  1. Salam, I have a question regarding the sahaba and their decision after the Prophet's ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم).A) passing. I read many stories of the sahaba and their justice and perseverance such as being torture to believe in Islam such as Abu Hudhayfa and Abu Jandal however after the Prophet, they all turned away from Imam Ali ((عليه السلام)) except a few. So my questions are: 1.why majority of the sahaba did not pledge or support him? 2.I read there was a hadith that said that Imam Ali would fought for his position if he had 40 sahaba with him but not even 40 sahaba (is this hadith reliable?) can support Imam Ali later but in personal army called the Shurtat Khamis there were a number of Sahaba who supported him in his battles. Sheikh Hassan Farhan Al Maliki said that about 70 veterans of Badr where with Imam Ali in his battles. Where were they? 3. Thank you.
  2. Salam un Alaykum! Should we call the companions of The Prophet(صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) and Imam Ali(عليه السلام), (رضي الله عنه) or (عليه السلام) For example: Salman(رضي الله عنه) Or would it be: Salman(عليه السلام) I know that the Imams(عليه السلام) have praised Salam quite extensively, so I think it would be fair to call him (عليه السلام) But what about other Great companions, who no one can raise a finger on, like: Ammar, Abu Dhar, Miqdad, Maytham, Zurarah, Malik Al Ashtar, Hur, Bilal?
  3. (salam) (bismillah) I came across this fatwa by al-Sistani that has been recently given. I found it interesting. Sunday, October 13, 2013835 MasonDearborn, MI 48124United StatesSee map: Google MapsQuestion No. 100644 The subject of the question: Insulting the companions and wives of the prophet (s.a.w.a.) --------------------------------------------- The Question: as-Salamu Alykum wa rahmatu Allah wa barakatuhu, A video clip has been seen several times on social network web sites showing a congregation during the martyrdom of al-Imam al-Jawad (a.s.). This group of people from the area known as al-A'dhamiyyah are shown shouting out insults upon 'Omar, A’isha, and others. Is this type of behavior condemned by the supreme religious authority, especially since it involves the insult of religious figures of our brothers of the Sunni school of thought, and it could potentially fuel unrest amongst the people of Iraq and jeopardize peace? The Answer: In The Name of Allah, The Beneficent, The Merciful This type of behavior is condemned, strongly denounced and contrary to the commands of the Imams of the Holy Household of the Prophet (s.a.w.a.) to their followers. Allah is The Guide. 4. We do hear and sometimes read precisely about 313 companions of Imam (A.S). I tried to find online book regarding 313 companions of IMAM (A.S) in english but unfortunate I didn't find any book. Kindly if someone can share a LINK or PDF Book online regarding 313 companions of IMAM (A.S).
  5. Read the Reddit comments to understand what the thread was about, since the post has since been deleted. ....................................................................................... I'm so tired of the utterly nonsensical and VERY COMMON Sunni notion of 'I am happy to seek unity with Shias as long as they don't curse/insult/abuse any Sahaba, and especially NOT Aisha, Abu Bakr, Omar, Uthman. Firstly, any Shia claim regarding the sahabi that happens to go against the Sunni narrative is considered insulting. Secondly, and more importantly, is that the same notion is true for Shias... You are insulting the Ahlul Bayt by not accepting them as divinely appointed leaders of Allah, and infallible individuals, and perfect preservers of the religion of Islam, and a high means of seeking closeness to Allah (intercession). Not only are you insulting revered Shia figures by not following them, you are commiting MAJOR shirk by giving a false attribute to Allah, by saying that Allah has not always appointed an infallible leader on this Earth, and that there currently isn't an infallible leader. Furthermore, the real kicker is that plenty of revered Shia figures, such as Abu Talib (رضي الله عنه), are considered kuffar by Sunnis. Is this not insulting? So, how can we Shias unite with Sunnis based on their own fallacious logic? Shias are the minority, and Sunnis are the majority. It makes Sunnis think that they are Orthodox and that they have to unite with Heterodox for political and humanitarian reasons, and that Shias must make [ridiculous] compromises. Shias are far more receptive to the unity message, because we actually understand Sunni Islam, and can see the commonalities. We understand that we can't make Sunnis compromise on their beliefs. Simply by being the minority within Islam, by nature we Shias already understand Sunni beliefs, whereas Sunnis have a basic strawman understanding of Shia beliefs... which is natural, considering that they are the majority. Anyways, the point of my post is the following: Let's compile a list of revered Shia figures that are not given their proper status by Sunnis, according to Shia Islam... with an explanation given. ...This is to show that we Shias and Sunnis can unite, but we cannot unite upon revered figures and imamah. ...This will also serve as a way of showing Sunnis that this argument of theirs makes no sense. Another important question we may ask is "What about commonly revered figures like Imam Ali (عليه السلام) who is given different status in both sects? Can we unite upon Imam Ali (عليه السلام)?" ...a common Sunni criticism of political unity is that "Ali ibn Abi Talib (رضي الله عنه) is given an improper status in Shia religion because they call upon him... tawassul (intercession) of the 'dead' is Shirk! So there is absolutely no room for unity since we can't even agree on the status of the sahabi" [yes, I am aware that the Imams (عليه السلام) are still alive, but Sunnis don't believe this...] I would love to hear your thoughts. Wassalam. JazakAllah Khair. Fi sabilillah.

