Donald Trump is inaugurated 47th President of US,thoughts? At noon today, Donald Trump took the presidential oath for a second time, capping a historic political comeback to the White House. As he did on the campaign trail, Trump painted a dark picture of America and took aim at President Joe Biden's leadership as his predecessor sat just steps away. "My recent election is a mandate to completely and totally reverse a horrible betrayal, and all of these many betrayals that have taken place, and to give the people back their faith, their wealth, their democracy, and indeed their freedom," Trump said, promising a "golden age of America."

The Hill Trump wins presidency for second time, completing improbable comeback Story by Brett Samuels • 9h Former President Trump has won the presidency, securing a second term nearly four years after he left Washington under a cloud of ignominy and with an uncertain political future, according to a projection from Decision Desk HQ (DDHQ). DDHQ made the call after declaring Trump the projected winner of Pennsylvania and Alaska, bringing him to exactly 270 electoral votes. Trump defeated Vice President Harris in an election that saw a number of unexpected developments: a criminal trial involving Trump during the campaign, two assassination attempts against the former president and a change atop the Democratic ticket after President Biden dropped out of the race. He becomes the first president in more than 120 years and the second ever to lose the White House and then come back to win it again, after President Cleveland in 1892. Trump secured the 270 electoral votes needed to win the White House following a roughly 100-day sprint of a campaign between him and Harris, with polling in seven key battleground states showing very little separation between the two candidates right up until Election Day. The former president ultimately won a convincing victory, flipping Georgia back into his column, holding North Carolina and shattering the “blue wall.” He was projected to narrowly win the popular vote, something he failed to do in 2016 and that Republicans have only done once since 1992. The former president and his running mate, Sen. JD Vance (R-Ohio), capitalized on voter discontent with higher costs, a surge in migration at the southern border and instability abroad during the Biden administration to pitch voters on a return to his policies. Exit polls showed Trump making huge gains with Latino voters, bolstering his margins in rural areas and running nearly even with Harris among young men, a demographic Trump’s campaign aggressively courted. Trump has pledged to carry out the largest deportation operation in the nation’s history, to extend the tax cuts he signed into law in 2017, to impose universal tariffs on foreign imports, to roll back protections for transgender youth, to shut down the Education Department and to curb environmental regulations. He has also signaled he will seek to stock his administration with loyalists. Trump overcame what was expected to be a huge deficit with female voters. Harris leaned in to the issue of abortion rights after three of Trump’s picks for the Supreme Court joined its other conservatives in overturning the Roe v. Wade decision in 2022. This was the first presidential election to take place since the end of Roe. The election of Trump could present him and the GOP a chance to strengthen the conservative grip on the high court, as Republicans also regained the majority in the Senate. Trump narrowly won the White House in 2016 but lost his reelection bid in 2020. He spent the weeks after that election pushing unproven claims of widespread fraud, culminating in a violent attack on the Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021, when his supporters tried to stop the certification of Biden’s victory. He was indicted on federal charges in Washington, D.C., in 2023 over his efforts to remain in power after losing the 2020 election. But Trump has signaled he will swiftly move to fire special counsel Jack Smith, who is overseeing that prosecution, kneecapping a major legal case against him. Trump’s rhetoric and conduct during his first term has drawn scrutiny from several former Cabinet officials and top aides, including some who compared him to an authoritarian. He was indicted in four separate jurisdictions in 2023 and was convicted in New York City on 34 felony counts in May. He was impeached twice during his first term and left office with a favorability rating below 40 percent. And he left Washington in 2021 without attending his successor’s inauguration. A number of politicians and pundits all but declared him politically dead, with Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) lashing out at Trump in a February 2021 speech from the Senate floor. McConnell did not vote to convict Trump in his impeachment trial over the Jan. 6 Capitol riot, however. If Trump had been convicted in that impeachment, it could have ended his political career and prevented him from running for the White House again. Instead, he now stands to further shift the GOP in his image, while McConnell’s tenure as Senate leader will end in January. In a sign of how wrong some were in predicting Trump’s political demise, he coasted to the GOP nomination thanks to a loyal base of supporters, and he appeared to be on a glide path to the presidency in July, when he survived an assassination attempt, rallied the full force of the party behind him at the GOP national convention and led Biden in the polls. But the incumbent dropped out later that month and was replaced by Harris, who galvanized Democratic voters and raised record sums of money. Trump struggled initially to respond to the change in opponent, and his rocky performance at a September debate further frustrated Republicans as the race tightened. Trump gained in the polls in the closing weeks of the campaign, however, showing strength among Black and Latino voters. Both are key voting blocs that helped propel him to victory. His campaign relied on a previously untested strategy of partnering with outside groups to reach voters in battleground states, a method that managed to overcome the stronger infrastructure of the Harris campaign. At 78, Trump is the oldest person in the country’s history to be elected president, slightly older than Biden was in 2020. He has declined to release detailed medical records despite previously saying he would have no problem doing so. Trump will become just the second president in the nation’s history to serve two nonconsecutive terms, but will be term limited by the 22nd Amendment, meaning he cannot seek reelection in 2028. The Iranian Interior Ministry has released the final list of candidates qualified to run in the forthcoming presidential election. Iran’s Interior Ministry on Thursday night gave the following list of eligible candidates (in alphabetical order) vetted by the Guardian Council. Mostafa Aqa-Mirsalim Mostafa Hashemi-Taba Es'haq Jahangiri Mohammad-Baqer Qalibaf Seyyed Ebrahim Raeisi Hassan Rouhani The vetting body was examining the qualifications of more than 1,600 candidates who registered to run for president for days. "We held the final session on examining the qualifications of the presidential election nominees today and fortunately reached a conclusion after five days of numerous sessions,” the council's spokesman, Abbas-Ali Kadkhodaei, said before releasing the final list. Here is a brief summary of the candidates’ backgrounds: Aqa-Mirsalim is a member of the Expediency Council. He used to be a senior aide to former President Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, and an ex-minister of culture and Islamic guidance, and a former caretaker of the Presidential Office. Hashemi-Taba was a vice president under former Presidents Ayatollah Akbar Hashemi Rafsanjani and Mohammad Khatami, a former minister of industries, and the former head of the Sports Organization. Jahangiri, who currently serves as the first vice president, used to be the minister of mines and metals under Khatami, the governor of Isfahan, and a parliamentarian. Qalibaf, the mayor of Tehran, was a former commander of Iran’s Islamic Revolution Guards Corps’ Air Force, an ex-chief of the national police, and a former commander of Iran’s Khatam al-Anbya Air Defense Base (formerly known as Khatam-al Anbiya Construction Headquarters). Raeisi is the chief custodian of Astan Quds Razavi, the organization managing the affairs of the Holy Shrine of Imam Reza (PBUH), the eighth Shia Imam, in the city of Mashhad. Besides performing in other positions, he used to function as the attorney general of Iran’s Administrative Court of Justice. Rouhani, the incumbent Iranian president, is a member of the Expediency Council and the Assembly of Experts, which appoints the country’s leader. The former posts he used to fill include membership of Majlis (Iranian Parliament) and headship of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council. The qualified candidates can now start election campaigning until 8 a.m. May 18, the Interior Ministry said in a statement. Disqualified among the high-profile aspirants were former two-time President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad and his former aide Hamid Baqaei. Earlier this month, the Iranian Judiciary spokesman said lawsuits filed against Ahmadinejad and Baqaei with regard to administrative violations were open and no final verdicts had been still given on them. Speaking to reporters on April 16, Gholam Hossein Mohseni-Ejei said the lawsuits were filed against Ahmadinejad in the capacity of president and have not yet led to the delivery of a verdict. A number of lawsuits have been filed with Iran's judicial officials after Ahmadinejad’s term in office concluded among which cases of malfeasance are more prominent. Out of major cases filed against the former president are three complaints by the Iranian Parliament’s Article 90 Commission. TO WHOM YOU WANT TO SEE AS PRESIDENT OF IRAN?

