  1. I pray everyone is fine reading this. This thread is dedicated to the medicine and health guidelines established by the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. I will be including what the medicine is, it's effects, how to use it, etc. Any references I use will be mentioned, both scientifically and traditionally (i.e. narrations, Qur'an), save if it is generally well-known. It should be noted that the medicines will be shortened and not given diffused explanations due to this being an informative thread and not a lesson in a classroom, so summaries will be written. If any further clarification is needed, I will be more than happy to provide an explanation or reasoning as to what is in question. Thank you for reading. 1. On the authority of 'Aisha (Allah be pleased with her), she reported: "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: “Verily, At-Talbinah places at ease the heart of a sick person and takes away some grief.” Sahih Bukhari by Imam Bukhari: volume 7, book 71, hadith #593. Sahih Muslim by Imam Muslim: book 39, hadith #121. What is Talbinah?: Talbinah is a form of broth or soup made with barley flour, warm/hot water, and honey. Though it is usually made with water, milk is also used and is the best of the two options. How do you make Talbinah?: The recipe for Talbinah is quite simple and can be done in minutes. It should be done in this order: 2 tablespoons of barley flour into 2 cups of milk/water and place it over a fire/stove in a small pot. Continuously stir until it becomes like a yogurt or a porridge - usually for a period of 5-15 minutes. Add honey 4 tablespoons of honey (though you may add more if it is not sweet enough to your liking). Let it cool and enjoy! (It is best while hot/warm, so it is recommended you drink it then.) What are the benefits of Talbinah?: Talbinah contains a mixture of ingredients that aid in wellbeing. Honey, being one of the primary ones, contains these benefits: Gets rid of acne, acne scars, dead skin cells, dirt in skin, mucus, bacteria. Heals and soothes burns and all wounds. Improves overall memory. A blockade for different types of cancer cells; disabling them from producing entirely. Excellent for fertility of both genders. Superior antioxidant and antibacterial. Milk is the next ingredient in this medicine, which has these benefits: Prevents all types of cancer and diseases related to the bone (osteoporosis, bone cancer, etc). Strengthens bone, preventing breaks, fractures. Also strengthens teeth, prevents rotting, decay. One of the best sources of vitamin D, calcium, vitamin B. Acts as a proficient weight stabilizer. Allah says in the Qur'an of these mentioned medicines: And your Lord inspired the bee: "Set up hives in the mountains and in the trees and in the trellises that people put up, Then suck the juice of every kind of fruit and keep treading the ways of your Lord which have been made easy." There comes forth from their bellies a drink varied in colors, wherein there is healing for mankind. Verily, that is a sign in for the people who reflect. Surah an-Nahl, verses 69-70. وَاِنَّ لَـكُمۡ فِىۡ الۡاَنۡعَامِ لَعِبۡرَةً  ؕ نُّسۡقِيۡكُمۡ مِّمَّا فِىۡ بُطُوۡنِهٖ مِنۡۢ بَيۡنِ فَرۡثٍ وَّدَمٍ لَّبَنًا خَالِصًا سَآئِغًا لِّلشّٰرِبِيۡ Surely there is a lesson for you in the cattle [i.e. goats, camels, cows]: We provide you to drink out of that which is in their bellies between the feces and the blood - pure milk - which is a pleasant drink for those who take it. Surah an-Nahl, verse 66. Moreover, the Messenger of Allah states in an authentic narration: إِنَّ اللَّهَ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ لَمْ يَضَعْ دَاءً إِلَّا وَضَعَ لَهُ شِفَاءً فَعَلَيْكُمْ بِأَلْبَانِ الْبَقَرِ فَإِنَّهَا تَرُمُّ مِنْ كُلِّ الشَّجَرِ “Verily, Allah Almighty did not place an ailment but that He also placed its cure. You should drink the milk of cows, for they are given health by all kinds of plants.” Musnad Ahmad 18352 - authenticated by Sheikh al-Albani. NOTE: If you are lactose intolerant, you can use camel milk as a substitute rather than your traditional almond, coconut, or soy milk. Later on in this thread, I will post the benefits of camel milk. All these ingredients provide augmentation to the body, even before mixing them. Three tablespoons of honey a day can save one a lifetime of pain and suffering through many diseases. A glass of milk a day strengthens your bones monumentally, and by extension, your entire body. Moving on to the benefits of Talbinah: Works as an antidepressant that is proven to work. Many doctors prescribe antidepressant "medicine" that either has no effect or worsens the overall mood of a person effected with a mental illness. Eases anxiety and stress. Gives an energy boost to those afflicted with sadness, depression, any forms of sickness & illness, etc. Eases the muscles of the body, pain, aches afflicted by mental duress on the body, and provides mental clarity & serenity. Conclusion: Talbinah is one of the best, if not the best, cure for sadness, depression, horrific events, tragedies, many mental illnesses and the like that can be physically consumed, albeit temporarily. The Qur'an, however, is the ultimate cure for all diseases and problems - mentally and physically - without challenge.