  7. The simple question that comes in mind of a common person is why the companions of the prophet saww (famous in sunnis) or their sons/ tabiyeen did neither participate in the battle of Kerbela along with Imam Hussain AS against yazeed (LA) nor they were martyred? What kind of support these companions (famous in sunnis) or their sons provide to Imam Hussain AS against yazeed and his army? The discussion should be conducted in an academic manner free of insults please.
  8. Salam, Recently, I have been viewing a video about THE FOUR RIGHTFUL COMPANIONS, where the reciter showed hadith from 2 of the "Six Most Authentic Hadith Books" of Sunni school against the fact the most Sunnis know today, rather they know this with other names as taught to them. 1-Narrated Buraidah: that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: "Indeed Allah has ordered me to love four, and He informed me that He loves them." It was said: "O Messenger of Allah! Name them for us." He said: "'Ali is among them," saying that three times, "And Abu Dharr, Al-Miqdad, and Salman. And He ordered me to love them, and He informed me that He loves them." [ Jami` at-Tirmidhi » Chapters on Virtues http://sunnah.com/urn/635980] 2- Ibn Buraidah narrated that his father said: "The Messenger of Allah said: 'Allah has commanded me to love four people, and He told me that He also loves them.' He was asked: 'O Messenger of Allah, who are they?' He said: ''Ali is one of them,' and he said that three times, 'and Abu Dharr, Salman and Miqdad.'" [ Sunan Ibn Majah » The Book of the Sunnah » https://sunnah.com/urn/1251490] The reciter also mentioned the Ayat from Quran mentioning about this matter, which I couldn't get reference as of yet as he didn't mention the number/chapter. Anyone know such reference in Quran will be appreciated.
  9. The simple question that comes in mind of a common person is why the sons of the companions of the prophet saww (famous in sunnis) or tabiyeen did neither participate in the battle of Kerbela along with Imam Hussain AS against yazeed (LA) nor they were martyred? What kind of support these companions (famous in sunnis) or their sons provide to Imam Hussain AS against yazeed and his army? 10. Anas b. Malik reported that Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) said: The Dajjal would be followed by seventy thousand Jews of Isfahan wearing Persian shawls. حَدَّثَنَا مَنْصُورُ بْنُ أَبِي مُزَاحِمٍ، حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ حَمْزَةَ، عَنِ الأَوْزَاعِيِّ، عَنْ إِسْحَاقَ، بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ عَنْ عَمِّهِ، أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم قَالَ ‏ "‏ يَتْبَعُ الدَّجَّالَ مِنْ يَهُودِ أَصْبَهَانَ سَبْعُونَ أَلْفًا عَلَيْهِمُ الطَّيَالِسَةُ ‏"‏ ‏.‏ Reference : Sahih Muslim 2944, In-book reference : Book 54, Hadith 155 http://sunnah.com/muslim/54/155 the above hadith just mentions that jews will follow dajjal, the below mentioned weaknesses are observed in this hadit: 1. The name Persia ie faras has not been mentioned in its Arabic text and it is presumed to mean Persia. 2. The name Asbehan cannot mean to get the city name as esfahan. as the Persia ie faras has not been mentioned in the original Arabic text of hadith 3. the grading of the hadith is not available at the given link above and it cannot be assumed to be authentic just because it is mentioned in sahih Muslim. the grading of the hadith is imperative to judge it as authentic or daeef. 