  1. Hello. First of all, English is not my main language of communication, so if there is something you didn't understand about my post, please do mention it and I will try to simplify it. I need advice in the matter of my family. I am a very temperamental person and loose my cool very easily if someone offends me. I am the older one of my siblings but they don't respect me and they bicker with me all the time. I try to ignore it and be the bigger person, but when it comes to them insulting me I won't sit and listen to it. Instead of turning the other cheek I respond with two fists ready to fight. I know it's wrong and recently I have tried to remain calm during these situations; sometimes successful, most of the times not. It disappoints me deeply that my parents almost never react in any way to the insults and disrespect by siblings towards me, on the contrary, they side with the siblings and turn the whole situation to make me the bad guy. I yell at my parents at these events and on rare occations curse them. I have repented and fallen back into my old habits multiple times. I know God is fair, but I can't help but think that I'm in a very unfair situation: siblings don't respect me and use disgusting words about me, parents don't do anything about it and when lose my temper I'm the one who will be punished by God, all my prayers and fasts are in vain because I shout at them (parents). What should I do from a religious perspective? Am I the wrong one? I have thought about cutting ties with the whole family once I get financially independent and move out, but cutting ties is (apparently) also haram. I feel that I'm in a loop where I will do haram regardless of my decisions. Thanks for reading.
  2. I hope the person reading this is well, Insha'Allah. After getting into bad company and facing subsequent losses, I thought about one thing. Many people often quote the Hadith where the Mercy for All Worlds (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) says that Heaven is at the feet of mothers. Surely, this also means that if person A harms person B, such that person B's mother is hurt, even so far that person B's mother cries, especially if Person B is a victim of your Zulm, then despite Person A being good with their mother, Person A has done Zulm on Person B's mother. Due to obvious motherly love, Person B's mother will complain to Allah (سُبْحَانَهُ وَ تَعَالَى) about Person A's actions. As such, is it logical to think that Person A is set for an appropriate retribution through the 'Adalat of Allah (سُبْحَانَهُ وَ تَعَالَى)? The Hadith seems to imply that treatment to one's mother is a big determinant towards one's position in the Hereafter, and judging by thge wording, I find that it not only talks about one's own mother, but other mothers as well. Surely, Allah (سُبْحَانَهُ وَ تَعَالَى) delivers 'Adl for the Mazloom, so with this logic, is it justified to think that Person A's Hereafter is not a Heavenly one? I found this to be an interesting topic, but since I am so unlearned, I thought I would ask the much more learned people at ShiaChat. JazakAllah
  3. 99 0UT OF 100 WILL GO TO HELL. There this Haidth which say out of every 100 muslims 99 will go to hell.-Sahih Bukhari 8: 76: 536. Further it is said: In end of times there will be war upon war. 99 out 100 will die. The one who got killed and one who will be killing the innocent will not know the reason of his action. Both are going to go in Hell. Now I have question regarding this Haidth 1. Is this hadith is only for end of times or for whole UMMAH since its birth? 2. Whom this hadith refereeing to? Muslims, Non-Muslims or Both? 3. Most Important question. Why will innocent one. Who got killed will be going to hell? I will be really glad it someone can guide be step by step. JazakAllah. YA ALI MADAD
  4. I know there is a difference of opinion about this one. Was Pharaoh's profession of faith in the last moments of his life accepted or rejected? وَجَاوَزۡنَا بِبَنِىۡۤ اِسۡرَآءِيۡلَ الۡبَحۡرَ فَاَتۡبـَعَهُمۡ فِرۡعَوۡنُ وَجُنُوۡدُهٗ بَغۡيًا وَّعَدۡوًا ؕ حَتّٰۤى اِذَاۤ اَدۡرَكَهُ الۡغَرَقُ قَالَ اٰمَنۡتُ اَنَّهٗ لَاۤ اِلٰهَ اِلَّا الَّذِىۡۤ اٰمَنَتۡ بِهٖ بَنُوۡۤا اِسۡرَآءِيۡلَ وَ اَنَا مِنَ الۡمُسۡلِمِيۡنَ‏ "And We took the Children of Israel across the sea, and Pharaoh and his soldiers pursued them in tyranny and enmity until, when drowning overtook him, he said: 'I believe that there is no God except the One in whom the Children of Israel believe, and I am of those who submit themselves to God’" (10:90) So he seems to have repented and believed in Allah (سُبْحَانَهُ وَ تَعَالَى). My opinion is that it that his repentance is accepted because God's mercy is too vast to not accept the repentance of someone who is asking for divine mercy. The Qu'ran says ‘It is He who responds to the man in need when he calls on Him and removes the evil' (27:62) And in other verses in the Qu'ran it says, ‘Let the people of Pharaoh enter’ (Hell) and not: Pharaoh and his people. If the verses had said Pharaoh and his people, it would be clear that Pharaoh was also in Hell, but the verse only states that his people enter there. Thoughts??
