  1. I like to share the video of the Juloos/ gathering of Ashura in Karachi, Pakistan this year 2023. This is necessary for information of those who are not aware of peaceful and religious rituals performed according to the sayings of Shia scholars.
  2. The Struggle of Faith and Challenges in Modern Society - Maulana Syed Muhammad Rizvi | Shahadat of Hazrat Muslim bin Aqeel June 28th, 2023 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m0ZifVkh0gE - Verse 15 of Surah al-Ḥujarāt defines the characteristics of a mu’min (believer) as someone who believes in Allah and His Messenger without any doubt and struggles in Allah's path with their wealth and themselves. - The term "struggle" refers to jihad, which includes both minor and major jihad. - The major jihad is the spiritual struggle against desires that are contrary to Divine teachings. - The modern challenge lies in society's inclination to follow sinful desires - This challenge is not limited to adults but is also impacting children who are being exposed to various agendas - The essence of imān (faith) is to cultivate a sense of servitude (‘ubudiyyah) towards Allah. - Hazrat Muslim bin ‘Aqil's example is mentioned as a good servant of Allah who achieved this status through obedience to Allah, the Prophet, Imam Ali, Imam Hasan, and Imam Husayn. - The challenges faced by Hazrat Muslim bin ‘Aqil in Kufa, including the dwindling support and eventual abandonment by the people. - This eventually ended with Muslim bin ‘Aqil being left alone after the prayer, with no one remaining to support him.
  3. The Importance of Leniency with Others in Your Life; Akhlaq in Your Interactions - Maulana S M Rizvi| Shahadat of 5th Imam Muhammad al-Baqir ((عليه السلام).) Monday June 26th, 2023 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u1a80DCQ5Lw - Some of the sayings of the Fifth Imam on various moral and ethical issues - Imān is not just an intellectual act of believing; it means a commitment to follow the teachings of Islam. - Character building is tied to the concept of imān. - To have a good akhlāq means to be lenient in dealing with the people, in words & actions - Look at the example of the parents, especially when they are in their old age - Maintaining the ties with the relatives has been greatly emphasized in Islam - Treatment of a neighbor is also important in akhlaq - Imam al-Bāqir (a) played an important role in promoting the ‘aza of Imam Husayn (a) through the process of ziyarat
  4. Salaams I thought I'd share this lecture by Dr. Chris Hewer (A Christian) on Imam Hussain(عليه السلام) especially for this month of Muharram, which I feel respects Imam Hussain(عليه السلام) and his marytrdom. He has other lectures of course, but this talk focuses more on the aspect of martyrdom between the faiths that serve to broaden understanding. I thought this would be helpful for those who identify as Christians to be able to relate.
  5. Hope all of you have watched the movie Mukhtar made in Iran which is in 40 episodes. (English subtitles and Arabic & Urdu dubbed versions are available on Youtube). I'm watching it now with a bunch of others, all I can say - the movie imprints on your mind. We all have seen various positive changes coming in our lives by watching the movie. We are preparing a list of lessons learned as we are watching the movie which I'll post here. We are still not done with all the episodes yet. I highly recommend to watch it if you want to prepare yourself for the Last Imam (atf) and to have a better understanding on how to counter various tricks of wicked Imperialists. Allah bless all those actors, directors, financiers, and whoever helped in making the movie.
  6. people are losing day by day their hope in the return of our promisedsaviour... with a stab in all our lonely and broken heart, again a year just passed without his return A lot of people who are starting to create lots of hate towards the shia-community while we haven't done anything towards them, A lot of hate only for the skin-tone you have, or how about the pedophillia, Rape and LGBT who are starting to be seen as normal things.. And above all the world is getting ruled by the most mental-corrupt governemenst who cant deal with justice at all! I think its a shame for all our shias to stay silent while the world is starting to become a huge disguisting mess! why are we quiting talking about our living imam who is remembering us every day and prays for us! its not that we are waiting for the imam but rather the opposite! our imam is waiting for us! without any actions from us then clearly we cant expect him to return... why is it that hard to let the entire world know about ahlalbayt and imam mahdi aj? with all these technology and even 5G (in progres ) why cant we use it for usefull things like spreading shia-islam and silencing all our enemies for well! when are we all shias collecting together and taking that step against injustice just like hussain as who was an hero on the battle of karbala! or how about the speech of zeynab (عليه السلام) on the court of yazid (LA), where are the ones who claim to love the ahlalbayt? where are the ones who claim to follow the foodsteps of hussain? where are the ones who claim to misssing walking arbaeen this year? our holy imam is not abandoning us.. he walks with us, knows about our matters and helps us just like a shining sun behind the clouds, and yet we are the ones who walk away from him and leave him disapointed. lets we all make a that hype turn back again talking about his wellbeing and our closeness to him. and preparing for his return.. this world needs justice and its getting crazier day by day!! BTW Does anyone has good news about our promised saviour? did someone got good news about him? trough a dream, vission or even a small unnoticed miracle made by Allah (سُبْحَانَهُ وَ تَعَالَى) or whatsoever?

