wagwan aight basically, i read about istihalah and im bare confuddled innit. Like what even on earth is happening. SO AS WE KNOW ISTIHALAH MAKES ANY NON HALAL CONSUMPTION PRODUCT, SUCH AS GELATIN, WINE, ETC HALAL 100% SINCE IT IS NOT CONSIDRED THE ORIGINAL PRODUCT ANYMORE VIA CHEMICAL CHANGE OR PRODUCTION. IM NOT CONFUSED ABOUT THIS I ALREADY KNOW THIS BIT READ BELOW PLS: iM CONFUSED ABOUT HOW AM I MEANT TO DETERMINE IF something has gone thru istihalah, for example a gelatin is used in marshmellows, but that gelatin is heated, boiled, baked and blah blah, and a marshmellow clearly looks nothing like gelatin (nor tastes looks or feels like it ) many i have heard sheikhs say that any product saying "gelatin" on the back is halal bcuz its gone thru istihalah I DONT DOUBT THEM NOT SAYING I DO BTW !! He has provided an extensive discussion on the question of gelatine, and Agha Khui's fatwa on this matter. Wasalaam, Mustafa Rawji Moderator, ABDG-A ___________________________________________________________________ INITIAL QUESTIONS & ANSWERS: Question 1: What is the ruling on Gelatin? Can gelatin derived from cows and pigs be used? Answer RE: Gelatin On the queston of gelatine, I am quoting what I have written in January 1989 in the Shama newsletter produced in Vancouver, BC. I have just added few comments to further clarify the issue. A. What is Gelatine? Gelatine is an animal protein substance having gel-forming properties, and is used primarily in food products. It is derived from collagen, a protein found in animal skin and bone. This means that gelatine can be derived from animal skin or animal bone. B. The Basic Rule of the Shari`ah: The shari`ah rule about animal skin differs from that of animal bone: SKIN: Animal skin or anything made from it can be considered tahir (pak) only if the animal had been slaughtered Islamically. Consequently, the gelatine derived from animal skin would be considered najis unless we know that the animal had been slaughtered Islamically. [Those present-day mujtahids who consider the animal slaughtered unIslamically as tahir but haram -- their opinion does not affect this answer that much because in their opinion, even if that animal skin is tahir, it is still haram for consumption by human beings.] BONE: Animal bone is considered tahir even if the animal had not been slaughtered Islamically. Bones have been exempted from the rule of maytah [i.e., an animal slaughtered unIslamically or died by itself]. However, this does not include the bones of pigs and dogs. (See Minhaju 's-Salihiyn [vol. 1, p. 109 and vol. 2, p. 336] of the late Sayyid al-Khu`i and al-`Urwatu 'l-Wuthqa, p. 20-21) Consequently, the gelatine derived from animal bones (other than pigs and dogs) is tahir even if the animal was not slaughtered Islamically. C. The Practical Problem: Having stated the above, we are faced with a practical problem: The labels on food products do not specify whether the gelatine was derived from animal skin or animal bones. So what should we do? Can we assume that it has been derived from animal bones and consider it tahir or not? When I sent this question to the late Ayatullah al-Khu`i in December 1989, he replied: "Yes, it can be considered tahir." This answer is based on the shari`ah principle that if an item can originate from two sources: one pak and other najis -- in cases of ambiguity, you can assume that it is pak. D. Accepted that it is tahir; but is it also halal? There are some people who would not be satisfied with the answer of Ayatullah al-Khu`i and pose the following question: "Accepted that it is tahir (pak); but is it halal for consumption as food item?" In my question to Ayatullah al-Khu`i, I gave the example of cheese and sweets with gelatine. It is quite obvious that I was asking the late marja` about eating those items, and not just touching and feeling them!!! However, to satisfy those who would like to see the words "halal and religously eatable," I will quote a detailed answer of the Ayatullah al-Khu`i to three questions sent to him from London. Q. Is gelatine derived from dog or pig tahir? Is gelatine derived from halal animals (like cows, goats, etc) but not slaughtered according to