  2. I've had some medicine with a very high percentage of ethanol, it was not by choice and I had to take it. I didn't know what else that I had to do in that situation. What should I do? I had a small amount so im not intoxicated, can I still pray?
  3. Salam everyone. I'm interested in studying Shia Islami Tibb and Hijama, and pursuing a career in it. I have searched Google for information related to the institutes which teach these subjects but I couldn't find much information. I would appreciate information about cheap tuition fee institutes which offer courses/degrees/certifications in Hijama, Shia Islami Tibb. Please help.
  4. Salam aleykum, I'd like to share this very interesting documentary from Ahlul Bayt TV, what do you guys think? Do you have any experience with natural medicine, do you believe in it?
  5. Salamun Alaykum. We should all feel guilty of what has been done to our Islam (Shia Islam). We have heard so many breath taking ahadeeth from Ahlulbayt(a.s) on "Knowledge" and how it is better even than the blood of martyrs. But if we see our situation in the Globe "Where are WE??" Are we even close? On one hand where our Ulema e Ekraam have established a Legacy of being THE BEST intellectually in the field of Islamic Science but on the other hand the people who are responsible to grow the community in other fields such as Tech, Medicine, Astronomy, Physics, Chemical Science etc etc and the list goes on. Why so? What has caused us be far behind those who don't deserve to be there. Holy Prophet(saws) said "Knowledge is the lost entity of a believer." And I don't remember the exact hadeeth but it goes like this - (narrated from 5th and 5th Imam(a.s)) - "Those who are not on the top among the peers and claim to be our shia have false claims, They are not our Shia." What are some root causes we are lagging behind so much? Where world is growing day by day the gap between us and them is going even even more wider. Also after the advent of Social Media the "Wonderful" has taken place. More than half of us have lost our interest + time from studies. Rather I should say We have been largely deviated. Lets draw a line of comparison between the lives of Ulema who are pursuing Islamic science as their knowledge sphere and on the contrary We who are into the Worldly Sciences. Our Greater Ulemas are so much immersed into their studies (Allamah Tabatabai (r.a) is one of the greatest examples) that they don't even have the time to talk unnecessarily. Their life is filled with knowledge and they don't show any sign of arrogance. They are the real embodiment of the lives of Prophets of Allah. But we as the follower of Wordly Science are neither immersed into it nor we are creating a legacy out of it. The families of Ulemas have a chain of Ulemas in their Lineage. But we don't have such chains. If we do have this just Imagine - "How many levels can we grow from our status quo!" I see Iran as a Global Example of how they have established a greater Legacy in Both the Spheres of lives - Religious studies and Worldly Sciences. Please if you all have any solutions of how a global student community can be setup to bring a revolution in this sphere of life then please drop your ideas. And Tag people in this post so that they do notice where are we heading!
