Brothers & Sisters, I truly need your help. This is a jurisprudential query and I had written to my Marja's (Ayatullah Sistani's) office about 6 months ago but have not received a response yet. I shall describe my situation and then attach the ruling from Ayatullah Sistani on the topic below. Please go through it thoroughly and suggest what you think about the outcome. From my understanding, I have come to a conclusion but I keep getting doubts which are endlessly bothering me and affecting my daily life. My situation is as follows: I did Mutah with a girl who had recently got her Khula done. At the time of the mutah, both of us had a lack of knowledge about general Iddah rulings and thought that the purpose of the Iddah period is just to ensure that the girl is not pregnant. Therefore, we thought that the Iddah might not be applicable to her as she had been physically away from her husband since 4 months before the Khula and was getting her periods within this duration ascertaining that she is not pregnant. We were unsure about the applicability of the Mutah and did some further research, but could not find a definite answer. Therefore, without being completely sure about the applicability of the Iddah, we went ahead and did the Mutah Islamically. However, a couple of months later, without having gone to bed with each other yet (having sexual relations), we found out that marrying a girl in her waiting period knowingly makes the couple haraam for each other forever and hence, did a deep research to ensure that the Iddah was not applicable to her. However, upon doing further research, we found out that the waiting period is applicable from the day of the Khula regardless of the girl being physically away from the husband or not. Based on the ruling of Ayatullah Sistani, we immediately separated as we thought we had done it out of ignorance and did the Mutah again after her waiting period. Moreover, we had not gone to bed within this period. The ruling from Ayatullah Sistani's official website is as follows: Ruling 2419. If a man marries a woman who is observing the ʿiddah of her marriage to another man, in the event that both or one of them knew that her ʿiddah was not yet over and they knew that marrying a woman who is observing ʿiddah is unlawful, the woman becomes unlawful for him forever even if they did not have sexual intercourse after getting married. And if they were ignorant about what ʿiddah is or about it being unlawful to marry a woman who is observing ʿiddah, then the marriage contract is invalid. Furthermore, if they have had sexual intercourse, it is forever unlawful [for them to get married to each other]; otherwise, it is not unlawful and they can get married again once the ʿiddah is over. Depending on the above description and ruling, I have come to the conclusion that since we did not know that the Iddah is applicable on the girl from the day of the Khula regardless of her being physically away from the husband or not, we did not know that she was actually in the waiting period and hence, did the mutah out of ignorance. Therefore, we can get married after the Iddah period ends. However, I keep getting doubts about this conclusion and am seeking some validation from you as I have not received any response from my marja's office yet. I really love this girl and want to do Nikah with her but am afraid that due to these doubts, my relationship will fall apart. Please help me clear these doubts. Jazakallah o Khair!

Is washing once enough to clean urine on the body
Guest posted a topic in General Islamic Discussion
Salam, Im a 18 years old male, I was very ignorant in the matter of tahirat and used to wash hands containing urine once in a tap. And when there was some splashes of urine on my legs, I used to just take the shower, used soaps and ensured my legs were cleaned. But today I got to know that if the body is najis due to urine so one has to wash it atleast two times. So my question is, is my body was najis even after taking shower if I didnt wash my legs two times. Another question is my hands najis if i dont wash it two times, in tap, thou i used to wash it with soap for two times.- 6 replies

SalamAlaykum Dear Brothers and Sister, This question might have been asked a several times on SC but what evidence do we have that the Qur'an has no ERRORS and that it is from GOD What is the biggest EVIDENCE that makes you say "YES THE QURAN IS WITHOUT A DOUBT FROM Allah AND THERE NO MISTAKES" As we also are aware, there are VARIANTS of the QURAN such as HAFS and WARSH. If the QURAN is the UNALTERED Word from the CREATOR then why are there VARIANTS The VARIANTS arent the main focus of this THREAD but the EVIDENCE for it being from the CREATOR and that it has no ERRORS PLEASE DO NOT BRING VERSES WHICH MENTION IT IS FROM Allah OR THAT IT DOESNT CONTAIN ERRORS AS THAT IS A CIRCULAR ARGUMENT Peace

Salam.. I used to be very ignorant in past in matter of tahirat. I used to go to toilet and then used to wash my hands from the basin. I used to touch najis hand on the valve of the water. After washing..i used to close the valve without caring that I had touched with najis hands before starting washing. Now my question is everything in my house najis. Pls help me. I've become a patient of OCD. I doubt on everything. On utensils. On my gadgets and everything. Because every time I used to wash my hand from that only basin. Every time my hand would surely touch the najis value... Pls help.

I usually use hair gel. It contains alcohol. I have talked with an aalim in my local mosque, and if I understood correctly, it's not Najis and you can pray with it. My question is simply; Even if it's not Najis, is it haram if you accidentally get it in your mouth and you swallow it? When I wash the gel of with water, I start doubting if some of the gel has ended up in my mouth with the water. If it's not najis, is it also that it's not haram due to change of its form? Thankful for some guidance.

(bismillah) (salam) As many of you may know I have had many many doubts mainly regarding Ghusl, Wudhu and Salah. The doubts I had made religion sooo hard for me to follow and I was making it difficult for myself because of my doubts, alhamdulillah I doubt less now and I would hate for others to doubt like how I did so I made this thread. I would like whoever has doubts to send me a PM about their doubt and insha'Allah I can help them solve it. The reason why I believe I will be able to help them is because I have gone through countless scenarios doubting about many different things. The reason why I am saying PM me is because if you write it here others may pick up the doubts, for example one of the doubts which I got was because my friend told me about his doubt and I ended up doubting about that same thing because he told me about it. I don't think I will pick up the doubt as I have probably had the doubt before myself. Edit: I must have used the word 'doubt' alot of times in there  (wasalam)