shari`a tahir? Is gelatine derived from non-halal animals other than dog or pig, tahir? A. "If a najis or haram matter from any category whatsoever changes into another than its original category, then it is considered tahir as long as it did not come into contact with another source of najasat. And the rule for gelatine in all the three cases is same as what we have mentioned above. "But in case the gelatine does not change, then: "If it is derived from parts of dogs and pigs or an animal which feeds on human excrement and has not been quarantined, then it is haram and najis. "Similarly, [it is haram and najis] if it is derived from those parts of the maytah which are other than its bones. "But if the gelatine is derived from the bones of other than dogs and pigs, and has not become najis because of a secondary najasat, then it is permissible to eat it and eat whatever has been mixed and submerged into it." The last paragraph of Ayatullah al-Khu`i's answer fully supports what I had written in Shama in Janaury 1989. E. Issue of Istihalah in Gelatine: In the first part of Ayatullah Khu'i's answer, he says: "If a najis or haram matter from ANY CATEGORY whatsoever changes into another than its original category, then it is considered tahir as long as it did not come into contact with another source of najasat." This is based on the rule of istihalah -- chemical change which makes a najis item tahir (mutahhirat). To know if such a change occures in the final product known as gelatine, we have to refer to the experts of food industry. After my article was published, a brother from Minnesota, USA, was kind enough to send for me a copy of an hand-out distributed by General Foods (the manufacturer of Jell-o, the gelatin dessert). A paragraph in that hand-out, in my opinion, clearly gives the expert's view about the chemical change (istihalah) which takes place in manufacturing of gelatine. While reading the below quotation, keep in mind that these people do not have the slightest clue about the issue of istihalah in our shari`ah! It says: "It is interesting to note that during manufacture of gelatin, chemical changes take place so that, in the final gelatin product, the composition and identity of the original material is completely eliminated. Because of this, gelatin is not considered a meat food product by the United States government. The plant is under supervision of the Federal Food and Drug Admininstration. If the government considered gelatin a meat food product, the plant would operate under the Meat Inspection Branch of the Department of Agriculture." (From General Foods Corp. New York.) If this is not istihalah, then what is it? In final conclusion, all types of gelatine is tahir and halal. Can you elaborate on this? What level of change is required? Is beef fat or other animal fat used in cookies/dougnuts/cakes/fries deemed to have been transformed so as to make it halal? Answer: You are talking about istihalah which we have mentioned above in answer to question no. 1. Istihalah means change or more precisely, a chemical change which places the item under a list which is different from its original grouping. The examples you have mentioned do not qualify for istihalah; and are, therefore, still najis and haram. Does this mean that when we see gelatine in a list of ingredients where nothing else is questionable, ethn we are to assume that the gelatine comes from an animal other than a pig or a dog i.e. an animal that is tahir but has not been slaughtered according to Shari`ah. Please answer this question as per Ayatullah Khui and Seestani. ANSWER: As mentioned under "C" in the original answer, you can assume that it is tahir and halal. While it's true, there are disagreements among our Alims about many things, what shall we do when will not have any of then any more? What shall we do when most of them are going to settle in the west and are loosing their core values? We lost the Shirazi family. We lost the Khoeis..who shall guide us when the Shias like Yasser Habib are getting obsessed about Umar, Aisha, Shias like Khamenei getting obsessed with politics??? What shall we do to get us enlightened with the true Islam, true tashayyu??

