So, As we all know, Homosexuality is haram in Islam. A commonly question is, if your born with homosexuality/naturally homosexual, then why would it be haram? Didn't Allah make everyone perfectly? So why would homosexuality be haram? Now then, I've tried to find an answer for this, and It's a pretty tough question. It would seem quite hard to understand why it would be like this. It's especially pretty hard to understand the "If you are gay, then you just can't marry for the rest of your life", Which would not really be a good moral argument. They then present the argument that "Imagine if you were told that being straight is a sin, and that you can only be homosexual. And If you can't be homosexual, then you have to remain celibate for the rest of your life." It then seems like a pretty solid argument. So, If it's two consenting adults, and it causes no harm, do we got a moral argument against it?

There was a thread several days ago where people started to debate about homosexuality. One Shia brother said he was gay. He didn't seem to view it as a major sin. I would be curious to know how many people here view it as being acceptable to be Shia and gay at the same time? Do you view it as something that should be repented of? Some relevant quotes from the Imams (A): Imam Ali (A) said: “Sodomy is a Greater Sin and carries punishment when a man mounts upon another man but does not penetrate. If he penetrates, it is kufr” - al-Kāfi Huzaifa ibn Mansur says: “I enquired regarding sodomy which is a Greater Sin from Imam Ja’far as-Sadiq ((عليه السلام).)”. The Imam replied: “To press the sexual organ between the thighs in an illegal way” I asked, “Who is the person who commits sodomy”. Imam ((عليه السلام).) replied; “One who has disbelieved in what Allah has revealed to his Messenger (the Holy Qur’an).” Imam Ja’far as-Sadiq ((عليه السلام).) was queried by Abu Basir regarding the verse: “So when our decree came to pass, we turned them upside down and rained down upon them stones, of what has been decreed, one after another.” (Surah Hūd 11:82) Imam ((عليه السلام).) explained: “There is no one who leaves this world while considering sodomy Halāl, but that Allah hits him with one of the stones that had fallen on the people of Hazrat Lut ((عليه السلام).).”

https://www.yahoo.com/news/orlando-fla-ap-gunman-wielding-000000701.html It looks like these people are just going to make life harder for everyone now? I feel like we are going to be in some deep trouble. (I mean the Islamic community)

Salam, sorry for the really stupid title, but it is to attract attention. I was born in Europe therefore I am kind of debating what is right and wrong in Islam compared to the western values. In school we often talk about homosexuality and how it should be okay and that is not a choice. As for myself, I don't agree. But I don't think I can ever tell them, because then of course you'll get the common word "homophobic" which I'm not. I don't have anything against human being, since Allah created them, but I don't necessarily agree with their acts. So whenever we hear about gay people it is common to bring in Iran executing or hanging homosexuals. That they have no right and the list goes on. I was wondering. Is that really allowed in Islam? And how can you kill a person with your own judgment? Aren’t homosexuals already committing a sin then, they will get their punishment from God, why do we have to double the punishment with punishing them? I also wonder that what if the prophet (pbuh) was here and the ahlulbayt and they met upon a homosexual. Would they punish him and burn him just like that? The thing is that whenever I meet on a homosexual I never think that it is a good thing, but I am still going to be friendly. I just think that “God will show you”. So can anyone answer? Thank you!