4. there are only few jews present in Persian city of Isfahan presently thus it is considered contrary to the facts there is also another hadith mentioning that he people of Persia are believers to get the belief anxiously Narrated Abu Hurairah: "Some people among the Companions of the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: 'O Messenger of Allah! Who are these people whom Allah mentioned, that if we turn away they would replace us, then they would not be like us?'" He said: "And Salman was beside the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ), so the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) patted Salman's thigh and said: 'This one and his companions, and by the One in Whose Hand is my soul! If faith were suspended from Pleiades, then it would be reached by men from Persia.'" There is tendency that people try to mold that the people of Persia are the sunni scholars who collected the ahdith and developed the book of hadith which does not meet the words of the prophet because it addresses the companions of hz Slaman RA and no one else. The analysis of the above hadith is further made in the following: The words of the prophet saww: Who are these people whom Allah mentioned, that if we turn away they would replace us, then they would not be like us? Behold! you are those who are called upon to spend in Allah's way, but among you are those who are niggardly, and whoever is niggardly is niggardly against his own soul; and Allah is Self-sufficient and you have need (of Him), and if you turn back He will bring in your place another people, then they will not be like you. (47:38) O you who believe! Whoever turns back among you from his religion, then soon Allah (will) bring a people whom He loves and they love Him, humble towards the believers (and) stern towards the disbelievers; striving in (the) way (of) Allah and not fearing the blame (of) a critic. That (is the) Grace (of) Allah, He grants whom He wills. And Allah (is) All-Encompassing, All-Knowing. (5:54) the companions are addressed that they will be replaced with the new nation. the hadith of the prophet saww mention that the companions will go out of the religion after the prophet saww. the Prophet saww has mentioned the Salaman RA, and his companions include Miqdada, Abuzar, and ammar RA and they are know as faithful companions of Imama Ali AS.and his shia. wasalam
  11. Salam Aleikum. Since our ultimate goal in this life is to establish truth and eradicate injustice, we should all long for the reappearance of our Savior Imam Al-Mahdi ÚÌøá Çááøå ÝÑÌå ÇáÔÑíÝ. But the Imam does not appear unless his truthful 313 companions are ready... What are the significant attributes of these 313 and how could we be a part of them. Are these 313 chosen by Allah or does every one of us have the potential to be among them? If anyone could refer some narrations from the Ahlulbayt(as) concerning this i would be grateful. Jazakallah khair jaz'a.
  12. Twelver shias often claim that they love the sahabah/companions of prophet saww. And we dont regard majority of them as unbelievers or apostates. Then why there is no any dedicated forum on ShiaChat where people can show their love and respect for sahabah.
  13. Why do shia curse the sahaba's of the Holy prophet Mohammad?? Sometimes i hear this when i listen to lectures by high shia scholars. So if you any can answer this question that would help :) thank you
  14. Salam Brothers and Sisters, Recently I have been researching about Imam Hussein's life and his companions at Karbala. I am looking for a content that describes the battle of karbala and the poetry that each companion recited before being martyrized. Does anyone have these content in English and in Arabic and could share with me? Salam.