I have two questions which myself and many others have toiled with in regards to circumcision, the first based on Surah 95:4 Indeed we have created mankind in the best design. The second about the morality of circumcising a child. 1. Circumcision is a once in a lifetime occurrence wherein a certain area of genitalia from the male is cut off, based on the verse I mentioned if we were created in the best design why then do we need to take off a portion of our complete design. Certainly it can't be similar to cutting ones hair and fingernails as these are reoccurrences. 2. When described outside a religious sense the idea of cutting a young child's genitalia can seem to be abhorrent and evil. I will share a video that relays Christopher Hitchens and his objections that occupy this question, and what would be the Islamic response to such an objection. ﷽ Salamunalaikum, Ya Ali adrikni.. Hope everyone who's reading this is doing just fine (Insha'Allah). My name is Hasnain. I am here coz i don't have the faintest idea as to what I am supposed to do with my life... I am in desperate need of help/guidance/advice.. a lot of it. I wanna apologize ahead of time if i come off as a little arrogant, rude, childish and immature.. I really don't want to sound offensive and sorry if this post is going to be a very long one. Before I start sharing my thoughts I would like to say a few things first like I am aware and fully prepared for any kind of response I might get on this also some of you might think of me as a stupid/lazy bum or even criticize me like I am an entitled or privileged person or maybe weird etc., but honestly any of it wont matter coz somewhere deep down I do believe that i deserve stern criticism and wont try to play a victim card I'll gladly welcome any brutal/bitter advice from you brothers as this is the truth and reality. Anyway mincing no words... I am gonna be 30 yrs old in the next couple of months. I have completed my masters and yet I am unemployed. Yup you've read that right I AM still JOBLESS. Not that I am a differently abled person, its mainly because of my anxiety and depression issues. I once was a normal, happy and contented person but some terrible things happened a few years back which made me into what I am today. I've been having episodes lately which I don't feel confident enough to share publicly.. I don't know how to put what I feel in words I just don't know what to do in life, there's this void in me and nothing can seem to fill it. I don't have any sort of phobias for your info Alhamdulillah and also I don't have suicidal thoughts as am aware that its haram and the end result is hellfire and Allah's anger. I Love Ahlebait (عليه السلام) and I pray everyday without any excuse or delay I offer tahajjud prayers as well and I have been actively reciting the Holy Quran and all/various duas and ziarats like Dua e tawassul, dua noor, adila, nudba, kumail, ziyarat ashura, arbaeen, warisa etc. for the fulfilment of desires and rizq.. However, I rarely go out to attend Majalis in the month of muharram and most of the time I watch it on T.V or my device..... I know that I am a sinner and I have sinned heavily in my life but i also do Istighfar abundantly and out of love and fear of almighty.. I cry every night lying on my bed cursing and accusing myself and blaming myself for my amaals not being accepted coz of my past deeds/actions.. never have I ever in my entire life indulged myself in haram activities like smoking, drinking, gambling, womanizing never I swear... I know that no ones perfect or blessed not even me and I even understand that luck has no role in our lives its all based on our efforts & hard work... but I don't know why I cant go out and find some work or get a job.. there's this fear in me that has put me in shackles.. I am concerned that this might be a underlying sickness or some kind of phobia which has cost me a great deal.. all this pressure and stress has been eating me up on the inside.. I lack motivation and I roam aimlessly i am not sure what to do with my career I think this is the end of it.. I DONT even HAVE ANY FRIENDS.. I did have a few in the past but they too left maybe coz I am a worthless guy and they did the right thing I mean who would wanna be friends with someone like me who has panic attacks, depression, anxiety and no future no special talents or set of skills no WORK no social life.. I never leave home I have confined myself behind the walls I never attend events or parties due to my condition.. I feel tired and restless most of the time.. I often go on without drinking water and I don't feel like consuming meals all day as my appetite is mostly lost due to overthinking and freaking out... Many times I go without sleep staying wide awake on my bed lying motionless.. I have no physical activity and I have headaches and I take random medications painkillers for it to subside and rest of the time everything looks bleak and my vision gets blurry I just cant cope with anything.. I have tried some breathing and meditation methods in the past but all in vain now I have started to believe I am on the verge of impending doom... I am devastated, nothing makes sense to me anymore, I have no one to guide me or help me and I am really really scared of seeking professional help (i am afraid of shrinks).. I never wanted to say any of this I just share all this with my Imams (عليه السلام) and Allah (سُبْحَانَهُ وَ تَعَالَى) One Major attribution for my current circumstance I believe is that as a child I was always in trauma thanks to my dad... He was an abusive parent he'd hit me or my mom every time he had the chance.. he always blamed us for all the bad things that have happened in his life even for those things which occurred long before his marriage.. my mum was an angel she was super supportive she even took all the beatings just to save me from that monster :'( I am sorry I cannot and don't want to continue further as my eyes tear up every time I recall all those atrocities.. I know this is also a sin and may be recorded as gheebat.. I beg to Allah (سُبْحَانَهُ وَ تَعَالَى) to do us justice and decide for him and all the oppressors on the day of judgement as he (سُبْحَانَهُ وَ تَعَالَى) knows best and he is the one who can punish them its not up to us as we are merely one of his feeble creation.. I just needed to vent as I am alone in this world I have no one to talk to anymore.. that is why I have tried and mustered up some courage to at least share it here with my Shia brothers.. its okay if no one replies to this I know that I sound weak, miserable and crazy but one thing I know for a fact is that I am not a liar and all of this isn't some kind of made up story my pain is not a lie... I don't need anybody's sympathy or anyone to feel pity for me coz I know that the world owes me nothing :'( I ask for forgiveness from my god and from you all if I have offended anyone among you.. I just want all my troubles to go away and be at ease as soon as possible is all.. as I feel I might be running out of patience and time I don't wanna die empty handed and with sadness by the side of my bed when I am alone in my old age I don't wanna be that person not at any cost I wanna do something meaningful and achieve all my goals but I don't have the courage and right mindset for it. So plz tell me what best options do I have? what should I do? what am I not seeing what is missing from me? I need answers I need resolution. How do I fight my inner demons? how do I come out of this never ending nightmare and this darkness engulfing me? how do I cross the bridge heck or build it in the first place?? please answer me.. someone? anyone??! Please excuse my English its going sideways as I am out of practice coz u probably know why I hope u guys understand what I meant to express. Assalam aleykum brethren. So I've been searching for a while, what a the rules and obligations of a man, while searching/picking his future wive(s) (as in what he must look for or do, and what he must stay away from). Also was searching the rules and obligations of a husband, towards his wife(s). In both monogamy and polygamy cases. I did a bit of searching on my own, but could only find bits and pieces, or quick summaries. But I'm actually looking for the full detailed rulings from A to Z. Just in case it will matter, I follow the rulings of Ayatollah Sistani, and I can't read Arabic. So only English results will help me. Thank you everyone.

