  1. On a very serious note, Sunni brothers really need to check the works Im posting in the comments below. These works identify SUFYANI I, predict the rise of SUFYANI II in this decade and more importantly notify the already over first coming of DAJJAL and warn against the more dangerous second coming of DAJJAL masquerading as Mahdi, ALL FROM SUNNI PROPHECIES ONLY. More than just theories, most of the matter in these works consists of almost ascertained facts, fulfilled prophecies and prophecies very close to being fulfilled.
  2. Why Imam Hasan al-Mujtaba (a.s.) entered into a peace treaty with Muawiyah? Anyone who claims Muawiyah’s superiority is a poor student of Islamic history. It was Muawiyah who went to war with Ameerul Momineen Ali b. AbiTalib (a.s.) in Siffeen and killed Ammar (r.a.) the venerable companion of the Holy Prophet s.a.w.a. – thus fulfilling the prophecy regarding the rebellious group that would slay him (r.a.). How can Muawiyah, who had many other crimes to his name, turn superior to Imam Hasan (a.s.), the Prophet’s (s.a.w.a.) son and a chief of the youths of Paradise? As regards Islamic unity, the less said the better. After Jamal, Siffeen, Naharwaan, Karbala in the earlier era and the numerous conflicts like the Osmani-Safavi, Iraq-Iran battles of the modern era and the continuous unabashed slaughtering of innocent and unarmed Shiites in Pakistan, Afghanistan, Bahrain, Iraq, Syria, etc. for no other reason except their belief, Islamic unity is nothing more than a political slogan to achieve their nigh impossible dream of dominating the Muslim world! Regarding the peace treaty, there is an interesting sermon of Imam Hasan (a.s.) where he explains the reasons behind the treaty. The sermon should put to rest all absurd and baseless theories advanced by the Muslims for the treaty. Imam Hasan (a.s.) registers his protest against Muawiya It is narrated from Sulaym Ibn Qais al-Hilaali, the trusted companion of Ameerul Momineen Ali Ibn Abi Talib (a.s.), that one day in an assembly of Muawiya and the Muslims, Imam Hasan (a.s.) ascended the pulpit and after glorifying Allah said: “O People! It is Muawiyah’s false assumption that I am considering him eligible for caliphate and preferred him over myself. He has lied. On the basis of categorical verses of the Holy Quran and the narrations of the Noble Prophet (s.a.w.a.), I am superior and worthier than all the people for caliphate. By Allah! Had people paid allegiance to me and helped me by obeying me, the heavens and the earth would have blessed them with their auspiciousness. O Muawiyah! (In such a condition) you would never have been greedy for it (caliphate) as the Messenger of Allah (s.a.w.a.) has said – When people hand over their affairs to such a person (who is less knowledgeable) whereas more knowledgeable people are present among them, their affairs will certainly proceed towards failure. So much so that they will go out of the religion and enter the custom of calf worship. The Bani Israel abandoned (Prophet) Haroon and started worshiping the calf even though they were aware of the fact that Haroon was the successor of (Prophet) Moosa(a.s.). In the same way this nation also abandoned Ali (a.s.) even though they themselves had heard the Messenger (s.a.w.a.) say – You are to me as Haroon was to Moosa except that there is no prophet after me. The Messenger (s.a.w.a.) himself left his people and went to the Sheb-e-Abi Taalib while he was inviting the people towards Allah. If he had helpers and companions he (s.a.w.a.) would have never taken to the cave. Likewise, if I would have got helpers I would have never made peace with you. When the Bani Israel weakened Haroon so much so that they were close to killing him, Allah considered his silence as valid as he also did not have any helper and friend. In the same way when the Messenger (s.a.w.a.) did not have any helper, Allah granted him the freedom to visit the Sheb-e-Abi Talib. It is the same for me and my father (a.s.) that when people abandoned us, paid allegiance to others and we did not find any helpers, then this (silence) is valid for us from the side of Allah. Certainly, these types of denials and arguments (against the treaty) will continue. O People! If you will search for the progeny of the Messenger (s.a.w.a.) in the East and the West, you will find none except me and my brother who are the