  8. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2HJqJuGS9WE http://www.duas.org/Moharram/gift_from_imam_husain.htm This is the Dua I am referring to. It says in the last line of the translation: "Send blessings upon Muhammad and his progeny and fulfill for me…(mention your wishes)" I do not speak Arabic. 1) should I start speaking English to mention my wishes? 2) can I just recite the Dua and stop at: صَلِّ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ وَ آلِ مُحَمَّدٍ وَ افْعَلْ بِي 3) can you tell me something typical in Arabic to finish the Dua? (by the way I need the accents to know how to recite) Thanks so much. I love this Dua. It is beautiful as well as the story behind it will be a great deed to help me recite it correctly.

  10. Asalamualikum. In this post I will be narrating a dream I had several months ago in which I saw Imam Hussain (عليه السلام). The purpose of me sharing this dream is so I can get advice and would preferably like to recieve insight and understanding, of this dream. In this dream, me and my mother are in our house and are wearing black/white clothing, and it seems like we are preparing to commemorate for the day of 10th Muharram. Whilst we are doing so, we feel as if someone is by the main door and my mother opens it. Standing are 3 people that seem like if they are a family (a couple and a daughter). We have them enter in our house and me and my mother have a room prepared for them so they could stay. As they make themselves comfortable, me and my mother approach a larger room of our house, but as we enter, the room is actually one of the rooms of another house of ours in a different country. (so its like we changed country, the minute we enter the large room of our old house, but it actually becomes one of the rooms of our house that we have in another country) Then suddenly we hear a loud thunder and immediately the sky goes black and we think to ourselves that it is the day of Qiyammah. (The end of the world) and the world is going to get destroyed. As we run towards the terrace of the room and step outside, I see the events of Ashura taking place in the sky, in which the clouds seem to be telling the story of ashura, and I see in cloud form, Imam hussain ((عليه السلام)) and him battling. Then I experience a huge gush of wind and the minute we return back to the large room from the terrace I see Imam Hussain (عليه السلام). (I could tell it was him because of the feeling I got) He was very tall and I could not see his face. He was wearing a very large robe. He was very angry and he rebuked me and mother for allowing the family to stay at our home. We apologised to the Imam, whilst crying and ask what we should do to repent so we could gain forgiveness. He then from his robe he took out a rusty, black handle knife/dagger and told me to kill the daughter of the family that was staying at our home. I reluctantly accept, but I remember myself thinking why is the Imam telling me to commit murder. However since it was the order of the Imam I take the knife bravely. My mother also tells me that I have to fulfill this duty since the Imam told me to do so. When I exit the large room, Im back at the old house (we changed countries again) and I hide the knife behind my back. Me and my mother both enter the room which we gave to the family, and then my mother exits and closes the electricity supply of the house. It then goes dark. The family begins to worry as to what happened. I lure the daughter of the family to another room and tell her to stay in the room with me. I lay down on the bed and then I immediately see her change in her behaviour. I sense, dirty, and immoral vibes from her. And she lays down right next to me and the moment she was about to commit a dirty act, I stab her in the stomach. She dies instantly. I exit the room and I am now worried since I believe I have committed murder. My mum gives me hope and tells me the Imam had ordered me to do this so there must be good in this. I return back to the large room and see Imam Hussain((عليه السلام)) laying down on the right side of the bed. I proceed to him and theres a stool right next to bed and I sit on it, whilst crying and asking for forgiveness and I tell him that Ive done what he asked me to do. He gets up and kisses my forehead, and when I close my eyes I see gardens, jewels, gold, mountains, nature, (paradise like things) And thats when I immediately wake up. I got this dream just after the morning prayer. If this is of any use. I am an 18 year old unmarried girl. I would like to request you all to please interpret what this dream means. Since I believe I have a duty to carry out but I don’t know what and how.
