How are humans decided to be born in Muslim, Jew, Christian or any other?
Guest posted a topic in General Islamic Discussion
Assalamualekum all brothers and sisters. I need understanding on this topic from especially scholars who can provide sufficient evidence on the argument: “Can iblis deceive just souls or just human or both in any form?” As its per in, surah A'raf, two verses have been interpreted as speaking of this realm: "And [remember] when your Lord took from the Children of Adam, from their loins, their descendants and made them bear witness over themselves, [He said to them,] "Am I not your Lord?" They said," Yes indeed! We bear witness." [This,] lest you should say on the Day of Resurrection," (7:173)Nor say, ‘It was our forefathers who had associated others ˹with Allah in worship˺ and we, as their descendants, followed in their footsteps. Will you then destroy us for the falsehood they invented?’” This question brings me into, how was it decided that we are born into a family who arent Muslims(Shia or Sunni), Christian, Jew, Hindu or any other? -
Assalamu alaikum, My name is Alexander Abood and I'm age of 21 years old and I'm former Christian and now Muslim. It has become to my attention that there is a Anti-Islamic website namely WikiIslam who have criticized all branches of Islam! And they even concluded Shia and Sunni Muslims in their wiki.... I believe that today we really need to unite ourselves so we can fight the enemies of Islam from among Christians and Atheists who bashes Islam. I personally am sick to keep hearing criticism of non-Muslims, this was way too much to handle. Luckily we have Islamic Wikipedia where we can ultimately refute and debunk that anti-Islamic wiki namely WikiIslam. Does anyone wants to be contributor of Islamic Wikipedia ? Also, I want to ask the Bahais and Quranists so we can unite and stop being divided. And I want to ask them if they can join that wikipedia which I'm talking about.

Salamun Alaykum. We as Shi'a, while discussing with our Sunni brothers, try to base our views on Sunni collections of hadith specially Sihah Sittah. This is good per se although our Sunni friends hardly try to base their doctrines on Shia books. However, what I, out of personal experiences, have found threatening is that some Shia brothers (however few) go so deeply in such discussions that they neglect our Shi'a sources and if they are not able to find any proof from Sunni sources (while there are many proofs from Shia sources) their heart does not rest in peace. It is true that in most cases we have abundant proofs from Sunni sources but we should be aware that firstly, this method is to be used for discussions and to increase our knowledge, we have to refer to our own sources as well and secondly, for some part of our beliefs, we may not find a Sunni proof and this by no means should cause any doubt in our mind and heart. In a nutshell, to go deeply through Sihah Sittah should not lead us to neglect Kutub Arba'a! YOUR comments are appreciated.