  5. Why is there no zakaat or khums on gold jewellery when it is actually like a savings for most people which can be converted into money? Especially in the sub continent that's a way of savings. While in the Sunni school of thought, they have scary stories of what will happen to those ladies who don’t pay zakaat on the gold jewellery they have. Did I miss something?
  6. Salam alaikum, could you please explain how jannah will be like for people that will go jannat and how will jahanam be for people that will go jahanam.... with quranic references or hadiths. Jazakallah
  7. I’ve always been religious and started praying at a young age by myself. It was just me and Allah- like Allah was my only friend. One day I watched a video on YouTube and it said that how Allah is so far away. I felt like Allah was really faraway. Slowly it started becoming is Allah really there? I know it says that Allah’s closer to our jugular vein but I just I don’t know. My Imaan is so weak that the belief in Allah is going up and down. One minute it’s there an the next minute it’s not. It’s like my heart doesn’t want to accept like I feel a tightening in my chest. I want to have that connection again. I’m 18 and people usually come to me for advice like my cousins, aunties, school mates and friends. I feel SO fake. They will go to heaven not me. It seems like my heart wants to accept other fake religions but I know that if I do I will go to hell. I can’t get these shirk thoughts of Jesus being the... I can’t even say it. It’s like I’m starting to believe what’s in my head. Help! The religion Islam feels like a burden but I’m constantly asking Allah to guide me to the right way. I want to understand Islam simply. It’s like other people believe and I don’t because my heart is blind. I see so many Christians convert to Islam but there I am. Was I doomed from the beginning? I have a very low tolerance for pain and really don’t want to go hell. I’m scared. I want to die a shaheedan! Why is this happening to me? I know that if I were to die right now I would go hell. Yet the people around me who take advice from me and benefit from me will think I’ve gone heaven. I cry so much and try to have hope but I can’t. I haven’t told any family members or any friends. I really can’t.
  8. There are verses where Quran clearly states how Allah is going to punish wrongdoers, hypocrites and those who didn't believe in Allah and his Messengers. But can we be certain about that Allah is surely going to put non-Muslim and wrongdoers in Hell? Can we say such things absolutely or do we have to leave this on Allah? There are 2 purpose I am asking this question, kindly give answer according to that prescriptive. 1. When I tell someone, non-muslim will not go to heaven, I feel little hesitated (I don't know why), I just want to confirm isn't it part of our believe to be clear that Allah mercy is for Muslims and only pure ones are going to Heaven. 2. I openly tell my friends even cruel Muslim who did wrong will not go to heaven, but they say "You should not say such thing as you don't know they might have repent and this decision only belongs to Allah". Is that so? Did Allah prohibit us to say such things, even regarding cruel rulers?
  9. I need help I sinned very bad. My sin is scaring me I fell like I'm going to go to hell when I was 14 years old I got tricked by the people I called friends they made me smoke weed I messed up very badly my dad is dead and I want to meet him again will I meet him will I go to hell or heaven please help me
  10. So now, from my understanding no one knows what their end game is, in the sense of heaven and hell. In islam at least. But this keeps getting challenged. For instance, I was reading an obituary from a gentleman of christian faith the other day and came across a line that I always seem to come across that goes a little like "Mr ____ was a very loved father, grandfather, and husband who is now in heaven". Every obituary I read is just like BOOM insta-heavan. This is not limited to Christianity, even in my own family, I've seen it. I recently had a family member pass away and her mother was saying that she wants to die and go back to her daughter in heaven. I wasn't being mindful and unfortunately blurted out "how do you know that your going to heaven?". She wasn't taken back by my question, rather, she said "when you know, you know". Why do so many people assume these days that everyone is just resting in heaven.... in our faith, is this allowed?