children of Allah’s Messenger (s.a.w.a.). It is narrated in that when Imam Hasan (a.s.) made peace with Muawiya the people approached Imam Hasan (a.s.) and rebuked him, at which he (a.s.) retorted: Woe unto you! You all do not know what I have done. By Allah! I have done what is better and more suitable for our Shiites than anything over which the sun rises and sets. Don’t you know that I am your Imam whose obedience is obligatory upon you? Have you forgotten that Allah’s Messenger (s.a.w.a.) had said: I am one of the two Leaders of the Youths of Paradise? Everybody said: Yes! Imam Hasan (a.s.) said: Don’t you know that when Khizr (a.s.) made a hole in the boat, repaired the wall and killed a small child, all these actions proved to be difficult and tough for (Prophet) Moosa (a.s.) because the wisdom behind all this was not clear and apparent for him but near Allah it was full of wisdom and righteousness?….(Prophet) Isa (a.s.) will pray behind him (a.t.f.s.) because Allah will keep his birth confidential and his personality hidden so that even momentarily nobody’s allegiance will be upon his (Qaim (a.t.f.s.)) neck. (Behaar al-Anwaar, vol. 44, p. 19, Chapter 18 narrating from Al-Ehtejaaj, vol. 2, p. 289) Ref: http://www.seratonline.com/24410/why-imam-hasan-al-mujtaba-a-s-entered-into-a-peace-treaty-with-muawiyah/
  3. For anyone who is in denial that it is not in their books and needs to see it for themselves: Mu’awiya asks Sa’d to curse Ali (as) We read in Sahih Muslim: عن عامر بن سعد بن أبي وقاص، عن أبيه، قال أمر معاوية بن أبي سفيان سعدا فقال ما منعك أن تسب أبا التراب فقال أما ما ذكرت ثلاثا قالهن له رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم فلن أسبه لأن تكون لي واحدة منهن ۔۔۔ This hadith has been narrated on the authority of Shu’ba with the same chain of transmitters. Amir b. Sa’d b. Abi Waqqas reported on the authority of his father that Muawiya b. Abi Sufyin appointed Sa’d as the Governor and said: What prevents you from abusing Abu Turab (Hadrat ‘Ali), whereupon be said : It is because of three things which I remember Allah’s Messenger (may peace be upon him) having said about him that I would not abuse him and even if I find one of those three things for me, it would be more dear to me than the red camelg. I heard Allah’s Messenger (may peace be upon him) say about ‘Ali as he left behind hrin in one of his campaigns (that was Tabuk). ‘All said to him: Allah’s Messenger, you leave me behind along with women and children. Thereupon Allah’s Messenger (may peace be upon him) said to him: Aren’t you satisfied with being unto me what Aaron was unto Moses but with this exception that there is no prophethood after me. And I (also) heard him say on the Day of Khaibar: I would certainly give this standard to a person who loves Allah and his Messenger and Allah and his Messenger love him too. He (the narrator) said: We have been anxiously waiting for it, when he (the Holy Prophet) said: Call ‘Ali. He was called and his eyes were inflamed. He applied saliva to his eyes and handed over the standard to him, and Allah gave him victory. (The third occasion is this) when the (following) verse was revealed: “Let us summon our children and your children.” Allah’s Messenger (may peace be upon him) called ‘Ali, Fatima, Hasan and Husain and said: O Allah, they are my family." - Sahih Muslim, Chapter of Virtues of Companions, Section of Virtues of Ali, Book 31, Number 5915 Ibn Kathir, a high ranking scholar from Ahlus Sunnah records: When Mu’awiya went for Hajj, he held the hand of Sa’d bin Abi Waqas and said to him: ‘Oh Abi Ishaq! We are the people who abandoned Hajj because of wars until we almost forgot some of its laws, so we performed Tawaf (circumambulation) to imitate your Tawaf’. When they completed (the hajj), he (Muawiya) entered upon him (Sa’d) in a conference room and sat with him on his sofa, then he (Muawiya) mentioned Ali bin Abi Talib and cursed him. He (Sa’d) said: ‘You brought me to your house and made me sit on your sofa and then you have begun to curse Ali?’ - Al Bidayah wa al Nahayah, Volume 7 page 341, Chapter: The virtues of Ali عن سعد بن أبي وقاص قال قدم معاوية في بعض حجاته فدخل عليه سعد فذكروا عليا فنال منه فغضب سعد وقال تقول هذا “On his way to Hajj, Sa’d met Mu’awiya and his companions mentioned Ali upon which Mu’awiya cursed him, Sa’d got angry and asked ‘why do you say such things?’” Esteemed scholar of Salafi Sect Shaykh Al-albaani graded the Hadith as ‘Sahih’ [Reference in Sahih Sunan Ibn Majah by Albani, Volume 1 page 26] al-Tabari reported: "When Muawiya Ibn Abi Sufyan put al-Mughairah Ibn Shu’ba in charge of Kufah in Jumada 41 (September 2- October 30, 661), he summoned him. After praising and glorifying God, he said: “Now then, indeed a forbearing person has been admonished in the past… The wise might do what you want without instruction. Although I have wanted to advise you about many things, I left them alone, trusting in your discernment of what pleases me, what helps my regime and what sets my subjects [raiyyah] on the right path. I would continue to advise you about a quality of yours- do not refrain from abusing Ali and criticizing him, not from asking God’s mercy upon Uthman and His forgiveness for him. Continue to shame the companions of Ali, keep at a distance, and don’t listen to them. Praise the faction of Uthman, bring them near, and listen to them." - History of Tabari, English version, events of year 51 AH, Execution of Hujr Ibn Adi, v18, pp 122-123 Sunni Imam Ibn Jareer Tabari records: "The Messenger of Muawiya then came to them with orders to release six and to kill eight, telling them: We have been ordered to let you disavow Ali and curse him. If you do so, we shall release you, and if you refuse, we shall kill you." - History of Tabari, English version, events of year 51 AH, v18, p149 “Al-Hasan asked Mu’awiya to give him what is in Kufa’s treasury worth five million, Ebjird city tax, and not to curse Ali, Mu’awiya refused to desist from cursing Ali, so (al-Hasan) asked him not to curse Ali when he could hear it, (Mu’awiya) accepted this but failed to fulfil it, and about Darabjird city tax, the people of Basrah refused to deliver it to him and said that the income belonged to them and they would not give it to any one, their rejection was upon the orders of Mu’awiya” - Tarikh Kamil (Urdu), Volume 3 pages 2-3 (Usmania Academy, Hyderabad, India) - Tarikh Kamil (Arabic), Volume 3 page 272 (Beruit) - Tarikh Kamil, Volume 2 page 108 (from www.islamport.com) ---- قال دخلت على أم سلمة فقالت لي : أيسب رسول الله صلى الله عليه و سلم فيكم قلت معاذ الله أو سبحان الله أو كلمة نحوها قالت سمعت رسول الله صلى الله عليه و سلم يقول من سب عليا فقد سبني Abdullah al-Jadali said: ‘I came to Um Salama and she said to me: ‘How come Allah’s Messenger is being cursed among you?’. I replied: ‘We seek refuge from Allah or praise Allah or some similar words’. She said: ‘I heard Allah’s Messenger (pbuh) saying ‘whoever curses Ali has cursed me’ - Musnad Ahmed, Volume 6 page 323 Hadith 26791 من سب عليا فقد سبني، ومن سبني فقد سب الله The Prophet Sawa said: ‘Whoever curses Ali has cursed me and whoever has cursed me, he has cursed Allah.' - Al-Jam’e al-Saghir, Volume 2 page 608 Hadith 8736 that has been declared ‘Sahih’ by Sunni Hafiz Jalaluddin Syuti -- وَقُلْ جَاء الْحَقُّ وَزَهَقَ الْبَاطِلُ إِنَّ الْبَاطِلَ كَانَ زَهُوقًا "The truth has prevailed, and falsehood has vanished; falsehood will inevitably vanish." - The Holy Quran Surah Isra, 17:81 ‏والآخر دعواتنا الحمد لله رب العالمين
  4. As-Salam 'Alaikum, Allah revealed several verses about Abu Sufyan, Mu'awiyah and their followers, during the period of their armed hostility against Islam. Two of those passages are below. The first one is this (2:6-7): As for those who are kafir, it makes no difference to them whether you warn them or do not warn them, they will not have iman. Allah has sealed up their hearts and hearing and over their eyes is a blindfold. They will have a terrible punishment. The revelation of the Almighty, the Most Merciful. So that you may warn a people whose fathers were not warned and who are therefore unaware. The Word has been justly carried out against most of them so they have no iman. We have put iron collars round their necks reaching up to the chin, so that their heads are forced back. We have placed a barrier in front of them and a barrier behind them, blindfolding them so that they cannot see. It makes no difference to them whether you warn them or do not warn them: they will not have iman. Alas, these same people - along with Abu Sufyan and Mu'awiyah - trooped into Islam in their thousands on the day of the Conquest of Makkah. They became Sahabah after this. The question then is: did they have iman? A typical Sunni would say: "Yes."