I know the method of doing Istibra after relieving myself. It might sound gross but I'll describe it anyway. First after urinating, one pulls upwards thrice from the anus to the scrotum with the middle finger of the left hand. Then by placing the left forefinger on the top and the thumb below the penis, squeeze from the root to the tip. And then press the tip thrice. But here's the problem. The first part where we pull upwards thrice from anus to scrotum, it is hard for me to do somehow and as a result it has become an obsession and I end up taking more than half an hour in the washroom. Can I just skip this part and do the squeezing part??? I have OCD by the way.

Salaam to all I was approached by someone about the matter of Hijab. I will not get into specifics for keeping it short but I want to know of Maraji which have mroe lenient laws regarding hijab By more lenient I mean they do not require covering of hair... etc

In the video Sayed Kamal Haydari appears to have drifted away from the mainstream opinion in regards to hijab and is stating that such matters pertaining to jurisprudence evolve with time. It is unclear to me exactly what is meant when discussing matters pertaining to the hijab which is evolving, for indeed hijab comes in many forms and if he is referring to the hijab which guards the woman against the eyes of men, then I don't see how such a hijab could evolve with time for the deviant temptations that arise from the forbidden look are indeed universal through time and it is imperative in my belief that one maintains the respective hijab which was taught to us by the ladies of Ale-Muhammad. However, if he is referring to the hijab pertaining to interaction then I believe that some points are plausible, but in the end isn't hijab really a matter which is unchanging when referring to the traditions of the Ahlulbayt and rather the restrictions imposed are due to a cultural influence not merely a religious one. What are your thoughts?

Allah (سُبْحَانَهُ وَ تَعَالَى) says in the Glorious Qur'an: [2:187] and eat and drink, until the white thread of dawn appears to you distinct from its black thread; then complete your fast Till the night appears. I like many others have always began my fast ten to fifteen minutes before the Fajir Adhan, however, in consideration of the above verse wouldn't the time for imsaak (refraining from eating/drinking) began at the twilight which is where I live starts at 6:13 whereas the Adhan is called at 5:26. In this case would it be safe to conclude that even after the Fajir Adhan by a couple minutes an individual could continue eating/drinking and if not what am I missing from what the Qur'an is saying. As it appears to be very clear, and the dawn is after the morning prayer, in regards to precaution wouldn't it be excessive to take it nearly an hour before its due time. I am not inquiring in hopes of sparing myself a couple of extra minutes, however, I seek to understand why many of us desist from eating/drinking at the time for the morning prayer where according to the verse above the prescribed time for imsaak is an hour or so after. Simply telling me to refer to my Marj3 without an explanation consistent with the Qur'an/Hadith is not something which interests me as I see that as blind faith or flawed reasoning

Salam respected brothers and sisters, as a Shia Muslim who currently resides in the west there are certain restaurants that provide food that accommodates the regulations in permissibility to consumption. Such restaurants are of other cultures such as Hispanic, Asian, and the list goes on; is it permissible to eat at such restaurants if one consumes only food which is permissible to eat of course; taking into consideration that such restaurants sell alcoholic beverages to those whom desire to consume such intoxicants in bottled or canned form.

Aside from the 5 daily prayers for witch you always have to face Mecca, can you face Jerusalem for your other prayers, is it halal? Do even prayers for which you have to face Jerusalem even exist. And while we're on the topic, are there prayers where you don't have to face Mecca? This may sound stupid to some people, but hey, curiosity isn't a bad thing... most of the time.