"Pie thinks he knows who is to blame for the rise of Trump... and you're not going to like it!" No, I believe what he says is agreeable. It all makes sense. Have a listen yourself and share your thoughts. Do overlook his vulgar language.

Tell me what you think below. :D The Plight of Pakistan The Blessed Land. Those three, simple, words sum up Pakistan. The prosperity of this land is evident from the fact that it is a cradle of civilization. Early nomads chose to settle in the Indus Valley for a reason. The five sweeping blue rivers of Punjab surrounded by naturally irrigated lush green farmland. The mountains of the north, with their crystal clear lakes and beautiful scenery. It was, and is, a heaven on earth. Thousands of years ago, the nomads gave up their way of life, and without hesitation, settled here. This unique culture may be the longest continuous culture to grace the face of the Earth. Archaeological evidence suggests that it has not greatly changed over all these years, so it is no wonder that it is far more unique and deeply-rooted than the young, “modern,” cultures of the West. On top of all this, this land has been blessed with the chosen religion, Allah’s religion. Pakistan carries the world’s second largest population of Muslims. Thus, this blessed land has given us the resources for prosperity, a unique culture, and the chosen religion. Then what is wrong? Why are people starving in such a bountiful land? Why are the influences of the West creeping in and slowly destroying this culture? Why are the people deviating from true Islam? The answer to all this is the rulers. It does not matter how bountiful the land is if the bounty is never exploited. It does not matter how strong the culture is if it is neglected. It does not matter how right the religion is, if it is not implemented. All of Pakistan’s failures are due to bad management. The greatness of a nation is viewed through its rulers. It is a sign of a doomed nation when the practice of politics is considered an undesirable trade. When it is automatically deemed that politics are for the corrupt, only the corrupt will be willing to take the mantle of governance, and with the corrupt in power, no amount of resources, culture and religion will save this nation. “Verily, Allah does not change the state of a People until they change themselves.” (13:11)

CNN chief correspondent Christiane Amanpour in her recent interview with Iranian President Rouhani asked him about the 'holocaust' and whether he recognized that it took place. Iran's responded by saying he's not a historian and that such dimensions should be dealt with by historians. Instead of reporting what Rouhani actually said, CNN and Amanpour quoted Rouhani as referring to the "dimensions of the holocaust." CNN later again falsely translated Rouhani's words when citing him as saying "Any criminality against the Jews, we condemn." The translations were later copy and pasted on regime-licensed news sites such as The Telegraph and Reuters. Holocaust: Although Iran's official stated policy is not in denial of the suffering of Jewish people during World War II, Jewish suffering represents a fragment of the total casualties of World War II with a total death toll of 60 million. Therefore, Iranian presidents have consistently stated that they condemn all crimes which have been carried out in World War II and its aftermath. This 'Iranian narrative' includes the killing of gypsies, socialists and other innocent civilians, who had also been mass murdered by 'allied forces' such as the United States and Great Britain. The term holocaust is not officially in use, mainly because it was utilized in the creation of the State of Israel as part as a post-war propaganda effort. In addition and more generally, Iranians believe it delineates Jews as a special group and elevates their suffering over other civilians from other groups during the conflict.
