I would like to know view on Psychopathy and psychopaths regarding people who were born without empathy. In Islam our core principles are based off of empathy and caring for others. How can can Islam cater to one who has no emotion? These people do exist, and are very good at hiding their psychopathy and its not like in the movies where all of them are killers. Their brains simply function on a different level than the average human, they can feel nothing on an emotional level. I am particularily talking about those who are born with this condition. Also they still know right from wrong but chose to only benefit themselves, do we have any ahadith on this or saying from the ahlulbayt? Maybe a brother/sister with psychopathy can pitch in?

suffering Why had Allah left them like this?
Eric muhalla posted a topic in General Islamic Discussion
Asalamu Alaikum, Now I have these two family members of mine. One is my uncle and the other is my cousin. Yet the thing about them both is that they have a mental illness. I'm not sure what its called but the main issue, lets start with my uncle, is that he has issues when it comes to talking or working. That means that he can't really do much in life. Now he just lives at my grandmother's house, he got a job once but it just didn't work out. He'll most likely not get married and I heavily doubt that will change and he just keeps doing the same routine over and over. Eat, sleep, repeat. My cousin now has a similar issue. She had an extra amount of fluids in her brain that needed to be removed at a very young age. My aunt did five brain surgeries for her and she tried her best to go to school but she couldn't go any farther than the ninth grade. She tried to be a hair designer but that failed also because its hard for her to learn complex things. She will also most probably not get married since she has issues with holding long or moderate conversations. All she can do is just sit at home and do the same thing my uncle does. When we have a family reunion I see her just sitting in the middle and frowning the whole time and not saying a word because she knows that if she wants to start a conversation it will always end in a awkward way since she can't go any farther than a few structured sentences. Now I understand that Allah gives all of us a test but when it comes to my uncle and my cousin. Just why? They have no chance of doing anything productive in society. To put it to the extreme, they are a waste of space. My grandmother cries over how her son is like that and my mom didn't ask my aunt about any details about my cousin either. But I know that my aunt is pretty much the same thing like my grandmother. So really though, just why does it have to be this way? Like all those people who have serious mental issues such as Benjamin's button disease, were they act like a child even if they're a grown adult. I know that they'll go to heaven and all but seriously though this is a terrible life to live for the person and all their loved ones. -

My dad has been saying he is ill, I ask what kind of illness, he says he is fine physically and he feels spiritually ill. He has been down like this for a few days now, do you guys know any cure about this kind of spiritual illness. I told him to speak to God, he said that won't do it. I don't know what else, sometimes when I feel down I just sit at prayers and talk to God, it cheers me up so much. My Father is a learned man and he still doesn't know the cure to his spiritual problem. He does his wajibat and he doesn't sin so I don't know what's wrong.

Salaams I'd appreciate peoples honest responses here as I am in a bad place mentally.... I was born with a genetic condition which to briefly explains means that my collagen is weak and therefore I have flexible joint and I walk with somewhat of a limp. This condition is with me for life and as a result it also means that should I ever marry and want a child them there is a 50% chance that he/she will get the condition. I've certainly had ups and downs in my life and it has been tough to deal with my condition. However, that hasn't stopped me, I can walk, have gone to uni, got a degree, got a high end job and traveled the world. I do have to make adjustments to my life (for example to extreme sports) but on the whole its an invisible illness (as in you wouldn't know I had a disability if you saw me face-to-face). However, I am really worried that I won't ever get married as a result of the 50% chance of passing this on, this is the issue which crushes my confidence and I feel worthless everytime I think about it. Part of me thinks that given the fact that females do want to bear children, the thought of the child being ill/born with a genetic condition could be a no-no. I would like peoples honest opinions here, if someone approached you with a similar condition would you say yes/no, would the fact that it can be passed on be something which you could not live with? Like I said I am a tough cookie as I've had to deal with a lot in my life so you dont need to be nice and give me an answer designed to soften the blow. Anyway, thank you for reading...

(salam) all A dear friend's mom was diagnosed with cancer (a brain tumor) last week. Today we found out that it's stage III. Does anyone know of any Dua that cures Cancer? I've already checked duas.org, and I've googled but haven't been able to find anything relevant. Also, they don't live close to where I live, so the Duas that require you to blow on the patient, or on food or water for the patient won't work. Please help! Thanks.