  15. The companions of Imam Mahdi (a.t.f.s.) in the light of Quran and traditions All the sects of Islam in general, and in particular, the Shiah are steadfast in their belief, that prior to the advent of the Day of Judgement (Qiyamat), injustice and inequality will be rife in the earth. In such a condition, Allah, through His Proof (Hujjat) will fill the earth with justice and equality, as it will be filled with injustice and oppression. Execution of this momentous mission of altering the administration of the world requires the presence of an equally great personality. We all are aware that the great person being referred to here, is none other than Imam Mahdi (a.t.f.s.). To complete his divine mission successfully, Imam Mahdi (a.t.f.s.) will naturally require supporters and helpers. Inshallah, with the help of Allah and the grace of Imam Mahdi (a.t.f.s.), in this brief treatise, we shall delve into the characteristics of those personalities who will form the group of helpers of Imam Mahdi (a.t.f.s.). Using the Holy Quran and traditions of our Holy Imams (a.s.), we shall try to find about more about those who will assist him (a.s.) in cleansing this earth from the stain of injustice and inequality and replacing it with justice and equality. We shall divide our discussion into two sections; 1.The companions of Imam Mahdi (a.t.f.s.) in the light of verses of Holy Quran. 2.The companions of Imam Mahdi (a.t.f.s.) in the light of traditions. The companions of Imam Mahdi (a.t.f.s.) in the light of Quranic verses According to traditions of the infallible Imams (a.s.), numerous verses from the Holy Quran contain references to the companions of Imam Mahdi (a.t.f.s.) (may our lives be sacrificed for him). The commentaries and references under these verses draw our attention towards the characteristics and traits of the companions of Imam Mahdi (a.t.f.s.). Verse 1 …wherever you are, Allah will bring you all together;… (Surah Baqarah, verse 148) With reference to the above verse, Imam Jafar Sadiq (a.s.) says that this verse points to the companions of Imam Mahdi (a.t.f.s.). (Ghaybat-e-Nomani, page 313) Imam Baqir (a.s.) says that in reality this verse refers to those 313 companions of Imam Mahdi (a.s.) who will in a single moment gather around him (a.s.) (like moths gather around the glow of fire), between Rukn and Maqaam and pay allegiance to him (a.s.). Verse 2 And if We hold back from them the punishment until a stated period of time, they will certainly say: What prevents it?… (Surah Hud, verse 8) According to Imam Ali (a.s.), Ummat Madoodah (Maeaanah Ummat) refers to the 313 companions of Imam Mahdi (a.t.f.s.). (Tafseer Qummi, volume 1, page 323) Verse 3 …therefore if these disbelieve in it We have already entrusted with it a people who are not disbelievers in it. (Surah Anaam, verse 89) Imam Sadiq (a.s.) says that this verse is a reference to the special companions of Imam Mahdi (a.t.f.s.). (Ghaybat Nomani, page 316) Verse 4 …then Allah will bring a people, He shall love them and they shall love Him, lowly before the believers, mighty against the unbelievers,… (Surah Maedah, verse 54) Imam Sadiq (a.s.), after reciting this verse, recited its preceding verse, and said this verse too refers to the companions of the previous Divine proofs. (Tafseer-e-Ayyaashi, volume 1, page 326) Verse 5 And certainly We wrote in the Book after the reminder that (as for) the land, My righteous servants shall inherit it. (Surah Ambiya, verse 105) In an explanation to the above verse, Imam Baqir (a.s.) remarks that it refers to the companions of Imam Mahdi (a.t.f.s.) in the last days. (Tafseer-e-Majmaul Bayan, volume 7, page 66) Verse 6 Those who, should We establish them in the land, will keep up prayer and pay the poor-rate and enjoin good and forbid evil; and Allah?s is the end of affairs. (Surah Hajj, verse 41) In an exegesis to the above verse, Imam Baqir (a.s.) says that in reality, this verse has been revealed with reference to the companions of Imam Mahdi (a.t.f.s.). Allah will place the East and the West at their disposal, and through them He will establish His religion on this earth. There will remain no sign of injustice and oppression on this earth. (Yanaabi ul Mawaddah, page 425) Verse 7 Allah has promised to those of you who believe and do good that He will most certainly make them rulers in the earth as He made rulers those before them,… (Surah Noor, verse 55) Imam Zainul Abedin (a.s.), while swearing by Allah says that these are our lovers and our Shiahs. These are those who will be made the successors of this earth by Allah through the Mahdi (a.s.), who will be from amongst us. (Yanaabi ul Mawaddah, page 426) Readers should note that there is a promise made by Allah in the above verse and Allah never breaks His promise. If Allah promises that the rightful inheritors of this earth will be the companions of Imam Mahdi (a.t.f.s.), then taking a cue from the tradition we should wait for this day with restlessness. Allahs promise refers to that Imam Mahdi (a.t.f.s.), who, after his reappearance will fill the earth with justice and