I think it’s a step in the right direction. At least there is a recognition of the problem, and there is some sort of debate. Iranian Forum looks to address so-called ‘Sexual Crisis’ https://www.al-monitor.com/pulse/originals/2019/03/how-this-iranian-forum-does-not-talk-about-sex.html Comments?
http://muslimmatters.org/2013/09/27/muslim-marriage-crisis/ Once you read the article, I'm sure all of us would be able to relate to one or the other reasons. After the article sinks in, I would also recommend to read through the various comments underneath and enliven your SC experience on topics like these. Major reasons the author (& commentators) suggest of women/men not finding the match are: 1. Cultural baggage, older generation disconnected to the life of Western raised Muslims 2. Greed on one side or the other, mostly on the side of unmarried women or on the side of the men's mother 3. Not crossing the cultural and ethnical boundaries 4. Lack of interest from community elders into matchmaking efforts 5. Bad or half cooked matchmaking programs run by those who are concerned 6. Young women who demand to be married are looked down upon 7. Women's lack of focus on family and homemaking and more on career and education 8. Refusal to accept being a co-wife, stigmatizing men and women in such relationships 9. Dowry (although I thought people were out evolutionized from this) 10. Men marrying outside of the community 11. Men fearful of career accomplished wife; hence having a high profile career a negative point for these young women; high profile career oriented women feeding into the cycle by keeping home and kids as the backseat item.
