So now, from my understanding no one knows what their end game is, in the sense of heaven and hell. In islam at least. But this keeps getting challenged. For instance, I was reading an obituary from a gentleman of christian faith the other day and came across a line that I always seem to come across that goes a little like "Mr ____ was a very loved father, grandfather, and husband who is now in heaven". Assalamualaikum everyone, This is my first post on Shiachat so lets see how it goes. Today I spoke to two friends about Islam again. They are both agnostic, one used to be a practising Christian, the other a Buddhist. We talked about religions and Islam and none of us seem to see eye to eye about most of it. What I got stuck on during our discussion is: How are non-believers/kafirs treated in Islam, particularly on Judgement Day? This is a sensitive question. After a non-Muslim converts to Islam and his/her relatives end up not converting before their deaths, what follows according to Islamic teachings? Will his/her parents go to Hell for not being Muslim, while he/she goes to Paradise (if he/she would turn out to be a good Muslim, of course)? Or, will his/her relatives be saved from Hell thanks to him/her choosing for Islam (I remember someone telling me something like this)? It's such a horrible thought that the parents of a converted Muslim cannot join their child in the afterlife.
