  1. So, for a while now I've noticed that ny skin dries up after wudhu and I don't particularly like the feeling and I feel bad for my skin; I avoid using lotion tho cause I've read on some Sunni site that it invalidates your Salah and not your wudhu either. I know it's better to use non alcoholic lotions but it's hard to find and also why shouldn't you use alcohol containing products after wudhu? Is it fine if you wait a little and let the alcohol evaporate (like perfumes for examples)?
  2. salam alykum wrwb, what are your views in regards to beauty especially in a spousal selection. Other than the guidelines in the Qur'an do we have a standard perception of beauty? In a lecture, one of the the disturbing things mentioned was that light complexion signifies health & fertility. Dark complexion societies thrive still. It would have been beautiful had he said something in the line of light on light, black on light, black on black. So do you share the same views, that white is beautiful or clean or healthy or fertile()? I can't upload the lecture, it is beautiful there & there. ws
  3. I am human, I make mistakes, therefore please correct my reasoning with references if possible, as I have separated from my partner over the matter of "displaying one's beauty", and perhaps I am wrong in my thought process. In the situation of a woman who does not observe hijab, but covers her body well; My reasoning: it is wrong to post your photos on social media where men are able to view your photo. Allah says in the quran do not display your beauty. You are a woman with beauty, you are posting a photo on social media, you are displaying yourself on social media, by posting on social media, it is an act of displaying yourself. I don't know how else I can say it. It is not the same as going to work. The thought here is "I am going to work". It is not the same as walking down the street to get somewhere and people see you, because the thought is "I am going to x place". When you post a photo, the thought is "I will post a picture of myself on instagram " in other words "I will display myself on instagram". You are therefore unnecessarily displaying your beauty to men. Even if the woman observes proper hijab, it is an act of "I will display myself on the internet by posting this photo"; it isn't a charity photo, a conference video, you giving a lecture, it's simply to share a "fun" or "precious" or "happy" moment with the people on social media (which includes male cousins, friends, strangers, etc.). Am I wrong in my thinking? Can someone explain it in a more articulate way rather than my caveman explanation?
  4. salam everyone, i was wondering if eyelash lifting is permissible with wudu? or eyebrow feathering?? i recently found out that eyelash extensions isn't i follow sayed sistani. thank you in advance
  5. What are the most effective beauty secrets? Though, beauty is in the eye of the beholder, but there are sheet facts and so called secrets that can make you look more impressive and appealing. Top among them seems to be meticulous harmony between different physical organs, then the curves and curling Allah has granted His creatures and finally the appealing colors Allah has covered us All with. Allah is the most beautiful and hence the world along with all creatures are beautiful. Finally, everyone would agree me that beauty in character can outclass his serious rival ‘physical beatitude’. Thanks May Allah Sees us as Beautiful Creatures as He was Proud of us while Creating!
  6. Salaam aleikom! I was discussing a couple of days ago with my friends about men and what they seek in wives. I know that looks doesn't matter to most woman (well, looks as in he doesn't have to be a model) but when me and my friends discussed, one friend of mine said that looks matter so much to men that they'd choose a non-religious wife who's very beautiful rather than a "normal" looking, average girl who's as religious as they want their wife to be. Now I can't read minds. I don't have a husband and no brothers that I can talk to regarding this topic. So I'd like to ask some of the brothers here on SC. 1. Would you rather pick a Angelina Jolie kind of girl but she's not religious or would you rather pick a average looking girl but who fits your religiousity criteria? 2. How important is looks? 70 %? 60 %? 3. Could you accept a girl who's beuatiful but has for example acne, under eye circles or bad teeth etc... Meaning, does she have to be perfect? Sorry if this topic has been brought up before. Nevertheless, I still hope you can help me. Thank you!