equality, just as it will be filled (at that time) with injustice and oppression. At this juncture, we raise our hands and pray to Allah, that by the waseelah of Janabe Zahra (sa), Allah grants us the taufeeq (opportunity) of waiting for Imam Mahdi (a.t.f.s.) in the true sense of the word – that we may strive to prepare the earth for his reappearance. And that after his reappearance, our names be included in the celebrated list of companions who will help Imam Mahdi (a.t.f.s.) in his mission. The companions of Imam Mahdi (a.t.f.s.) in the light of traditions Lets us see what are the characteristics and special attributes of the companions of Imam Mahdi (a.t.f.s.) in the light of traditions. Úáíå ÇáÓáÇã The number of companions Aban Ibn Tuglab narrates that, ?During my visit to Makkah, I presented myself in the company of Imam Sadiq (a.s.) in Masjidul Haram, and was honored by the opportunity to kiss his hand. He (a.s.) said, ?O Aban, very soon, Allah will fill this Masjid with 313 persons. (Ghaybat-e-Nomani, page 313). In another tradition, Imam Jafar Sadiq (a.s.) says, ?Imam Qaem (a.s.) will not leave the city of Makkah till such time, that he completes the size of his group.Abu Baseer, a famous companion of Imam Sadiq (a.s.) once asked the Holy Imam (a.s.) about the size of Imam Mahdis (a.s.) group, to which Imam (a.s.) replied, Ten thousand. Apparently, the above traditions may appear in conflict with each other. But there is no contradiction. Explanations, which appear under these traditions, inform us that Imam Mahdi (a.t.f.s.), will have 313 ?special companions?. Besides these, he (a.s.) will also enjoy the help and support of other people who will be his companions. ( B) The characteristics of Imam Mahdi?s (a.s.) companions While narrating the features of the companions of Imam Mahdi (a.t.f.s.), Imam Sadiq (a.s.) narrates that,They will be such men, that their hearts will be like pieces of iron. There will exist not a shred of doubt in their minds, nor will they ever harbour any doubts. To uphold the rights of Allah, they will be unyielding (like hard stone). They will constantly circumambulate the presence of the Holy Imam as moth circumambulate the fire (as they are attracted to the glow of the fire). They will submit themselves in the service of Imam Mahdi (a.t.f.s.). They will remain awake in the nights, and worship of Allah Through out. Their voices, as they worship Allah, will be similar to the humming sound of the honeybees. They will remain alert during the nights and prepare for jehad during the days. They will always be attentive towards the service and obedience of Imam Mahdi (a.t.f.s.). (Behaar ul Anwaar, volume 52, page 300) © The strength of the companions of Imam Mahdi (a.t.f.s.) He said: Ah! that I had power to suppress you, rather I shall have recourse to a strong support. (Surah Hud, verse 80) While explaining the above verse of the Holy Quran, Imam Sadiq (a.s.), quotes the words used by Hazrat Lut (a.s.) for his nation It is unfortunate that I do not possess the power and strength to control you. How excellent it would be, if I had the support of the people against you. Imam Sadiq (a.s.), while continuing his narration says, The power and strength, which is desired by Hazrat Lut, is in fact the strength of Hazrat Qaem (a.s.) and the steadfastness of his companions. Each companion of Imam Mahdi (a.t.f.s.) will possess the power and the capacity equivalent to 40 people. Their hearts will be stronger than iron. If they pass by a mountain, then they will reduce it to dust. (Kamaaluddin, volume, page 673) The above traditions highlights the amazing power and strength of each companion of Hazrat Mahdi (a.s.) – such power that even a prophet like Hazrat Lut (a.s.) is desirous of it. (d) The personalities of the companions of Hazrat Mahdi (a.s.) Imam Baqir (a.s.) in a prophecy says that,I see the companions of Imam Mahdi (a.t.f.s.) controlling every thing in the East and the West. Every entity of this world will be involved in their obedience. Even the animals and the birds will be content in their obedience. The segments of the earth will take pride of pride themselves over each other saying that,Today, a companion of Imam Mahdi (a.t.f.s.) has walked upon me. (Behaar ul Anwaar, volume 52, page 327). All the traditions enumerated above draw our attention to a special detail that will be found in every companion of Imam Mahdi (a.t.f.s.). A thought provoking point is that whatever has been stated above, if we pay attention to it, will lead us to the conclusion that these points are not new at all! In fact these are exactly the Islamic way of life which has been taught to us by Quran, the Holy Prophet (s.a.w.a.) and Imams (a.s.). Also, a detail which should not be overlooked is that the companions of Imam Mahdi (a.t.f.s.) will not have any special medicine, which on consumption will enable all these characteristics to develop automatically in their personalities! A cursory glance at the history of Islam, from the Holy Prophet (s.a.w.a.) to the 11th Imam, Imam Hasan Askari (a.s.) informs us that the