It seems a trend for many Muslims to easily labeling as haram on almost anything such as music, sports, driving, riding bicycles, movies, TV, INTERNET including youtube, etc. thus unnecessarily harming health, work and educational opportunities for many, especially for women. Such trend would be a catalyst for attacks on Islamic system as a whole from inside and out if left ignored. In going over how things are ruled as haram(prohibited), let us start with Quran as a source. Ayat can be muHkam or mutashabih. The muHkam /clear verse which can be ‘aam / general, khaas / specific, (amr and nahy)/(imperative and prohibitive), or mushtarak / collective. مشترك Amr(imperative) can be Fard (obligatory by clear textual dalil evidence) wajib(necessary by probable evidence), manduub(recommended), or mubaah(permissible/indifferent). Nahy can be haram or makruh(disliked). So haram ruling is derived from nahy type of MuHkam verse which is absolutely clear by its own. Thus, Quranic source of haram, makruh, mubaah, manduub, wajib or fard ruling is from muHkam verses. Since some of us are subjected to such rulings with real consequences with accompanying execution power of rewards or punishments by rulers, we all must understand the mechanism of the rulings. If the source of such ruling is only from hadith with vague wording with outdated situation, such as allowed traveling distance for women; is it OK to apply the lower standard in deriving hukum than from Quran? Please help me here by correcting me in any part, offering your knowledge in this area of Islamic jurisprudence. Thank you in advance.

Salaam, Say you were on the last days of menstruation, and you also work. What if your menstruation ends whilst you are in your workplace, and by the time you get back home, Zuhr and Asr would be qadha. And typically, you'd go home and do ghusl and pray but it'll be late. It is worthy to note that there is a wudhu place and a praying area at the place, so is there an alternative other than simply going home, then doing ghusl, and then praying late, or, can I do something else, e.g: tayammum, considering the fact that missing prayers is a grave sin?

The ayats and the traditions state that it is Wajib to fulfill this type of promise and it is Harām to go against them. Can someone confirm if the news article that I'm ready below is propaganda, made up anti-iran stuff? And if its not, can someone clarify the bold below? If it did happen, is there proper justification? In reference to one of the worst mass executions in the modern history of the Middle East, being carried by the government officials, Montazri stated that “So, now, without their having carried out any new activities (the prisoners), we execute them. This means that all of us screwed up, our entire judicial system is wrong”. He talks about a 15 years old girl being executed because she liked her brother who was also executed. Amnesty International estimates that in the summer of 1988, the overall number of people executed were 4,500. Some estimates reach as high as over 30,000 people. He adds “In Esfahan, a pregnant woman was among them [those massacred]. In Esfahan they executed a pregnant woman.... [In clerical jurisprudence] one must not execute a woman even if she is a mohareb (enemy of God). “I reminded [the Supreme Leader] of this, but he said they must be executed. In the month of Moharram, at least in the month of Moharram, the month of God and the Prophet, it shouldn’t be like this. At least feel some shame before Imam Hussein. Cutting off all meetings and suddenly engaging in such butchery, dragging them out and Bang! Bang!!! Does this happen anywhere in the world? ...” Montazeri’s audio points to one of the worst crimes against humanity committed in modern history and it continues to occur. It points to the means that the government uses to control the population and silence opposition. It also points to the interconnectedness of Shiite Islam, power and authoritarianism, and it points to the dominance of the IRGC, intelligence, Khamenei and their loyalists. I consort to the notions that nothing is more beautiful than the powers vested in He who ordains law to its highest consequence. For understanding such without understanding sound virtue is a desecration to He who ordained these laws and those without understanding are left to the vicissitudes of unjust causes, orders, and unnatural ways of dealings within the spheres of logical consequence, inference, and logical sound hood which is vested in the laws of those who understand power structures. For there is no power but He for those who disseminate law without understanding such constructs of existence in the highest planes of thought will resolve themselves to natures unfitting for those who practice law and practice the jurisprudence of a higher nature. For natures must be resolved within the constructs and countenances of human beings, in their demeanor, in their presence, in their just presence with their parents, in their just presence with their children, with all prior to embarking unto such avenues of justice. For justice unto the family must come prior to justice in worldly order. For the ties which are vested in the heavens are verily tied within the ties in the hemispheres of the earth. For mankind understands such notions as methods are drawn to rebuke such honest candor for power structures within the linguistics of those who understand law to its highest degree. For those who understand the legacies of those who understood law from the heavenly ordinances understand that love and mercy is paramount prior to embarking upon law which imbues power unto the self. For the self is destroyed amidst power for power unto one is a desecration for there is no power but He for His love and mercy pervades and His power surveys that which is a natural consequence of His love and mercy. For imbuing love and mercy is a necessity and to imbue constructs of law without emotional consequence is to consequent the necessary components of justice into a piece meal articulation which denies the truth of the highest matter in the truest form of understanding. For love decimates and pierces through the highest congruency of falsified natures for such exist within the lessons of law in the highest order of the West and to embark upon such without sound ordinances and knowledge is to decimate one's own integrity. For it is such natures which must be reprimanded and the jurisprudence of such is such that must be reconciled with the logical assets of those who understand sound conduct, grammar, rhetoric, lack of rhetoric, and that which is a necessity prior to the articulations and embarkment in such facets of law. For Law is inherent to the adjudications of all which transpires through the heavens and the earth. And those who deny themselves understanding Law prior to embarking on law, are vested in learning powers of an egregious nature. For it is inherent in our natures to learn of He prior to visiting such realms of thought. For without such understanding, we are left to the trappings of the devils who wish to confuse that which is inherently righteous with that which is meticulously imbued through the power of logical concourses of an unnatural consequence which is vested in the manipulations of those who understand the virtue of the word. For the word is powerful and unto those who understand the necessities of the heavens are forbidden from entering such structures without having a strong foundation of imaan and ihsan. Only those will prosper in the higher ordinances of law in the west.