  11. How can God justify giving eternal punishment to anyone? Our life is very short, and we can only commit a finite amount of sins, so how can god give eternity in hell for a finite number of sins? Even if someone spent a million years sinning how can god justify eternity, a million years of punishment at most, but eternity?
  12. Assalamualaikum everyone, This is my first post on Shiachat so lets see how it goes. Today I spoke to two friends about Islam again. They are both agnostic, one used to be a practising Christian, the other a Buddhist. We talked about religions and Islam and none of us seem to see eye to eye about most of it. What I got stuck on during our discussion is: How are non-believers/kafirs treated in Islam, particularly on Judgement Day? My knowledge is limited but I would like to learn more too about this, as its quite a relevant topic for non-muslims. Personally, I would like to believe that our Lord is omnibenevolent and that non-believers as well as believers of different religions will be judged by Allah according to the good and bad they have done in their lives. I was sent an excerpt from Surah Yunus, 10:4 specifically, saying: those who disbelieved will have a drink of scalding water and a painful punishment for what they used to deny. Now this was a Sahih International translation they found online. So, main question repeated is: how will non-believers and theists from other religions be treated and judged by Allah? Thanks
  13. (bismillah) (salam) I hope you are all in the best of health and Imaan. As we all know belief is one of the fundamental requirements for success in the afterlife: "By time! Verily, man is at loss, except for those who believe and perform goods and exhort one another to the truth and to endurance." - Surah Asr While these verses and numerous others in the Qur'an constantly remind us of the importance of belief, I have wondered if many of us born Muslims really fulfil the requirements as they were meant to be met. Most converts - from any religion to any other religion, whether Islam or not - can safely claim that they tried to find the truth and have arrived at whatever they found most logical. Even if they were ultimately wrong, they can at least excuse themselves by telling God that they tried their best. Can we do the same, however? Can we truly say that we believe not because we were born into the religion but because we believe? Are we sure that we aren't Muslims simply because we have a bias toward the religion? Over the years, I have become more and more certain that while the test of the non-Muslims is to oppose their bias against their against Islam, ours is the exact opposite: to be introspective and examine our belief while considering our bias for the religion. And, the more I consider this, the more I realise that many of us have failed utterly in this regard! Consider the following verses: [2:170] …they say, "Rather, we will follow that which we found our fathers doing." Even though their fathers understood nothing, nor were they guided?" [5:104] …they say, "Sufficient for us is that upon which we found our fathers…" Do you believe were only relevant to the pagan Arabs and don't apply to us? How many of us can satisfactorily answer the problem of evil? How many of us even know about and properly understand the problem of evil? How many of us will just stand silently? And, how many of our answers will just be lip service to what we heard some Sheikh say in some lecture, when we don't even understand half of it? Even if we think we have the answer, how many of us would now present it to an atheist to see if it actually holds up to scrutiny? If we have never even entertained these questions, are we not the same as the pagan Arabs, sheep who have simply followed in their forefathers' footsteps? While you must have heard numerous how we are lucky to have been born into Islam, I have often wondered whether this has made us lax, as we have simply started to believe that just because we are Muslims, we have successfully fulfilled the belief part of the criteria. Would a just God give a man who had to fight his family, his friends and, most important, his own self to validate Islam the same "pass" as He would to someone who claims to be Muslim but doesn't even understand the basics properly, let alone being able to justify them? If we've never even tried attacking Islam, or considered the arguments made by other religions, if we've simply lived in this bubble for all your life, as many of us have, I highly doubt we will be labelled as Muslims on the Day of Judgement and that we will be granted the Jannah that we deem our birth right! In conclusion, if you were born as a non-Muslim, can you truly answer that, with the way you have lived your life, you would have become a Muslim?
  14. Salam fellows: As it is now known that paradise or hell is not above the sky, as previously believed. Please consider following points: 1) Paradise and Hell is created before the creation of this universe (as it was first residence of father Adam (sa) and mother Eve (sa)), so they exists right now. 2) People will be raised from their graves, graves are on this earth, and there would be a bridge, which each would have to cross, below that bridge there would be hell and on the other side of that bridge there would be Paradise, it seems that either earth would be connected to hell and paradise or vice versa. 3) If, hypothetically, a space explorer ship just go into space, and keep travel in single direction, it is not like that it will hit a wall, or it might find hell or paradise somewhere in this universe (filled with angles, living there), and they somehow conquer it and take control of the paradise. So, hell or paradise is not in this universe. Is there any Islamic reference, which would put some light in above points that where is the Paradise and Hell, and how would it all connect ?
