  1. Started a new thread for this since I am baffled and the other thread is going in different directions. [someone] stated that ghuluw is only calling Imams as God. Everything else is game on. What is everyone's thoughts on this. I find this to be shirk in itself. Of course he presented a narration to support this. But this narration is in clear violation of the Quran. We read Surah Ikhlas several times a day in which Allah says, there is nothing like him. Yet, this brother says Imams can be just like Allah, but it is only ghuluw to call them Allah. Is this a fringe opinion or is this a widespread belief? Please pitch in.
  2. Bismillah, ar-Rahman, ar-Rahim AsSalaamu Alaykum, If you can define, “ Shirk” and what actually constitutes Shirk, based on your understanding of the term Shirk. ws, Layman.
  3. Salaam everyone, I found an old post about the Bektashis in the Balkans/Turkey. While the article was well written, it seems the person who wrote it was banned and from what I found, was very toxic. I'd like to try to clear some things up and bridge the gap that Bektashis find themselves in. The following is a comment that was posted in reply to the post: Here is my reply: I would like to put my 2 cents in. My father is a convert, who was first very Salafi, after going to school in Pakistan for 6 months to learn Islam. When he traveled to the Balkans he found a more meaningful Islam, and gave his Bay'ah to Sheikh Nazim. He learned more about the Bektashis and became interested in their thought. He took me when I was just becoming a man to Turkey, then met with a Bektashi Baba to become initiated into the order. He is soon to be the Baba of the American chapter. Now my mom's family is very Salafi, and I am very close to them, which in turn led me down a Salafi path. When my father really started teaching and showing me Sufism, I felt awakened in a sense. I learned that nearly all Tariqas trace their spiritual lineage to Imam Ali (as), and I had veneration for my namesake but still considered myself Sunni, following the Hanafi school, the one followed by the Ottomans. I was reading a book written by the founder of the Bektashi Tekke in America, and in it he mentioned constantly the Twelve Imams, so I looked into it more. This eventually led to me calling myself a Shia (although I don't think I've earned that title yet iA). Being around Bektashis and learning about the Tariqa, I can say with no doubt they are Muslim. They profess in the Oneness of God and the Prophethood of Muhammad (PBUH). Bektashis DO NOT dismiss the Salat, or Sawm, or Hajj. They simply do not have them as high on the priority list as others may have them. The belief in personal meditation and Zikr is emphasized much more for Bektashis. I cannot say that they are or are not Shi'a, as I am still an infant in the Jafari Madhhab, and do not know enough about Bektashism. I can say that they are Muslim, and they call themselves Muslim. I can say they have complete love for Rasullulah and the Qur'an. I can say that they believe in the Tawhid of Allah. Final note: the Ismailis should not be ostracized, they have contributed greatly to Islamic thought and theology, and the claims against them are usually baseless and refuted. Please refer to https://ismailignosis.com for a better understanding. Salam brothers and sisters.
  4. Only once did I have the feeling that [God] existed. I had been playing with matches and burned a small rug. I was in the process of covering up my crime when suddenly God saw me. I felt His gaze inside my head and on my hands. I whirled about in the bathroom, horribly visible, a live target. Indignation saved me. I flew into a rage against so crude an indiscretion, I blasphemed... He never looked at me again. Jean-Paul Sartre

  6. Lets say (assumption) that someone says Imam Ali (AS) is closer to Allah than Muhammad (SAW). Will he bear a sin or will he have committed kufr? Furthuremore, what if people start saying the shias of ali are greater than prophets. Some even say that their names alone are superior to the prophets. To what extent can people demote prophet (AS), and venerate the imams as well as the scholars before it become kufr. Is this not the beginning of ghulu. [Mod Note: videos removed.]
