Salam Aleykum Brothers and Sisters in Islam! There seems to be a new Fatwa by Seyed Ayatollah Sistani! According to the past this was stated in the Q&A section of his (the emince) website Question: What is your ruling about cat hair on a person's dress during salat? Answer: Cat hair does not make prayers void. Cat Hair 2Question: Can I keep a cat in my house? Answer: There is no problem. Animals 3Question: Does cat hair affect your prayers. Answer: According to Grand Ayatollah Sistani, cat hair does not affect the prayers. Animals 4Question: What is the Islamic law about cat hair found on your clothes during prayer? Answer: Cat hair does not affect your prayer. Now lately looking into the Q&A section it got some changes! Question: What is your ruling about cat hair on a person's dress during salat? Answer: If there is one cat hair or there are two or three hairs on a person's body or clothe, his prayer is in order but if there are more than that, his prayer becomes void, as an obligatory precaution. Cat Hair 2Question: Can I keep a cat in my house? Answer: There is no problem. Animals 3Question: Does cat hair affect your prayers. Answer: According to Grand Ayatollah Sistani, cat hair does not affect the prayers. Now my question is what does this tell me now, cause it got me really confused when u look at question 1 and question 3, here. Is it now permissible to pray with cathair on your clothes or even on your prayer rugs or not. The problem is I am a follower of him and had persian cats over so many years. Now this is stated and obviously my cats didn't die. What shall I do? I will do whatever it takes to make my Salat being Inshallah accepted by Allah swt. but there must be something or an option without giving them away! If you could help me I would remember you in my supplications! Wa Salam Seyed Ashkan "WalAsr"

I want to adopt a Cat, but some people and my family don't agree with it and don't alow me. They say that Cat is a Haram animal and it will have negative effects in our home. Is this thought correct? I can take care of this animal and complete its every need as I have affection for these creatures and love them.

(Salam) So Another stray cat has found its way to my house. I had about a dozen domesticated pigeons and this little monster with a cute voice ate most of them and I count four of them left. In the past, I have had to deal with similar stray cats and even a mongoose who ate my baby rabbits and their mum. I just saw this cat attacking my pigeons who are scared to death since weeks and perch out on a wire hanging over the porch due to this cat. I was about to kill it having it plain in my sight 10 feet away, then it started mewing seductively and sniffing about for food. Then I have resorted to offer it a piece of bread from the kitchen. But I am afraid I won't accept his nuisance any more. If he attacks my pigeons then he is going down like a few before him. I have no other solution I can think of. Already I am feeding two stray cats, one of them a kitten I have adopted and a big sober orange male cat, but they do not bother me. I seriously wonder what would Ayt. Bahjat say? Obviously I do not enjoy killing anything to say the least. In my early youth I have shot so many wild boars, porcupine rats and ducks because they tasted good but I just want to be left alone by pests and fear God.

Salam's brothers and sisters, I own a cat pet which lives indoors and often goes outside, however she does have a litter box and she manages to litter in that when she can. I feed her canned and dry food, now the food i that i give her is the usual canned food you buy from the department stores they are not halal certified. They usually come in beef, chicken or fish. The dry food comes in also different flavors and types that are available to the general public. My question is that if i feed my lunch then say after 5 mins now, as you no the nature of the cat is to usually lick her self or self cleaning as they say many times during the day, she would lick lick lick, so my question is if i touch her hair for example with my wet hands, are my hands now najis and whatever it touches, or if my cat licks her legs and then goes outside after it has rained making her feet also wet would it be in the state of najasat? i would like if someone could answer it.

I have been researching on the internet as would like to ask here as well. I have seen a detailed response at Islamqa.com, but would like to see if our Marjas have anything on it. Basically me and my family would like to neuter my 8-month old kitten/cat, she is treated as good as we can, so ofcourse no unjust treatment is upon her. The only reason I wish to neuter her is that she will get cranky soon, might have other complications and if she is to have the 5-cat litter, I would have to take care of 'em all, or give them away. If the litter or multiple litters are mistreated, then it is upon me. Therefore my question, as we treat her very kindly and with love, can we neuter her? Thanks guys.
