  1. As an outsider looking in, I am putting this thread up for some insight. Abrahamic tradition does not hold one to be responsible for others’ deeds. Islam is no exception: one is not held responsible for the sins of one’s ancestors, but only one’s own. However, it is also acknowledged that the cumulative actions of one’s forebears can lead to certain inborn tendencies, as shown in the dynamics of alcoholism among certain demographics. Of course, there is a dispute as to the degree to which one’s actions can affect one’s genome, and the role of woo in distorting matters has not aided understanding. Still, if one is born into a family with a “generational curse”—be it diabetes or addictions—even if one is not responsible for one’s ancestors’ behaviour, one can still feel stigmatised relative to people who did not belong to a lineage with the said “curse.” One can, perhaps, better oneself, but remain at a disadvantage, in absolute terms, relative to others who were not born into one’s lineage and its attendant problems. In other words, one’s best would still be less than the worst (or best) of the others. Has anyone grappled with this dilemma and its attendant, complicated emotions?
  2. Salamun Alaykum, I was wondering if any of the Shia texts mentions hadith of Masoomeen (عليه السلام) or quranic verse that tells about diagnosing disease by reading facial expressions. This is a purely scientific question and has nothing to do with Amal etc. JazakAllah
  3. Assalamalaikum Wa Rehmatullahi Wa Barakaatuhu, My Cousin feels that he has peed in pant while he is performing ablution, or performing salat or reciting holy Quran. But when he check it in the washroom, nothing has happened So while numerous times he used to go to washroom, by which he's underpants gets wet he feels the same problem and can't do Ibadah properly . Pls provide some solution to heal this disease hazrath this happens during all these times (while doing wuzu, sometimes while in salaat and sometimes while reciting Qur'an).. So pls add to the question if he id Pak or If he need to perform another wuzu? Pls Janab, he is fasting in the holy month Ramadhan, yet he feel very sick to move out in the middle of jamat every 1 or 1/2 hours.. It embarrasses him. Juzkumullah Kharan...
  4. Hi.. it has been narrated from imam sadiq a.s that the soil of karbala( khake shifa) can heal all the disease... My question is can it heal Hiv also???
  5. Salam, I thought of discussing a topic that was not talked about in any of these forums since I felt it was a very important issue to discuss. Laziness & Procrastination in the eyes of Islams and ahlu el beit. How to deal with and how to overcome it? What are the seeds of Procrastination? And is it truly a product of the shaytan? Now this is what I think of all of this. 1. Due to Procastination and laziness we tend to loose out on many opportunities that is coming our way. 2. We become less active physically, spiritually and even mentally. 3. Due to lack of productivity we loose the essence in our life. We become empty inside with no meaning since we spend our time doing nothing and accomplishing nothing. 4. We never reach our potential. We keep on putting off doing the same thing over and over again so we literally end up getting stuck in the same square NEVER moving forward. And due to that we feel unhappy about ourselves and we start getting depressed about the state that we are in. 5. YES we do know what the solution to our problem is..WE KNOW that we have to get up and do whatever needs to be done to move forward in our life..not only to make ourselves better but also to improve the quality of our life whether it is spiritually, physically, mentally or financially. 6. We are our own obstacles so how can we overcome that?? And how can we defeat the "Laziness syndrome" ?? 7. What did the prophet P.B.U.H say about this? What did ahlu el beit say about this? 8. How can we use Islam to help us overcome this and live a better life? All of these interesting questions and statements I felt I should share with you so we can open our eyes to this issue. If you look around to see many of the wealthy people or people with power worked very hard to get to where they are..yes there is exceptions and yes there are certain people that abused power and got rich just by doing nothing but that is not what I am talking about. I'm talking about the people that got there by working hard. Why are we as muslims still lacking behind unable to produce great things and to get to great places? It is because we are unwilling to work hard and put all our energies toward reaching our goals. So how can we change that?? What do you guys think?? “Everyone who is being overtaken by death asks for more time while everyone who still has time makes excuses for procrastination” Imam Ali
