By studying in Islamic teachings, we can claim Ramadan is a great and unique opportunity for a very long step towards perfection and what we are not able to gain at other times. You have right to ask: what is your reason? And I reply: when we put two Hadiths of Prophet Mohammad (SAWW) next to each other, we can prove and conclude such a thing. From one hand we read in a Hadith of Prophet (SAWW): “If Satans were not hovering around the hearts of the descendants of Adam, men could look at the kingdom of the heavens.” (Al-Mahajjah al-Bayda, v.2, p.125) It is clear that Satan is mentioned as a barrier in this tradition. From other hand, there is another Hadith in which holy Prophet (SAWW) said: “When the month of Ramadan starts …the devils are chained.” (Al Kafi, v.4, p.67) By looking carefully in these two traditions, one finds out that in Holy month of Ramadan the main barrier to reach perfection removed and a real servant can gain the true happiness and God's nearness easily. -
If yes, is this kind of perfectionism good or bad?

(salam) There are many obstacles stopping us from reaching that perfection we desire. The biggest is our own will and the level of power it commands, the obedience that comes through is from our own will to act upon God’s rules & regulations for our own benefits. For example why do we pray five times a day? Why is Fajr prayer 2 rakah? These are for our own benefit even though we may not understand or comprehend the significance of God’s laws we have logic to indicate why or what benefits are transmitted through these acts.