  11. As salam alaykum, hope you're all well. I have a presentation on a historical person in history class, and I chose Imam Hussain (عليه السلام) in hope of learning more about him, and I want to present about his life as genuine and proper as possible, since it's in front of mostly people that have never heard of him or just heard misconceptions. I unfortunately can't say I know much about the Imams and their lives, so I was wondering if someone could help me. Basically I have to choose an issue around his life, and try to answer that through the presentation, I'm thinking of going with why did he fight at Karbala. I don't want to give any false information, therefore I was wondering if someone could help me a bit with his life, such as his birth (where he was born, when), death, where he lived, education, work etc, basically the beginning of his life. What he has done that made him so famous today (I can't just say he is a Shia Imam, but also how he is relevant for non Muslim history as well in general). Theories on him and why he did what he did, his thoughts, and view on it all. I also have to talk about the how community and society around him was at the time, how people were treated, difference he made and other important things in his life. I would appreciate it a lot if someone could help me with this, I personally have just started getting closer to God, and my religion therefore I don't really know that much besides the basic, and I don't have anyone to ask. It would mean a lot if someone personally told me, or gave me links to sites that have answers, please don't provide information if you don't have the source. Thank you so much to anyone that helps.
  12. Assalam o alikum Everyone. Could you guys please help me understand this quote by Imam Hussain a.s?
  13. Salaam, Within 50 years of the Prophet's (saw) demise, his grandson gets brutally killed in Karbala along with his family and friends. The Prophet's (saw) progeny is made captive, dragged across the Ummah's domain and imprisoned. One would think that every single Muslim would ask this question - what happened? Instead, all we get are fingers pointed at us about how not to remember the Progeny of the Prophet (saw). Based on the Sunni propensity for violence over cartoons and movies, is it going too far to say that my sunni brothers would have held protests, cried foul and screamed for justice if Yazeed's forces just drew cartoons of the Progeny of the Prophet (saw)? At the very least, my sunnis brothers would have asked, "What happened?"
  14. The simple question that comes in mind of a common person is why the companions of the prophet saww (famous in sunnis) or their sons/ tabiyeen did neither participate in the battle of Kerbela along with Imam Hussain AS against yazeed (LA) nor they were martyred? What kind of support these companions (famous in sunnis) or their sons provide to Imam Hussain AS against yazeed and his army? The discussion should be conducted in an academic manner free of insults please.
  15. Salam Alaykum brothers and sisters in Islam and equals in humanity. This is a poem I wrote and recorded this poem for this year's Arbaeen period. May Allah shower you all with blessings infinitely. Feedback and comments are appreciated.

  17. Imam Hussain (AS) who did not accept the tyranny of Yazid and his immoral manners, was invited by the people of Kufa [ a city in ancient Iraq]. They asked him to help them and declared their opposition to Yazid's unlawful ruling. But, they did not keep their promises and finally left Imam Hussain (AS)'s representative alone to be martyred by Kufa forces. http://salamislam.com/content/invitation-infidels
  18. Assalaamualeykum, I was going through the quotes of all the great leaders who had praise the goal and aim of Imam Hussain (عليه السلام), then I stumble upon the quote of Mahatma (Great Soul) Gandhi, this made me eager to dig more about the authenticity of his quote. I was searching for his saying on Imam Hussain from any book or letter source, unfortunately all that was available online was mere a quote not a reference was mentioned, this made me more curious to find out whether all his saying are legit or are they all forged. Then I happened to find the website https://www.gandhiheritageportal.org/ , which have authentic letters of Mahatma Gandhi in a Book form, which is named as 'The Collected Works Of Mahatma Gandhi' and it is in 100 Volumes. It is on their website which says, "A one-time authentic documentation of Gandhiji’s available writings was carried out meticulously, and conscientiously under the CWMG project of the Government of India in 1956." And after going through this book, I have collected some authentic sayings of Mahatma Gandhi regarding Imam Hussain (عليه السلام). And I was amazed how well this Hindu leader adopts his life by following the footsteps of Imam Hussain (عليه السلام). Saying #1: Imam Hasan and Hussein refused to acknowledge the authority of Yazid, for it would have been wrong to do so. For this reason, that is, in order to preserve their honour, they became martyrs. Source: The Collected Works Of Mahatma Gandhi, Vol 7, Letter #89, Pg 122-123. Scan Page: Pg 122: http://oi63.tinypic.com/2lldci8.jpg Pg 123: http://oi64.tinypic.com/9kr18z.jpg Saying #2: Mr. Shahji Saheb, after referring to what Hazrat Imam Hussein had suffered, said that what had happened to Ram Sundar Pundit might also happen to a Muslim priest. Unable to bear this thought, he had forced himself to be prepared to follow the Pundit to gaol. Source: The Collected Works Of Mahatma Gandhi, Vol 7, Pg 418. Scan Page: Pg 418: http://oi65.tinypic.com/2mw8qxw.jpg Saying #3: Imam Hassan and Hussain were merely two boys. They felt that an injustice had been done to them. When called upon to surrender, they refused. They knew at the time that this would mean death for them. If, however, they were to submit to injustice, they woud disgrace their manhood and betray their religion. In these circumstances, they yielded to the embrace of death. The heads of these fine young men rolled on the battlefield. In my view, Islam did not attain its greatness by the power of the sword but entirely through the self-immolation of its fakirs (saints). Source: The Collected Works Of Mahatma Gandhi, Vol 13, Letter #395, Pg 518. Scan Page: Pg 518: http://oi65.tinypic.com/2mfllol.jpg Saying #4: Muslim students have before them the example of Imam Hasan and Husain. Islam has not been kept alive by the sword, but by the many great fakirs (saints) with a high sense of honour whom it has produced. Scan Page: Pg 48: http://oi67.tinypic.com/11tolz4.jpg Pg 49: http://oi63.tinypic.com/2hrl5zo.jpg Saying #5: The marks of a Kshatriya spirit are not cruelty and hard-heartedness; it consists, rather, in forbearance, readiness to forgive, compassion, nobility, apalayanam (Not running away from battle in fear) and the strength to stand unshaken and fearless even under a shower of bullets. The true Kshatriya does not kill but receives blows on himself. Imam Hussen and Hassan were Kshatriyas. Their oppressor was a tyrant. Source: The Collected Works Of Mahatma Gandhi, Vol 20, Letter #60, Pg 52. Scan Page: Pg 52: http://oi64.tinypic.com/2qiprmb.jpg Note: Kshatriya (from Sanskrit kśatra, "rule, authority") is one of the four varna (social orders) of the Hindu society. The Sanskrit term kśatriya is used in the context of Vedic society wherein members organised themselves into four classes: kshatriya, brahmin, vaishya and shudra. Traditionally, the kshatriya constituted the ruling and military elite. Their role was to protect society by fighting in wartime and governing in peacetime. Saying #6: In this connection, it would be well to ponder over the lives and examples of Harishchandra, Prahlad, Ramachandra, Imam Hasan and Imam Husain, the Christian saints, etc. How beautitful it would be if all of us, young and old, men and women, meditated, till next week, on these thoughts at all hours of the day, whetther working, eating, drinking or playing, and were rewarded with innocent sleep? 20. It is the ardent desire of every Shia to visit the Holy shrines of their immaculate Imam (a.s.). Most of us had that opportunity before and will visit them again, Insha Allah while there are many who will go to them soon. Making your presence in front of them requires more of a sincerity, love and passion alongwith recognition of their rights. Arbae'en is near and it is the best opportunity for each one of us to call out labbaik. Those yearning for the Ziyarat of Ab'a Abdillah should take a step ahead and start with preparations, as in: Do I have my passport ready? Is it nearing expiry? Procedure for obtaining visa (Tour operator will take care if you are going with Qafela) Applying for leaves in office in advance. What about my finances? If it is less, how can I arrange extra amount? Which tour operators should I go with? Any other obstacles/hurdles, etc. Please note this thread is not for debating on any particular aspect or method or rewards of Ziyarat but a means to get ourselves prepared for it. The rewards and merits of Ziyarat of Imam Hussain (a.s.) is much more than can be outlined here. I'll mention but a few traditions to get an overview of it's great virtue, in the next post. You are welcome to present ahadith and how are you going to take part in Arbae'en this year.
  21. Can you please help with these doubts that I've met recently and since then i feel like all of the waqia e karbala is twisted . 1. Was imam hussain going to koofa to build an army if yes then it was a good strategy by opponents to kill them when they were alone. 2. Why the opponents didn't kill imam sajjad in karbala as without him there would've been no shias and eventually everybody would've obeyed yazid. 3. Imam hussain was forced to leave madina but he left a daughter there to whom no harm was made. Please help me clear my concepts
  22. Salaam alai kum, There is no wrong or right answer here but just something to ponder over, reflect and shares thoughts and ideas. This is meant as a way to praise our Imams. Imam Ali (a.s.) was martyred while in sajdah. Imam Hussain (a.s.) was martyred in sajdah. If you had to compare the two, how would you? I don't mean which is better but how they are different yet similar. brother @Kazemi - I would love it if you can write a poem on this...