As-salamu alaykum, dear brothers and sisters. There is an age-old global stigmatisation surrounding lawyers as being deceptive, immorally corrupt and greedy. As insulting as it may sound, it is worth noting that, like any other fabrication, it is not without its share of truth and falsity. However, like any other profession, the legal profession has been given a bad name due to certain lamentable individuals and their equally lamentable practices. In my humble opinion, however, this profession remains to be amongst the noblest ones. On that note, let me ask you this: What practices are condemned, morally and legally (with sharia and teachings of the Ahlulbyt as the comparative standards ), by Islam for legal practitioners? I would really appreciate if lawyers, judges, academics and law students contribute to this discussion. If possible please share personal experiences. I thank you in advance for taking the trouble of contributing to this discourse. May infinite blessings of Allah shower upon you.

Salam Alaikom. What is Religion? We must know about religion, what it is, to develop to know our position to it. How can we practice Islam that is a religion-not any religion but religion to the whole creation beyond derby -, without knowing about what religion is. Sure all are good and excellent followers of Islam, but Islam is a religion so what is religion again! What specific thoughts occur in you, please let us know. If it is not cool to mention I, AGAIN I AM, than maybe we should use 'you'- hmm how logical is this sentence -. Our scholars say religion has three parts-or 3 whatever - that is: Ahklaq, Aqaed and fiqh- respectively Ethic-ethical morality, belief and jurisprudence-Islamic law -. If any religion misses one of these parts, that religion is defected, handicap,or either sick but can we say it is no religion! Why Islam is the last holy religion to humanity? You have probably confronted the above question in your life! In this topic following questions should be dealt with: What is religion? What is a defected religion? If we accept the concept of religion, than why should we accept Islamic religion and not any other Ibrahimic religion; what answer is needed here? Why Islam the final stage, what can we say about the development of religion because we read in the holy Quran, some Prophets Peace upon Them said that we are muslim! Hope this topic is successful Allah will, and this 'riter a excellent host to guests participating in this topic. Please leave your view and thoughts, this servant will be frugal in using posts to develop text in this regard.

Salam All was debating whether to put this in the general discussion thread, but knowing SC, this thread will be forgotten about in a matter of days, since mutah and mahdi ism dominate discourse. What got me to writing this thread was, apart from my frustrations, the world people's conference on climate change and the rights of Mother Earth (Gaia), which was held on Bolivia. The countries attending drafted the Universal Declaration of the rights of Mother Earth. When I looked that up it led me to the Gaza foundation, and what caught my eye was, you guessed it, the clear absence of Islamic representation. So, the goal of this thread is to document the absenteeism of Islamic jurisprudence and the scholars researching fields of research working for the betterment of society and the world. Irrespective of the fiqh school you follow, I would like to expose the clear irresponsible behaviour of our religious establishment to contribute in fields we clearly could have influenced. I start with what this: there is a document produced by indegiounous people's around the world that lists the rights of Mother earth and our responsibility towards her. There are zero Muslims/Shia contribution to this document. We need to work towards a universally acceptable Islamic view on how to treat the environment as it is intended to be treated.