companions of each of the infallible leaders (a.s.) were personalities of great eminence. We can quote examples of Salman Farsi, Miqdad, Misam-e-Tammar, Hisham ibn Hakam, Abu Baseer and many more. In all these personalities we find the same high details and morals that have been stated for the companions of Imam Mahdi (a.t.f.s.). Each one of us is anxious for and desirous of being included amongst the companions of Imam Mahdi (a.t.f.s.) and we all pray to Allah to grant us the opportunity for the same. In any case, it is necessary to support this desire with our actions. It is essential that we strive to develop the same characteristics and actions into our personalities that is worthy of the companions of Imam Mahdi (a.t.f.s.). Let us all pray to Allah that he kindles this desire in our heart for the companionship of Imam Mahdi (a.t.f.s.). And that He grants us taufeeq to strive to develop the same characteristics and high moral traits that is expected from one desirous of the companionship of Imam Mahdi (a.t.f.s.). http://www.almuntazar.com/?p=229
  16. What is the main reason that the majority of the Muslim terrorist belong to Sunni sect? I'm very curious. One of my friend told me that some of the companions left a legacy(Such as Umar attacked Persia and committed a Persian genocide when he converted them into Islam) and their teachings are extremist teachings. Is it true? If so, please go in-depth for detailed knowledge on their legacy. Thanks a lot brothers.
  17. Assalamu Alaykum, These are 29 episodes in which Shikh Mohamad Kanaan talks about the Imaams companions. His Arabic is almost flawless, great lectures. http://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL630291BBC5A2B5CC
  18. I ask Sunni brothers: 1- Can your prayers be complete without Durood? IF yes then come up with full evidence۔ And if not, tell us since the blessings are just sent upon Muhammad saww and his progeny and not upon his companions or wives in prayers, When the prayers in this manner can be complete without sending blessings to companions or wives, why does Sunnis add the names of these groups to Durood on occasions other than prayers? 2- Mention a saheeh and authentic text hadith of the holy prophet saww with complete source wherein it is reported that it is obligatory to send Durood upon all the companions or wives of the holy prophet saww. And also tell if it is obligatory then how can your prayers be in order without them?
  19. I was doing quick research on the path that Ahlu Sunnah sect took to gather their hadiths amid the plethora of hadiths that were narrated by Ahlulbayt. It is well accepted that Hadith documentation and teaching was forbidden in the times of the 3 Khulafa. A closer look though shows that this forbiddance was not absolute. The history shows a number of companions who went against this law, taught hadiths to other Muslims and confronted the authority with it. Shia school usually focuses on the Ahlulbayt contribution and role in those hard times and usually ignores the rest of the companions. A great number of Shia scholars reasoned this ban to be directed against Ahlulbayt specifically. Ibn Um Abd or Ibn Masoud is an intersting hadith narrator, he is not usually associated with the Shia of Imam Ali, but in the same time he had narrated many hadiths about Ahlulbayt. Some Shia scholars concluded from this that the 3 banned the hadith to cover their defeciency in knowledge. Ibn Masoud was the sixth Muslim man, he was among the earlist men who recited Quran loudly in Mekkah and was one of those who attended Bay'atulRidhwan. He was forced to saty in Madinah during Umar time by a direct order from Umar. Umar forced many Sahabah to stop spreading the hadith of prophet, some were leashed, some were imprisoned and others were exiled. Among them was Ibn Masoud who was forced to stay in Madinah. It is also important to note that during Abu Bakr rule and Umar rule, there were a number of Muslims who wrote hadiths despite the ban. These incidents appear discreatly in history books while mentioning the ban of hadith documentation. Some narrations will mention the burning of hadith books that were written during Umar time which tells that people did not stop writing the hadiths. Ibn Masoud is thought to be one amongst those who did not stop documenting the hadith. It is also important to note that we some narrations mention that Ibn Masoud himself destroyed a book of hadith that was speaking specifically about the merits of Ahlulbayt. Acouple of other narrations mention that Ibn Masoud had rarely narrated something from the prophet and when he dide he shivered and sweat. It is worth telling as well that by the time Uthman was the Khalifah, total hadith ban policy proved to be ineffective, Uthman and the Umayad rulers allowed certain set of hadiths to be taught to people most of which were hadiths related to fiqh that Umar had approved. I wonder if any Sunni here will have the gut to tell me how Ibn Masoud died? It was during Uthamn time .....Uthman did not like Ibn Masoud, he beat him ... Ibn Masoud passed away later.