  15. Unfortunately there are people in this world who are in poverty. People without homes and without clothes, without food and water etc. How are these people expected to prayer to God. I understand that this is a very small minority of the world's population but how is someone living in a poor country in Africa expected to prayer when they don't even have water to perform wuduh. Or a woman/man expected to cover their bodies when they don't have clothes? I don't know maybe these people are let off because of their situation, I'm not suggesting God forces us to do things we can't, but I was wondering what your opinions are?
  16. As salam alaikum, For some background: My mother is Hindu but more spiritual, doesnt believe in rituals etc., dad neutral about religions and a lot more spiritual, and brother is a downright atheist - I'm Muslim lol..and all of us live together so some of our discussions can be..well..interesting and disturbing.. Based on these discussions, I have a question: What is the purpose of creation and afterlife, as per Islam? I understand the purpose of our temporary earthly life is as a test to ensure jannah in the hereafter, through the worship of our creator....but then what? We enter jannah, live there...and then? Whats the point really? My dad asked me this...and I dodged the question coz I wasn't very sure on how to handle it....his view is that we don't know what happens after death, n there is no way to experience it, so how can you just believe something a book says? Mum believes in re-incarnation and the idea that the soul needs to be freed...but after its freed after several thousands of lifetimes, we don't know what will happen... My brother says: well we have no idea what happens once we die - so live this life fullest...following religion or rituals will not allow you to maximize your potential in terms of career and the rest coz it takes up too much time...in terms of creator and universe, he says "there's no way I would think that there is a creator who created this universe...its all physics and quantum mechanics" I ask him who created gravity, how did all of that exist? He says we are not qualified enough in the field of physics to know that...there may be 10 to 15 people in the world who can tell you what existed before the Big Bang and how it was created....but we are not at that level of education, but surely you cannot believe that a God created it...that would just make life so boring - imagine not being able to use your own critical analysis and science backed evidence of the existence of physics laws...and just coming to a conclusion of "oh one creator created all of this"...thats just plain silly and provides no intellectual stimulation in his opinion... They all see religion as being something just for people who haven't got a career or are not educated, to be happy and content with whatever little they have..in the false hope that there will be something better after death, so its ok if there's no money etc now...therefore they will not strive for the most, and will be more focused on religious things... All of them truly believe that religions are all man made to control and manipulate crowds who cannot think for themselves...but for critical thinkers like them (especially my super highly educated brother), it is a joke and very sad to think that you would need to live within certain limits set by someone (something) else....unless its the law of the state, noone else should have any authority over your being except yourself....he doesn't agree with a creator or soul or any of that...and immorality and morality to him is a social construct - the only things which all humans can agree are immoral are those that hurt others: murder, stealing, rape, and sometimes cheating but not always.....he can't understand why marriage is such a huge deal and premarital sex or LGBT is a problem...or the concept of chastity...according to him its all in the heads of people and society has formed it that way - in nature however, if we look at animals, there are many who are homosexual, and there is no such thing of premarital issues, or even issues with one night stands...so why do humans have to make such a big deal and complicate life so much? So based on the above viewpoints, there are many times I don't know how to answer them because I just can't deal with their perspectives...its inconceivable for me to ever think of the idea of not believing in a creator...I have pursued the quest for God since I was a kid...so I really need help answering some of these questions.. My belief is that life is temporary and it is there as a test for the hereafter....but what happens if we go to heaven, or hell for that matter...what is the purpose of getting gardens in which rivers flow? What happens after that? Yes our souls can get close to God, but then what? And ok God will punish those in hell, keep punishing them continuously, but then what? What's the point there? Why would a God do that anyway? What does He get by putting us in heaven or hell? These are the kind of questions I'm afraid to answer, but I really do need something to understand this..and I'm becoming curious of this as well..I'm sure there is a reason I don't know it yet, and I may even believe if Allah has said it is not for us to know, but that won't work with my family...so any help would be greatly appreciated in this matter... I know there are several different points - opinions on all would be great...but the most crucial is the purpose of creation, hereafter and the rest... JazakAllah...