  7. Salam Alaikom Am aware and heard names such as: mottaqi, momin, muslims, moztazafin, kafir, hypocrite, unjust, referring to people or group of people, they are synonym to each other and also opposite of it exist, so all of it is called/named generally what! What is a 'group name'; for example can we say, it is characteristics of the group or individual, or 'kinds of people' or certain level of people! WHAT IS A PROPER WORDING FOR ALL OF IT? And also any important group missing that i have not mentioned! Or maybe we can call it horizontal spectrum/ spectrum of 'what'-level of people, kind of people -. A name that can describe it and also other synonyms. Extra aref, aqil and so on. What more synonym is out there? Please let us know. What is the definition of each word? What is called or what we should call it altogether? What is the proper naming! The Host welcomes all to participate and hope all guests benefit from this topic.
  8. (salam) (bismillah) One of our brothers from the HCY forum ([url Edited]) has complied a number of refutations of the RevisitingTheSalaf group (99% refuted apparently) and has asked for the link to this website to be distributed to Shi'a websites and circles for reading. www.twelvershia.net Enjoy. (salam)
  9. Wikipedia has a webpage of the English translation of the Holy Qur'an by Abdullah Yusuf Ali, so I looked at it and thought this will be useful to quickly look up surahs and ayahs. I decided to click on 33:33 which is one of our beloved ayahs about Ahlul Bayt AS. Using my home computer with mouse, I clicked on Surah 33 and I saw the table of ayah numbers and the color of ayah 33 looked a little bit different than all the other ayah numbers. At first I thought somebody else already clicked on that ayah so that is why it looks different. Then I noticed that you cannot click on it, like somebody doesn't want you to read it! How strange! If you want to see 33:33, you have to physically scroll down the page until you find ayah 33. If you are using your phone, can you click on 33:33? Can anyone explain this? Is this an example of kufr in the modern time, right in front of our faces, to try to cover up ayah 33 of Surah 33? :donno: http://wikiislam.net/wiki/The_Holy_Quran_-_Abdullah_Yusuf_Ali
  10. (bismillah) (salam) I am aware that it is a general belief that Hindus are kafir. But are they? Because in their religion there is also a concept of monotheism. they(a larger part of them) believe that there is only one creator of the world ishwara/brahma/vishnu/parmeshwara but sometimes god manifests himself in physical forms on earth and they are called avatars or bhagwans .This is shirk, but does shirk makes someone kafir? if yes then since Christians believe in trinity , are they kafir too? what actually makes someone kafir? what is the defination of kafir? Thanks in advance for those who are willing to help.
  11. I came across a post in a closed forum on FaceBook. In this post, Sunni Muslims were cursing Shias. I responded by defending the persons (all Shias) being cursed as it is wrong to curse others based on their beleifs. I became Muslim at age 17 and have yet to meet a Shia Muslim that treated me with disrespect and therefore I felt that I had to step in. I was then accused of being a kaafir myself as I am defending (kaafirs, i.e. Shias). Even though I am not a Shia or Sunni Muslim, I would like to find answers to the below that was posted as a response to my actions of defending Shias. I realize that I could probably do my own research however, as there are a number of rather uneducated bloggers and posters out there, I am afraid to say that it would take much of my time. If I could grab some books and do further research, I would have done that as well however, being totally blind, I have limited access to decent reading material in Braille. If someone could kindly respond to the below response that I have received, or at least direct me to some meaningful material, I will highly appreciate it. Shukran in advance for your