  7. SalamunAliekum, I (along with some of my friends) am planning to start a website about the magnificent personality of Ali Ibn Abi Talib (A.S). Although, we are planning to keep it humanitarian instead of religious. We ought to show Imam Ali as a warrior, a scientist, a judge, a friend, a husband, a father, a son, a supporter, a leader; in short as a great man, instead of an imam or a religious personality (which he undoubtedly is). The idea behind keeping it this way is that people from all religions, casts, colors, creeds, races should be able to relate to him and see him as their role model. At this point, we are in a phase of designing our website and building our database for the content. We need some good (authentic) sources for anything and everything that relates to Imam Ali (A.S). Be it his quotes, stories from his life, his lifestyle, his spirituality, history of the people who followed him, loved him, obeyed him, praised him. ANYTHING that relates to him. We need that. So I ask for all your help. Please help us gather some material so that we can at least kick start this site of ours, with something instead of nothing. If you have anything like: 1. Links of the websites where we can get material from. 2. Any blog that might be worth reading. 3. Name of the books that can shine some light on his (A.S) life. 4. Any sources where we can find Hi-res images of his shrine. 5. Short stories from his life are much needed. (THIS IS ESPECIALLY NEEDED). 6. Anything else that you think might be of use. Plus, if any of you wants to help in any way. Feel free to get in touch. More people, more minds, more thoughts are always better. P.S. We already have hundreds of his sayings from authentic sources in good designed way, so if that can be of any help to anyone. We would be glad to share. Wassalam.
  8. Salaam, I'm an English speaker who has been looking into quotes from the Ahlul-Bayt about death. I can only find English versions, and would like to find the Arabic (don't trust google translate for this). - "Stiffen your breast for death. Indeed death will meet you. Do not show grief at death when it arrives in your valley" - "Death for the virtuous is a reward for them, death for the vicious is a relief for the people" -"Every breath of man brings him closer to death" -"Let go of your pride, put down your arrogance, and remember your grave" -"Every man is on a ladder, the steps are different for everyone except the last step, death" Thank you for your help!

Salaam. Can someone please help me figure out if this is an authentic saying of Imam Ali (AS) please? "The words of Allah are the medicine of the heart." I've seen it multiple times online but wanted to confirm that it's an authentic Hadith/saying. Thanks in advance.

  16. Salaam, I am going to debate a sunni soon as he challenged me. Any tips to blow his socks of? Any quotes on Imam Ali. Any bad quotes on the 3. Any other help. With reference too please.
  17. Salaam I had stopped receiving e-mail notifications of threads (after the upgrade), those which I had posted in (prior to this upgrade). After a month-long hiatus, I returned to find that I had to manually set up notification options all over again. I did that and yet I have not a single notification, neither about new replies in threads (either posted in prior to or after upgrade), nor about PMs or comments or quoted posts or 'likes' or friend requests. In fact, I just checked out a thread I had posted in a day or so back and in the list of people following it, my screen name is not listed.? (I manually changed it). This when I have ticked the box for auto-following topics I have replied in (actually it is by default, I believe, unlike other settings). Please look into this and kindly after that above detailed information, try not to infuriate me by asking me to check my notification options :squeez: Thank you.