  17. This is a sensitive question. After a non-Muslim converts to Islam and his/her relatives end up not converting before their deaths, what follows according to Islamic teachings? Will his/her parents go to Hell for not being Muslim, while he/she goes to Paradise (if he/she would turn out to be a good Muslim, of course)? Or, will his/her relatives be saved from Hell thanks to him/her choosing for Islam (I remember someone telling me something like this)? It's such a horrible thought that the parents of a converted Muslim cannot join their child in the afterlife.
  18. ASA everyone. Now, most muslims will generally say that humans have free will but that Allah(swt) knows what will happen before it will happen and that he can alter things as he so pleases. However, when reading the Quran it is not that simple. It seems to me that two points are made simultaneously, the first being that humans control whether or not they will accept faith and guidance and the other being that it is not up to an individual but all up to Allah(swt). If it is up to Allah(swt), then doesn't it seem unfair that he will misguide some people and guide others? This is really bothering me. Feedback and thoughts are appreciated. Verses: Decisions The Qur'an is a warning to all men: to those who have the will to walk straight or upright, yet no one can decide to do so except the ones who are given that ability by Allah (81:27-29, 76:29-30). The Test Man was created from a drop of semen for the purpose of being tested. He is given sight, hearing and instructions to see whether he will be grateful and go to paradise. In paradise there will be drinking of wine flowing from a constant fountain while in Hell there will be chains, harnesses and blazing fire (76:2-6). Guidance Allah guides whom he pleases to the straight way (10:25). Allah decides who will be left to stray and who will be guided (35:8). Allah opens or hardens hearts to Islam (39:18-22). He gives some little and others much (39:52). Faith No one can have faith unless Allah gives him permission. Allah will severely punish those who do not have the sense to believe (10:100). Ordained Misfortune Allah decrees ahead of time every bad thing that happens to the earth or individuals (57:22). Control over All Creatures There is not a living creature whose hair is not in the grasp of Allah (11:56). Created for Hell Whomever Allah guides follows the right way and whoever he causes to be led astray will be the losers. Many men and genies are already created for Hell (7:178,179). Allah Causes Error It is impossible for a person to correct those who Allah has caused to be in error (4:88). Personal Responsibility Those who reject Allah’s communications are deaf and dumb. They are in utter darkness. Allah misleads some and puts others on the right way (6:39). Apostles give good news and warnings to mankind. Those who believe and mend their ways will have nothing to fear and not regret. But those who deny Allah’s revelations will be punished for their sins (6:48,49). Evil Leaders Placed and Punished Allah has placed evil leaders in every town who plot evil. Soon they will be punished for their evil plans (6:123, 124). Fill Hell If Allah had willed he could have given everyone true guidance, but the word of Allah is that he will fill Hell with men and jinn (32:13, 11:119, 7:18). This is really bothering
  19. In this report aired on Fadak TV certain Shias in the UK are celebrating the day of Aisha's death: http://www.memri.org.../0/0/0/6625.htm My questions are: 1 - Are all persons who went to war against Imam Ali in Hell? 2 - Does that include Aisha as well?