  5. As-Salam 'Alaikum, In his Mukhtasar Sahih al-Bukhari, vol. 1, p. 295, Shaykh al-Albani states this about Mu'awiyah and Ibn al-Zubayr: فهذا معاوية وابن الزبير رضي الله عنهما قد أحدثا ما لم يكن في عهد النبي صلى الله عليه و سلم من الأذان These were Mu'awiyah and Ibn al-Zubayr, may Allah be pleased with them both. They both INNOVATED an adhan that did not exist during the time of the Prophet, peace be upon him. So, both of them were innovators. The weird part is that al-Albani still went ahead to say "may Allah be pleased with them both" despite confirming that they were innovators.
  6. Umar b. Khattab wrote a letter to Muaiyah l.a., the contents of which were as follows: ‘I went to the house of Ali, after having decided with others to bring him out of the house. Fatima came out and I told her, ‘Tell Ali to come out and swear the oath of allegiance to Abu Bakr for all Muslims have done so.’ Fatima replied that Ali was busy in arranging the Quran. I said, ’Keep this talk aside, tell Ali to come out or else we will forcefully enter the house and bring him out!’ At that moment, Fatima came and stood with her back towards the door and said, ‘O misled liars! What do you say and what do you want from us?’ I addressed her and she said, ‘What do you want O Umar?’ I replied, ‘Why has your cousin sent you here to reply while he remains seated behind veils?’Fatima said, ‘Your rebellion has brought me out O Umar and I have ended my proof upon you, and every misled is erroneous.’ I said, ‘Keep these vain and womanish words aside and tell Ali to come out of the house.’She replied, ‘You are not worthy of love and generosity. Do you make us fear the ‘Party of the Devil’ O Umar? Verily the Party of the Devil are the losers!’ (Surah Mujadilah (58): 19)Hearing this I said, ‘If Ali does not come out of the house, I will bring fuel and kindle a fire and burn down the house along with its dwellers or I will take Ali to the Masjid for (the oath of) allegiance.’ Then I took the whip (of Qunfudh) and struck Fatima with it and told Khalid b. Walid, ‘Bring firewood’, then again I told her, ‘I will burn down the house!’Fatima said, ‘O enemy of Allah and enemy of the Prophet of Allah s.a.w.a. and the enemy of the Commander of the Faithful!’ VISIT OPPRESSIONS UPON JANABE ZAHRA BLOGSPOT Two hands came out from behind the door to stop me from entering the house, however I pushed back the hands and then pushed the door with force, while striking at her hands with the whip, so that she would let go of the door. She wailed and wept due to the intense pain of the whip and her weeping was such a heart-rendering scream that it was as if my heart was going to melt and I almost retreated. Suddenly, I recalled the envy and avarice which I had towards Ali because he was the one that had shed the blood of the eminent Quraish apostates and thus, I kicked at the door, however she had grasped the door such that it would not open. When I kicked at the door, I heard the cry of Fatima and thought that this cry would topple the entire city of Medina. In this state Fatima called out, ‘O Father! O Prophet of Allah! How do they treat your beloved and your daughter! O Fizza! Hasten to my aid, for by Allah, the child in my womb has been killed.’I presumed that Fatima had stood with her back to the wall due to the extreme pain of labour and at this point, I pushed at the door with intense force and the door opened. When I entered therein, Fatima came and stood in front of me (even though she was in immense pain), but my intense anger had overwhelmed me as if a veil was cast before my eyes. In this state, I slapped her on her face, striking her veil, and she fell down to the ground.’” (This letter is quoted by Allamah Majlisi r.a. in Behaar al-Anwaar in which he says - I have related this letter from Dalail al-Imamah vol. 2 of Emaad al-Deen Tabari r.a. that after the martyrdom of Imam Husain a.s. at Karbala, Abdullah b. Umar along with a group of people from Medina came to Syria. They protested in front of Yazid l.a. regarding his atrocities at Karbala and in this gathering, Yazid l.a. told Abdullah b. Umar, “Do you wish to see the letter of your father”, saying this he brought forth the letter (quoted in the text) of Umar which was kept in a case and then he gave it to Abdullah )