  6. Asalam-o-Alaykum brothers and sisters. This has to be the least talked about topic throughout the whole Muslim community, including the Sunni and other sects. We can simply look up matters and rulings for Abortion, Euthanasia, IVF, etc. That's all well and good, a well-known Mujtahid can easily provide answers for these matters. However, there are still some things that need addressing, as they will become common in the future. Matters not addressed or they are addressed briefly: - Cloning: I understand that Ayatollah Sistani provided an answer to cloning animals (which is permissible), but what of Humans? Am I allowed to have a double? And if I do, then was it Allah's will that another me was created or a creation of my own? - Genetic Modification --> An answer was provided by Ayatollah Sistani that, as long as it is beneficial, it is permissible as long as there are no side effects. If anyone is able to (I've tried) then could you help me go into more depth with this? - Designer Children Now this is what the main controversial topic of the future will be. Children born under IVF that enables their parents to choose his/her eye colour, skin colour, hair colour. Parents can also decide how tall and what body type they will be, and even decide what their facial feature will look like. Parents may even decide how smart, and how athletic their child will become. Already there are big countries like Australia that have banned having children like that because they believe such children will be at such a significant advantage over the other normal children. Other religious traditions have already made rulings on these matters. The Catholic Church prohibit it, as God is the one and only creator. Therefore, by deciding essentially all the child's features, the parents are then acting "in the place of God". If we are to successfully transition into the future, then we must seriously be thinking of the matters above. Not only will this help our future generations, but it will also help non-Muslims to have a clear understanding of what our deen says about this, rather they have some fuzzy idea that they might share with other like-minded people who look into these matters.
  7. Assalamallikum, Here is a medical, real-time, futuristic news report: http://www3.nhk.or.jp/nhkworld/en/news/20160804_29/ entitled: "Al used to save patient's life" Artificial lnteIIigience was used to identify the type of leukemia a patient has and the treatment. @starlight, the other doctors whose names l do not remember off-hand, and @Ali-F whose current thread is "What are you studying" in case Ali-F wants another suggestion.
  8. Salam, I hope you're all well. I have started to look for places to do my final year medical electives in 2018, as recommended by previous medical students. It is a 8 week block, however we only need to attend a clinical placement for 6 weeks within the block. I'm currently studying in the UK. My major concerns regarding choice of elective placement is safety and discrimination (both islamophobia and anti-shia hate). Plus I'm aware some hospitals may hold a no-hijab policy, so I hope to avoid applying to those. Currently I hope to find a hospital in dearborn or (west of) sydney to apply to, mostly because they hold the largest shia populations. Malaysia and indonesia interest me also, although to a much lesser extent (due to the language barrier). My university has ties to two german universities, so I hope to fall back on those if my application to any of the locations mentioned previously does not succeed. But again, I'm not unsure about hijab policies in Munster unversity and moritz university (greifswald). I understand german completely and with a little jog of the memory I probably will remember how to speak it fluently too. I was wondering wether you could help steer me away from discriminating places/cities and direct me towards safer locations. My choices are not limited to the countries/cities I listed. For instance, I have considered zanzibar too. I have been told it's quite the rewarding experience and sets a strong contrast between medical care in MEDCs and LEDCs. My university has ties to other locations like lisbon (portugal), madrid, cordoba, paris, tokyo, rome, beijing, hong kong etc. The reason why I'm not listing these is due to the lack of interest in the culture AND the language barrier. Although, and to be fair, I do like the japanese culture. But I have been told they don't take kindly to foreigners, or at least don't enjoy seeing them. I hope you can help and thanks for reading =D jazakum Allah kheiran!
  9. Salam alakum, I would like to direct any brothers and sisters with illnesses or loved ones with illnesses to research about black seed oil. It is a real miracle cure which is backed by scientific evidence. www.nabiblackseedoil.com for further information. Ali
  10. Salam Alaykum, Does anyone know anything about studying physiotherapy in Iraq or Iran (preferably Karbala, Najaf or Qom)? Any information whatsoever would be helfpul. Jazakallah.
  11. Salam Aleykom! I wonder if it is allowed to use medicine containing animal? I am about to lose incredible amount of hair and I think I have a hereditary disease. This makes you lose hair at an early age. I have found the pills from the pharmacy but the problem is that it is made of cow meat.