consideration. ******** PROOF ( SHIA ARE KAFIR ) TERRIFYING BELIEFS OF SHI'ITES:- November 28, 2010 at 7:37am TERRIFYING BELIEFS OF SHI'ITES:- Allaah often lies and does mistakes. (usool-e-kaafi, page #328, yaqoob kulaini, vol1). The Munafiqeen (i.e. Sahaba) took very much out of Quran (took out the verses). (Ihtijaj-e-tibri, page #382). When Imaam Mehdi comes he will bring with him the real and original Quran. (Ahsan-ul-maqaal, page #336, safdar Husain najfi). The person who says that the present Quran is complete is a liar because the “complete Quran” was compiled by Hazrat Ali. (Fasl-ul-khitaab fee tahreef kitaab rab-ul- arbab, page #4, Noori Tibri). Abu Bakr is kafir and the one who loves Abu Bakr is also kafir. (Faq-ul-yaqeen, page #690, Baqar majlisi). Abu Bakr was kafir and Zandeeq. (Kashf-ul-asrar, page #69, khamini). There is no difference in Abu Bakr and mirza Ghulam Ahmed Qadiyani. (Jagir fidk, page #690, Ghulam Husain najfi). Neither we believe the Allah nor the Prophet of the God whose khalifah is Abu Bakr. (Anwar-ul-nomania, page #278). I don’t believe in that Allah who gives government to Usman and Ma’avia. (Kashf-ul-asrar, page #107, Khamini). Umar was a real kafir and Zandeeq. (Kashf-ul-asrar, Khaminee, page #119). When imam Mehdi comes he will make alive Hazrat Aa'ishah from death and whip her. (Tafseer saafi, line 16, page #108). Abu Bakr and Umar were agents of Iblees. (Hulyat-ul-mateen, mulla baqar majlisi). Hazrat Khalid bin Walid was not saif-ullah but saif-us-shaitaan. (Manazir-o-baghdad, page #100). All the Prophets will become alive from dead and start the jihad under the leadership of Hazrat Ali. (Tafseer ayyashee, page #181). Real Quran that is compiled by Hazrat Ali will come with imam Mehdi. (Anwar-ul-nomania, page #360). All Prophets are beggar at the doorstep of Ali. (khalqat-e-norania, page #201, Talib Husain karpalwi). All the prophets and Angels are the slaves of the 12 imams except Mohammad (saw). (kaleed manaazra, page #35, barkat ali). 12 imams are the teachers of all Prophets except Mohammad (saw). (Majmoa-e-majalis, page #29). When imam Mehdi comes he will hang Hazrat Abu Bakr and Umar at the holy grave of Hazrat Mohammad (saw). (Majma-ul-ma’arif, page #49). If Gabriel and Mekael had loved Abu Bakr then they would have been in hell too. (Ameer mukhtar, page #8, mirza basharat Husain). After the death of Hazrat Mohammad (saw) all the Sahaba become MURTAD except three. (Roza-e-kafee, page #245) Hazrat Anas Bin Malik, Abu huraira, Amr bin Aas, Ameer Ma’avia and Aa'ishah were worst people of all times. (Makalmaat-e-husainia, page #59). Man can have Nikah (marriage) with man and his mother, sister and daughter too. (Firqa-ul-shiat, Abi Mohammad-ul-Hasan Bin Moosa). HazratAbu Bakr was Mushrik, Umar was Munafiq and Usman was Kafir. (Shia’an-e-ali aur inn kee shaan, page #54, ghulam husain najfi). When imam Mehdi come he will be nude and the first person who Bay’ah him is Mohammad (saw). (Haq-ul-yaqeen, page #347, Baqar majlisi). Hadhrat Umar (Radiallahu Anhu) was the leader of the Munafiqeen (hypocrites). Rasulullah (sallallahu alayhi wasallam) had prayed for the murder of Hadhrat Umar (Radiallahu Anhu). The day on which Hadhrat Umar (Radiallahu Anhu), was murdered by the Persian kafir, Lu'lu', is the most auspicious day of the year. Aa'ishah and Hafsah martyred Rasulullah by giving him poison. (Hayat-ul-quloob, page #870, Baqar Majlisi). Thus these two male munafiqs (referring to Abu Bakr and Umar) and those two female munafiqs (referring to Aa'ishah and Hafsah) agreed to martyr Rasulullah by administering poison to him. (Hayat-ul-quloob, page #745, Baqar Majlisi)
  12. http://arabia.msn.com/news/middle-east/1769434/the-international-topless-jihad-day/ Please tell me what you think of this. I'm too busy doing a facepalm to discuss my own opinions.
  13. what do you guys say if someone says O Allah help me! and when someone else says O Ali help me! or when Christians say O Jesus help me! What do you think of each of these statements?