  20. Salamun Alaikum, I came across a very stunning hadith, and I would like to share it and receive your reflection. (4) Abu Sulayman Ahmad bin Hawtha al-Bahili narrated from Abu Iss~haq Ibraheem bin Iss~haq an-Nahawandi from Abdullah bin Hammad al-Ansari from someone that one of the companions had come to Abu Abdullah as-Sadiq (s) and said to him: “May I die for you! By Allah, I love you and love whoever loves you. O my master, how many your Shia are!” Abu Abdullah as-Sadiq (s) said: “Would you please mention them?” The man said: “They are too many.” He said: “Could you count them?” The man said: “They are much more than to be counted.” Abu Abdullah as-Sadiq (s) said: “If the number becomes three hundred and a little more then what you want will happen. Our Shia are those, whose voice dose not pass beyond their ears, nor does their zeal go beyond their body, nor do they praise us openly, nor quarrel with anyone because of us, nor sit with anyone criticizing us, nor talk with anyone abusing us, nor love whoever hates us and do not hate whoever loves us.” ÝÞáÊ: ÝßíÝ ÃÕäÚ ÈåÐå ÇáÔíÚÉ ÇáãÎÊáÝÉ ÇáÐíä íÞæáæä Åäåã íÊÔíÚæä¿ ÝÞÇá: Ýíåã ÇáÊãííÒ æÝíåã ÇáÊãÍíÕ æÝíåã ÇáÊÈÏíá¡ íÃÊí Úáíåã Óäæä ÊÝäíåã¡ æÓíÝ íÞÊáåã¡ æÇÎÊáÇÝñ íÈÏÏåã. The man said: “Then how do we deal with these different groups, who pretend that they are Shia?” He said: “They will be tried, purified and distinguished. Years come that will perish them, a sword that will kill them and disagreement that will scatter them. Our real Shia are those, who do not growl like a dog, do not covet like a crow and do not ask people for alms even if they die of hunger.” The man said: “May I die for you! Where can I find such a kind of people?” He said: “You can find them in the far sides of the world. They are those, whose lives are so simple, whose abodes move from place to another, who if are seen, will not be known, if absent, will not be missed, if become ill, will not be visited, if propose to a woman, will not be married and if die, their funerals will not be attended. It is they, who divide their monies among them, who visit each other in their graves and who never disagree even if their countries are different.”[1] The same was narrated by Muhammad bin Hammam from Hameed bin Ziyad al-Kufi from al-Hasan bin Muhammad bin Suma’a from Ahmad bin al-Hasan al-Maythami from Ali bin Mansoor from Ibraheem bin Muhzim al-Asadi from his father from Abu Abdullah as-Sadiq (s) but with an addition: æÅäú ÑÃæÇ ãÄãäÇð ÃßÑãæå¡ æÅä ÑÃæÇ ãäÇÝÞÇð åÌÑæå¡ æÚäÏ ÇáãæÊ áÇ íÌÒÚæä¡ æÝí ÞÈæÑåã íÊÒÇæÑæä… “If they see a believer, they will honor him and if they see a hypocrite, they will leave him aside.