  6. Salam alakum, I would like to direct any brothers and sisters with illnesses or loved ones with illnesses to research about black seed oil. It is a real miracle cure which is backed by scientific evidence. www.nabiblackseedoil.com for further information. Ali
  7. I found this Interesting information, thought I'd share with you all :) DRINK WATER ON EMPTY STOMACH It is popular in Japan today to drink water immediately after waking up every morning. Furthermore, scientific tests have proven its value. We publish below a description of use of water for our readers. For old and serious diseases as well as modern illnesses the water treatment had been found successful by a Japanese medical society as a 100% cure for the following diseases: Headache, body ache, heart system, arthritis, fast heart beat, epilepsy, excess fatness, bronchitis asthma, TB, meningitis, kidney and urine diseases, vomiting, gastritis, diarrhea, piles, diabetes, constipation, all eye diseases, womb, cancer and menstrual disorders, ear nose and throat diseases. METHOD OF TREATMENT 1. As you wake up in the morning before brushing teeth, drink 4 × 160ml glasses of water 2. Brush and clean the mouth but do not eat or drink anything for 45 minutes 3. After 45 minutes you may eat and drink as normal. 4. After 15 minutes of breakfast, lunch and dinner do not eat or drink anything for 2 hours – ie you can drink straight after a meal (within the first 15 minutes) but not for 2 hours after that. 5. Those who are old or sick and are unable to drink 4 glasses of water at the beginning may commence by taking little water and gradually increase it to 4 glasses per day. 6. The above method of treatment will cure diseases of the sick and others can enjoy a healthy life . The following list gives the number of days of treatment required to cure/control/ reduce main diseases: 1. High Blood Pressure – 30 days 2. Gastric – 10 days 3. Diabetes – 30 days 4. Constipation – 10 days 5. Cancer – 180 days 6. TB – 90 days 7. Arthritic patients should follow the above treatment for only 3 days in the 1st week, and from 2nd week onwards – daily. This treatment method has no side effects, however at the commencement of treatment you may have to urinate a few times. It is better if we continue this and make this procedure as a routine work in our life . Drink Water and Stay healthy and Active. This makes sense … the Chinese and Japanese drink hot tea with their meals ..not cold water. maybe it is time we adopt their drinking habit while eating!!! Nothing to lose, everything to gain… For those who like to drink cold water, this article is applicable to you. It is nice to have a cup of cold drink after a meal. However, the cold water will solidify the oily stuff that you have just consumed. It will slow down the digestion. Once this “sludge” reacts with the acid, it will break down and be absorbed by the intestine faster than the solid food. It will line the intestine. Very soon, this will turn into fats and lead to cancer. It is best to drink hot soup or warm water after a meal. A serious note about heart attacks: Women should know that not every heart attack symptom is going to be the left arm hurting. Be aware of intense pain in the jaw line. You may never have the first chest pain during the course of a heart attack. Nausea and intense sweating are also common symptoms. 60% of people who have a heart attack while they are asleep do not wake up. Pain in the jaw can wake you from a sound sleep. Let’s be careful and be aware. The more we know, the better chance we could survive… http://network.nature.com/groups/skepticism/forum/topics/640
  8. Salaam Allaykum, One of the questions I feel unable to answer and a question that very many atheists ask is: "Why did God create poverty, disease, miscarriage etc." I'm sure theres a perfectly reasonable answer, especially considering that this is a question all religious people, of all faiths may come across however I was wondering what your answers are. By the way, I am aware that sometimes atheists tend to ask about issues such as death, mild illnesses and such trivial things that we all undergo at one point or another and when these questions are asked I have no difficulty in providing an answer. It's the really serious and unfortunate problems that only very few people may undergo that I have no answer for. Thanks for taking your time to read (and respond).