  20. I'm trying to gather some information on hell-fire, I'd like to know of any non-literalist views on what the fire may be/ representing. Any info, personal view or from a particular source would be great Thanks

  23. (Note to moderators, i couldn't think of the *best* place to put this thread. If you see a better place, please do move it to there, i have no objection to such a thing.) I'll start this off with a little introduction, sorry to lengthen it but i feel it is important to the post. Please do read on, i'm sure you'll find it interesting. Lets begin. I was going for my evening run, as i usually do but tonight i heard something that wasn't usual. I heard a man screaming, a woman screaming and i saw the man throwing around things. My first instinct of course would of been to call the police but i was trying to figure out how serious the situation was, maybe just a minor dispute or misunderstanding. My second instinct would be to go over there and protect the poor woman or at least try diffuse the situation. I feel it is my moral duty to do such a thing and i will always stand up for others, no matter the cost. I would do this every time without fail, at least i believe i would stand up in a situation and not just cower away or ignore the wrong being done. I am not a Muslim but someone was hatefully arguing against religion and Islam, i stood up for Islam and did my best to open their eyes and protect people being targeted. I might not agree with Islam but i will protect, with every single inch of myself, your right to practice your beliefs and to be free from hate. I will stand up for all. Thankfully, the dispute between the man and woman looked minor (misunderstanding) and in any case, one of their neighbours just arrived in their car and they would inevitably sort it out. However, it got me thinking... What if i went over there to try break up this dispute and the man was armed. This isn't the nicest part of town and it isn't exactly unusual; one of my friends had a gun pulled on him, several people i know have been mugged around here; its not the safest place. So, i was imagining, say i went over there to protect this poor woman the best i could and the man was armed and he had stabbed me or something like that. It got me thinking, what happens to me if i die? Now, I'm agnostic but that doesn't mean i totally reject the afterlife either. I currently do not hold such a belief but my beliefs aren't the primary question of this topic, as you will soon see... I've tried to live my life the best i can according to the morals i think are best. Indeed, we probably share many similar morals, i assure you of that, without going into too many personal things that would make me uncomfortable. These things include romantic relationships to a degree, ethics, diet (vegetarian, obviously different but haven't had any pork ect in 10+ years) ect. I'm not trying to score points or anything or boast. I am a human being like you and im sure we have all done some things we wish we hadn't. I just wished to give a general idea of myself. You have my word that i am honest about all these things i say. It got me thinking, i share similar values to religious people and i am good people like they are(most anyway, not the hateful or intolerant). Also, they do good deeds partially or entirely out of love for God and because they know it is what God wills. They do it out of want for virtue and want for heaven. They try not to sin because they do not wish to displease God and they do not wish to end up in hell. Obviously, they are good people like I and wish to do good things for the same reason i do but they have additional motivation. I do my good deeds not out of want of reward or heaven but just because i believe it is the right thing to do and i wish to do them. Surely this is also virtuous, if not more virtuous (i think so anyway but i dont want to argue over this point much) because there is no motivating factor or reward. I like to study comparative religion and all the religions of the world. It has came to my attention that all three books/Abrahamic religions, regardless of how good of a person i am, seem to say i get a ticket to a place full of interesting volcano's, mustard ( i hate mustard) and fire. I am hellfire bound as they say. No matter how good my deeds are, if i don't do them with God in mind or to please God apparently i am bound for the hellfire. Obviously, i don't really enjoy being told all my good deeds are worthless in the grand scale of things and i don't like being told i am going to hell for being a good person or even going to hell for that matter. I dont really want to believe a loving God would still put me in such a place for being a good person but thats why i came here, to get everyones views. It got me thinking, imagine i died when that situation happened, where would i ultimately end up from the perspective of all the major religions. So, please do share your opinions. I know it isn't the most polite thing to tell me I'm going to hell and i won't exactly enjoy reading such a thing but a truth is a truth. If you believe it to be the truth please don't be afraid and tell me as such. I won't hold any personal thing against you of course. Perhaps, also, if you could please include a little explanation, to make it easier for me to digest. (I'm not sure if all Muslims hold one view to this issue or there are many different views by many different scholars and interpretations, same goes for all other religions but i'm happy to see a diversity of views and all view points.) (I also realise the fact you are not divine, you are a fallible human being like I and you are not Allah/god/brahman/ect... I realise you obviously can not know such a thing for certain and it is up to the supreme force to decide. I am not taking anyones words about the literal truth, so do not worry about misleading me. I just want to know what your religion and particular scholar you follow/ your beliefs say about where i will go and even what you personally think, which is also very important to me.) Edit: I put a poll in so those who were a bit cautious of telling me where i would end up or just out of politeness or respect did not wish to do such a thing could voice their opinion as well, the poll seems to of not worked. Apologies to those people but really, please do speak your mind, i won't hold anything against you, i promise. Regards, -kingpomba
  24. Im sure you will all know that Sayyids are the AhlulBayt of today, i am proud to say i am a Sayyid. But i have a very frustrating topic. It is said that the hell fire is ha'ram for Shia'as, and instead they get the wrath of ice. I am not too sure that this, however, is true? We all know how easy it is to create a rumour nowadays! Just wanted your thoughts on this topic and if anyone can elaborate on it? Thanks :donno: :shifty:
  25. If you were asked: 'Is a man who knowingly tortures an innocent person to death just because another tells him to evil and worthy of hell?', what would you reply? I would reply 'Probably, yes'. Yet the Milgram experiments show that most people would torture another innocent person do death just because an authority figure told them to. Does that make most people evil and worthy of hell?
