Salaam, Who taught or revealed the Gospel to Jesus? Since we believe Jibraeel revealed the Qur'an to our Nabi and Jibraeel is the Arcangel of Revelation, who revealed the Gospel to Jesus and is there any evidence? Same question for Ibrahim and Musa... Did Allah speak directly to Abraham and Moses? Did Allah also speak directly to Jesus and Muhammad and is there any evidence? By "evidence" I specifically mean Ayats in Qur'an, Hadith or anything from our Imams stating these things. Thank you!
"Allah the Exalted ordered Musa [Moses] (a.s.) and Harun [Aaron] (a.s.) to go to Pharaoh. Well, it was a big task for two individuals to go and confront – on their own – a great power that existed at that time: Pharaonic power was a great power in terms of politics and social affairs and even in terms of his influence on the people and his bureaucratic resources. There are many things to be said about the Pharaonic power. Pharaoh was an shocking phenomenon. He was a tyrannical power who did whatever he liked with abundant resources at his disposal." "Allah the Exalted entrusted two individuals with the task of confronting and fighting against that person. Hazrat Musa (P.B.U.H) said, “If we go, they might kill us and thus our task will remain half-finished.” They were not afraid of being killed. They said that their task would remain half-finished. “He said, ‘Fear not for I am with you. I hear and see everything” [The Holy Quran, 20: 46]. God said that He was with them. Notice that this is divine assistance: “For I am with you. I hear and see everything.” When God says, “God is with those who observe piety” – as I said, if we have piety, God is with us – this divine assistance and accompaniment means that one can send two individuals empty-handed so that they fight against a Pharaoh." "Elsewhere in the Holy Quran – of course, this has been repeated in the Holy Quran many times and I am narrating another part of it – when it came to public confrontation and challenge and when Hazrat Musa (P.B.U.H) gathered Bani Israel so that they would get out of the city at dawn, very early in the morning or at midnight, and get rid of Pharaoh, Pharaoh’s spies said to him in the morning – when the sun had risen a little – that Bani Israel have evacuated the city and that all of them have gone. Pharaoh became agitated as he thought that they would go somewhere else and would create a nucleus. He ordered his army to gather. They gathered the army and chased Bani Israel." "I do not know the interval between Bani Israel’s departure and the gathering of the Pharaoh’s army. Perhaps, it took that army one, two days – more or less – to advance. Well, Bani Israel were walking on foot without enough resources. They were a bunch of ordinary people comprised of women, men and children, but the Pharaoh’s army had military equipment, large troops, horses and everything. They would naturally reach them soon and they did so. When Musa’s followers saw them from a distance and when they saw that the Pharaoh’s army was approaching, they became nervous. In the Holy Quran – Sura al-Shuara – God says, “And when the two bodies saw each other” [The Holy Quran, 26: 62]. When the two groups – Prophet Musa’s (P.B.U.H) group, which was ahead, and the Pharaoh’s group which was chasing them – saw each other from afar and when they got so close that they could see one another, “The people of Musa said, ‘We are sure to be overtaken’” [The Holy Quran, 26: 62]. Bani Israel, who were with Musa (P.B.U.H), became terrified. They said, “Oh Musa, they will catch us soon.” The Arabic word “mudrakun” means overtaking, reaching. They said that the Pharaoh’s army would capture and massacre them shortly." "What was Musa’s (P.B.U.H) answer? Prophet Musa (P.B.U.H) said in response, “He said, ‘By no means.’”. He said that such a thing would never happen. Why? It is because “My Lord is with me.” This is divine assistance. He said that God is with him: “My Lord is with me. Soon will He guide me” [The Holy Quran, 26: 63]. Notice that divine assistance has such significance. When they say, “For God is with those who observe piety, and those who do good” the value of this assistance should be appreciated. If we can preserve this divine assistance, you should know that even if some people in the world have a kind of power which is 10 times more than that of America – let alone the power of America itself – the divine power which accompanies us will overcome them." I was watching Sayed Ammar's recent lectures and he brought up an interesting point about the prophecy of Muhammed in the OT and NT. To our fellow christian members I was wondering if you guys can break down these bible verses to me: Deuteronomy 18:18 18I will raise up a prophet from among their countrymen like you, and I will put My words in his mouth, and he shall speak to them all that I command him. 19 He uses this verse in the bible to show how Moses was actually, by his wording, mentioning the Prophet Muhammed (as) in this verse ( I believe that christians use this to say Moses was actually mentioning Jesus Christ here). What do you guys think? then he uses this verse, the interesting part Luke 7:28 28I tell you, among those born of women there is no one greater than John, yet even the least in the kingdom of God is greater than he.” He uses this by saying that-- This was Jesus talking about John the Baptist ( prophet Yahya (as) ) and Jesus explicitly says that there is no greater man then john, however in Matthew 3:11-12, John says 11“As for me, I baptize you with water for repentance, but He who is coming after me is mightier than I, and I am not fit to remove His sandals; He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire. 12“His winnowing fork is in His hand, and He will thoroughly clear His threshing floor; and He will gather His wheat into the barn, but He will burn up the chaff with unquenchable fire.” Who is John referring to? The problem is , is that John can't be referring to Jesus because Jesus already confirmed the presence of John with Luke 7:28, and not only that but giving him the greatest compliment, so John could have just used word's like ' Lord' or 'Jesus' or even' Son of Man' or 'Son of God' if he was referring to Jesus, but he kept it at future tense, where Jesus was already present. Who is John referring to here? John seems to revere this man to the point where he uses an analogy of not being able to touch the sandals of this man to show how great his status is.
Workers' rights in the Quran: Verse 26 of Surah Al-Qasas notes to the working contract between Moses and Jethro (Shu‘ayb) قَالَ إِنِّي أُرِيدُ أَنْ أُنكِحَكَ إِحْدَى ابْنَتَيَّ هَاتَيْنِ عَلَىٰ أَن تَأْجُرَنِي ثَمَانِيَ حِجَجٍ ۖ فَإِنْ أَتْمَمْتَ عَشْرًا فَمِنْ عِندِكَ ۖ وَمَا أُرِيدُ أَنْ أَشُقَّ عَلَيْكَ ۚ سَتَجِدُنِي إِن شَاءَ اللَّـهُ مِنَ الصَّالِحِينَ(Al-Qasas) "He said, ‘Indeed I desire to marry you to one of these two daughters of mine, on condition that you hire yourself to me for eight years. And if you complete ten, that will be up to you, and I do not want to be hard on you. God willing, you will find me to a righteous person." Here Moses is worker and Jethro is employer ,there is some points here: 1. employer should deal with worker fairly and giving work more than ability of worker is immoral action as Jethro said:" I do not want to be hard with on you" 2. If an employer oppress to the worker is not considered as righteous. 3. Workers should have" freedom of choice", to feel independence and freedom and be different with slaves .
I have heard that the Prophet Muhammad had a night journey to Jerusalem. Where he met Jesus, Abraham, Moses, and John the Baptist and led them in prayer. How did the prophet Muhammad know that he was in Jerusalem? And, also how did he know who these other prophets were? Did he ask them their names, or did they address themselves?
I have been reading few articles on the internet and I came across one which doubted that Prophet Muss ever existed and Exodus from Egypt never happened which is claimed Archaeologists and Historians citing new Archaeological evidence, historical evidence and related origin myths and also they claim there is no evidence of the Exodus ever happening or Moses ever existed outside of Religion. What are you guys thoughts on this claim that Moses never existed and neither did the Exodus ever happen? I am quite confused.
