    [LECTURES] Muharram 2018/1440

The first ashra of Muharram is in full swing across the globe, and with it comes our annual call to all ShiaChat members: polish off the advanced search skills and locate those elusive local Imambargah YouTube channels in an attempt to gather the most viewed collection of event-specifc Shia lectures on the Internet and spread the message of Imam Hussein (a). Previous threads have already racked up thousands of views as people continue to come back to find lectures that were linked to in these threads; let's keep the trend going inshallah. Past Years:
  2. The Arrival is near channel https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCAlEtJ9KmzecIm98Y3-owCA https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCTGZOmQ-XqkdsK0ChTnpecQ
  3. Salam Alaikum all, I'm not sure if this the right place to post this, but I wanted to spread awareness about this. There is a group of volunteers who are subtitling Shia lectures and the YouTube link is: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCEgIPLYOKQgvDHCbIFWr_-Q This is useful accessibility for those who are Deaf and Hard of Hearing. To be updated when a new lecture is subtitled, follow their social media accounts: - Instagram, Twitter and Facebook: ShiaAccess Please share this message to raise awareness for those in need, Wsalams.

    Inspiring Lectures

Hi! Salaam! Hope all is well. During Muharram, I was watching Ammar Naqshawni's lectures. They are amazing. The most inspiring one is the first one: Zaynab is Zaynab I was looking for more inspiring lectures to watch when I'm feeling down, or not religious. Any specific ones? Like I know Hasnain Rajbali has good lectures. But does anyone have any specific lectures that are inspiring? Thank you!

    [LECTURES] Muharram 1438/October 2016

Please post any lectures, speeches, majalis, etc that you find or may be listening to this Muharram on this thread. As with last Ramadan, feel free to share any speaker you may find, but please try to make sure that you share lectures of this year. We will once again try to keep this updated throughout Muharram. There don't seem to be any lectures available yet. ShiaChat Development Team
  7. (bismillah) (salam) Please use this topic for news of events in the Detroit or Dearborn area. Thank you. For registration of the FASTING SEMINAR please visit this webpage: http://www.imam-us.o...fasting-seminar
  8. I thought it might be a good idea to start a thread where we can say what lectures we've been watching lately and what we can recommend to our fellow brothers and sisters. I apologise if this has already been done by the way. Two lectures that have stood out to me this week are Being Kadhim: Loneliness and Depression and Dr Sayed Ammar Nakshawani's lecture of Shukr (thankfulness). The Being Kadhim video gives really good and practical advice for dealing with hardship, and let's face it, who is a better example of someone who is steadfast than Imam Karzim (as)? And the lecture on Shukr wallahi it has impacted on me so much, and inshallah I want to make a habbit of saying shukran lilallah and al hamdulilah more. Its an old lecture, but a timeless one. Amy
  9. Can be found at: https://www.youtube.com/user/UnityLectures/videos 9 Lectures in total, Lectures continue until Monday if you can make it to Manchester, UK. We also have a dinner on the Tuesday with him for those interested.

  11. Salam 3aleykom Hi, I am new here. I am an ex-sunni before I move on to the topic I would like to say why i left sunni islam. I have always been a believer, I have never had a doubt about there being a God. I was never a religious person and my family is a very mixed and non religious one. Since I read the first few pages of the Quran, I knew these were not the words of a man, but someone divine and that Islam is the true religion. I also have been following world politics and am a deep thinker about issues, and this led me to connect almost every aspect in my life to what is true and false. It all is connected and makes perfect sense in politics, religion, science, art and culture. We have true and false. I came to realize politically that sunnis align themselves with the enemies of Islam. knowingly or not they are on the wrong side. And if you notice to what the zionists are targeting, it is mainly the Shiaa countries. Bahrain is not a threat as long as the KSA backed minority sunnis are in control. Iraq is gone. Yemen is almost gone. And the only reason they are after Syria now is because they want to stop the supply route to Hezbullah. So it makes sense that the target of the dajjal's system has to be the truth. Another reason i switched to Shiasm is because, I can compare today's corruption and lies, to history's and understand how it could have been the same way 1000 years ago. I guess sunni leadership has always been corrupt. today's sunni leadership are drunken homosexual pedophiles. They usurped the muslim nation's money and use it fund a fitna. They even demolished the obelisk pillar which represents satan in the hajj and erected a meaningless wall to throw pebbles at. now to the topic I wanted to talk about...... Can we pleaaaaaaaaase stop trying to convince the world "there is a God", "Islam is right", Shiasm is right, sunnis are wrong" I am tired of these useless debates. There is absolutely no point! Please understand only God and that person can change his mind, and you are wasting you breath and energy. If a person is sincerely asking then we could help him understand. But if someone is arguing, then he has no sincerity in understanding and is there just to fight you. As a person who recently and late in life has become religious, when I go online to learn more about Islam, almost every Sheikh I listen to talks about why Islam is right, or proofs that there is a God. I already believe in God, so all this convincing is pointless information for me. what I would like to learn is more about Islamic law for example, or how to battle anger and impatience. How to act in a society. I listen to Sheikh Ammar Nakshawani and other Sheikhs and I respect them to the upmost, but even they spend the majority of their lectures just trying to prove or convince us that Shiasm is the truth. As a person who already agrees 100% with that belief... Too much time in lectures are given to these topics and I am not learning anything. We need to stop trying to convince everyone and just start trying to learn how to be better muslims :) Thank you.