  7. These ahādīth seem to portray Muawiyah in a good light... ٢٩٧ - ٢٩٨ - رواه الحميري رحمه الله في الحديث: " ٢٩٧ و ٣٠٢ " من كتاب قرب الإسناد ، ص ٤٥ ط ١تفصيل وسائل الشيعه الى تحصيل مسائل الشريعة للحر العاملي سنة 1104 ه‍ الجزء الخامس عشر ص[ 80 ] 26 - باب حكم قتال البغاة Abdullah Ibn Ja'far Al-Himyari in Qurb Al-Isnad) - Harun Ibn Muslim - Mas'adah Ibn Ziyad - Ja'far (Al-Sadiq) - Muhammad (Al-Baqir), who said that Ali (peace be upon him) did not accused anyone who fought him with Shirk, Kufr or Nifaq, he rather used to say: "They are our brothers who trangressed against us". (Source: Narrated by Al-Himyari, Hadith no: 297 and 302 in his book Qurb Al-Isnad, p 45, vol 1. Also in "Al-Shari'ah" by Al-Hurr (Al-'Ameli), part 15, page 80, chapter: The ruling on the trangressors, 26) Another version in Al-Qurb Al-Isnad by Al-Himyari: قرب الإسناد: ابن طريف عن ابن علوان عن جعفر عن أبيه أن عليا (عليه السلام) كان يقول لأهل حربه: إنا لم نقاتلهم على التكفير لهم ولم نقاتلهم على التكفير لنا ولكنا رأينا أنا على حق ورأوا أنهم على حق. 8. (salam) the people of shiachat, So we know that someone saying the shahada makes them a Muslim and we also know how wrong it is for US as falible humans to assume another is not a Muslim. However, in this instance what if Yazeed & Muawiyah repented for the atrocious acts they comited? Since we cant even begin to imagine the Mercy of Allah (swt), my question is: a) How can we as Muslims declare another (in this case yazeed & muawiyah) is a kaffir when we do not know if they repented and what lies in their heart? - Except for those who repent and correct themselves and make evident [what they concealed]. Those - I will accept their repentance, and I am the Accepting of repentance, the Merciful. (2:160) I am looking for sensible answers with reference (where applicable) and I look forward to a healthy discussion which can lead us all to a better understanding of this issue! P.S. In no way do I condone the acts of these two.
  9. MUAWIYAH ACKNOWLEDGES AMEERUL MOMINEENS EXCELLENCE Diraar b. Damrah was one of the companions of Ameerul Mo'mineen (a.s.). After Ameerul Mo'mineen's (a.s.) martyrdom, he went to Syria where he met Mu'awiyah ( l.a.). Mu'awiyah (l.a.) asked him, 'Describe Ali to me.' He replied, 'Would you please excuse me from answering this?' But Mu'awiyah (l.a.) insisted, 'You must describe him.' Whereupon Dirar said: http://oppressionsuponjanabezahra.blogspot.com/ If there is no alternative, then you should know that Ali was a man whose personality knew no limits, terrible in power, his speech was decisive, his judgements based on justice, his knowledge spread in all directions and wisdom was manifest in all his behaviour. Among the food he liked most was the coarse kind and among the clothes, the short (and humble) ones. By Allah he was among us as one of us. He used to respond to our questions and fulfill our requests. By Allah although he used to let us get close to him, and himself was close to us, we did not dare address him due to our feeling of awe towards him, nor did we dare speak first due to his greatness in our hearts. His smiled displayed a row of pearls. He used to honour the pious, be kind to the needy, feed the orphan, the near of kin or the needy man in misery on the day of hunger; to clothe the bare ones and to help the undefended person. He used to detest the world and its flowering. I stand witness that I have seen him on several occasions when night had spread, and he was standing in the niche (of the mosque) holding his beard, groaning like man bitten by a snake, and weeping as a grieved man saying: O world, O world! Get away from me. Why do you present yourself to me? Or are you eager for me? You may not get that opportunity to impress me. Deceive some other person. I have no concern with you. I have divorced you thrice whereafter there is no restitution. Your life is short, your importance is little and your liking is humble. Alas! The provision is little, the way is long, the journey is far, and the goal is hard to reach. When Mu'awiyah (l.a.) heard this from Diraar his eyes were filled with tears and he ( l.a.) said, 'May Allah have mercy on Abul Hasan. He really was so.' Then turning to Diraar he said, 'How do you feel in his absence, O Diraar !' Diraar replied, 'My grief is like that of a woman whose only child is butchered in her arms.' (Nahjul Balagha, saying no. 77)
