  1. Salam I am a Doctor by profession and married I am about to select my speciality of future and I am too confused so I did istakhara from Qur'an after isha prayers after learning how it is performed in imamia jantri so I did like that, I was thinking about gynecology and obstetrics so my istekhara waNJs about whether should I do it or not so this ayah came And tell the believing women to reduce [some] of their vision and guard their private parts and not expose their adornment except that which [necessarily] appears thereof and to wrap [a portion of] their headcovers over their chests and not expose their adornment except to their husbands, their fathers, their husbands' fathers, their sons, their husbands' sons, their brothers, their brothers' sons, their sisters' sons, their women, that which their right hands possess, or those male attendants having no physical desire, or children who are not yet aware of the private aspects of women. And let them not stamp their feet to make known what they conceal of their adornment. And turn to Allah in repentance, all of you, O believers, that you might succeed. People have confused me about this now some saying there is prohibition others saying there is positive sign of success as gynE is female speciality and patients are only females now I am confused any learnt person who know about istekhara please help me jazakAllah
  2. Alsalam Alaykum! So...sometime ago I got a marriage proposal from a very nice guy. We have talked four times in total, and to be honest, I really like him. I think he's a very nice guy (so far), and we have the same sense of humor. We have talked about education and about ideas for the future, and I know that he has plans and knows what he wants in life. He has finished his education, while I am in my last year of "high school". There is a six- almost seven-year age gap between us, but I don't think that's an issue (I am 20, and he is 26). I am just giving you some information so you know what I know. The thing is, I want to ask him questions about the future and about now and just things in general, but every time he asks me if I have a question, I forget. I guess my question is; do you have any questions that could be helpful to know the answer to, for someone in my place? Maybe you could write some of the questions that you have asked your spouse or fiance, that helped you make your final decision. Thanks and Jazakum Allah Khair in advance!
  3. Once upon a time I used to be quite strong in my beliefs but as the years have gone on, meeting new people and having new discussions has left me lost and aimless in terms of the 'path' that I follow. Of course I am Muslim - in that I believe in Allah ÓÈÍÇäå æÊÚÇáì, his Prophets (pbut), his angels and the Holy Book. However as of late I have really been struggling to find my feet either in the shia thought of school or sunni (originally raised as a shia) - there are some aspects which just don't sit right with me and I can feel my heart reject it - but then I worry that the truth is merely being rejected as a result of my own unworthiness. I fear for my afterlife as I know there are certain elements within shia'ism that, should you not adhere to, will cause you grief in the next world i.e. belief in Imam Mahdi. My heart feels heavy, confused and lost. I want to find the truth but I feel whenever I try to it's as if I am knocking my head on a wall. Does anyone have any advice or ever been in a similar situation?
  4. Salam. May Allah Swt bless us all on these nights of Qadr. If anyone here has duas for clarity in times of confusion please share them. W JazakAllah kheir
  5. AOA fellows, I had some questions in my mind for long and so i decided to post them on the forum.i know that my questions are basic and are a fundamental part of the Muslim faith but I never had an answer that could satisfy me. I would be really thankful if anyone could clear my confusions regarding TAUHID and Prophethood and other topics 1.The proof of the existence of a god 2.what makes us believe the fact that Islam is the right religion? 3.Why was Muhammad(PBUH) the last Prophet? every community before got a prophet and the answer that scholars provide to this is that they needed guidance. Why is that we have no prophet in this era who could guide us? are w better than those before us? 4.Why is that Allah revealed many religions (Judaism, christianity etc) before the introduction of Islam? i would be really thankful if anyone could help..
  6. The thread starter's post has been removed due to a request by them. Their question has been quoted just below: An atheist who knowingly rejects the truth can't be that good because: 1, They have been ungrateful to their creator and the creator of every other good thing. The source of all good. Even the atheist's ability to be good is from God. 2, Humans have been inherently designed to work better when they believe. A lack of belief causes humans to malfunction. Read: http://www.shiachat.com/forum/topic/235010653-religious-ideas-make-atheists-into-better-people/ If an atheist rejects God knowing the above evidence, then they are committing an action which makes them more susceptible to doing wrong. Such a decision is immoral. 3, Belief brings peace to people. An atheist is being immoral by making people disbelieve in a caring God and an afterlife. Consider that belief is strongly hard wired in the fitra; thus it takes a lot to disbelieve.
  7. IS there a reference which mentions habib b muzahir and muslim b ausaja as companions of the Prophet ? and not just companions of ALi b Abitalib
