Salaamun Alaikum I have two related questions, if anyone can guide me I'd appreciate it. 1. What do people say to each other while shaking hands after jamaat salat? 2. What do you say to the Imam of the jamaat salat when shaking his hand after the salat? JazakAllah Khair

During Muharram, the Imam sits on a raised table. During namaz, the table is not moved. The Imam stands in front of the table and there is 1 line behind him, and the remaining people stand from behind him. The first row is not completely filled due to obstacle on each side. So in the 2nd and 3rd row, the table is directly behind Imam and people stand on left and on right. Is this valid? ................................x................................. .....................ppppppppppppp.................... pppppppppppppppTTTTpppppppppppppppp pppppppppppppppTTTTpppppppppppppppp pppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppp pppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppp x is Imam. dot is wall or obstacle. T is table. Thanks. Who's namaz is valid in this case? I am really worried.

Narrated Zaid bin Thabit: Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) made a small room (with a palm leaf mat). Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) came out (of his house) and prayed in it. Some men came and joined him in his prayer. Then again the next night they came for the prayer, but Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) delayed and did not come out to them. So they raised their voices and knocked the door with small stones (to draw his attention). He came out to them in a state of anger, saying, "You are still insisting (on your deed, i.e. Tarawih prayer in the mosque) that I thought that this prayer (Tarawih) might become obligatory on you. So you people, offer this prayer at your homes, for the best prayer of a person is the one which he offers at home, except the compulsory (congregational) prayer." Sahih al-Bukhari Book 78, Hadith 140 http://sunnah.com/bukhari/78/140 Narrated Zaid bin Thabit: The Prophet (ﷺ) took a room made of date palm leaves mats in the mosque. Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) prayed in it for a few nights till the people gathered (to pray the night prayer (Tarawih) (behind him.) Then on the 4th night the people did not hear his voice and they thought he had slept, so some of them started humming in order that he might come out. The Prophet (ﷺ) then said, "You continued doing what I saw you doing till I was afraid that this (Tarawih prayer) might be enjoined on you, and if it were enjoined on you, you would not continue performing it. Therefore, O people! Perform your prayers at your homes, for the best prayer of a person is what is performed at his home except the compulsory congregational) prayer." (See Hadith No. 229,Vol. 3) (See Hadith No. 134, Vol. 8) Sahih al-Bukhari Book 96, Hadith 21 http://sunnah.com/bukhari/96/21 So the question is, whose sunnah is being followed when tarawih is prayed in congregation at mosques?

Salaam, Just came across this question on Ayatollah Sistani's website: Question: I am 19 years old and a convert to Islam of five months. My question is, being a practitioner of Twelver Jaf'ari Islam is it permissible for me to pray behind a Sunni Imam for Salaatul-Jummah and for regular congregational prayers, and is it required to prostrate on Turbah inside a mosque? Answer: Taking part in Friday and congregational prayers of the Ahl-e Sunnat is permissible in areas where Taqiyah (dissimulation) is required. If you are not going to face a problem, you should, as far as possible, prostrate on a stone or anything upon which Sajda (prostration) is permissible. Prostration on carpets in the case of Taqiyah or out of necessity is permissible and there would be no objection in it. But if you are not offering your prayers with them out of Taqiyah it is not necessary to attend their congregational prayers and you can offer your prayers separately. Does that mean there is no sawaab (benefit) in offering congregational prayers behind Sunni Imams? and its preferable to offer Friday prayers individually (regular zuhr prayers in lieu of Friday prayers) if there is no shia mosque nearby ?

Salam alejkum, Firstly I apologise for flooding the topic with questions. I have a few questions regarding congregational salah for fajr, dhur, asr, maghrib, isha and jummah. What are the rules the Shia way? 1. Do you recite surah al-fatiha and second surah behind the imam when he does or do you just listen? Does this differ between each raka'a? 2. Do you recite while going into ruku, sujoud and the salaams as well? jazakAllah.
