Assalamualaikum, I always do the azan for my prayers loudly(In my room) but my mum likes to put the azan on the computer so that it can echo around the house. Is it wrong to do this? The way I think of it is the angels come to your house when they hear the azan but doing the azan again is like calling them for no reason. If it is wrong to do this, how am I supposed to tell her?

Salaam all, Without a doubt the consensus among the Marja appears to be that testifying Ali (as) is the Wali of Allah in the athaan is mustahab (recommended) and I myself encourage taqlid in fiqh. But what is everyone's opinion on this despite:- i.) classical ulema not doing it (ie, saduq). ii.) the imams (as) not doing it. Looking at this objectively it appears this is a bid'at which has crept in through the backdoor just like zanjeer rituals? I do not mean to hurt any feelings, this is merely an objective discussion for us to follow the ahl al bayt (a.s) https://shiareformist.files.wordpress.com/2016/01/ali-un-waliullah-in-adhan.pdf Disclaimer : I do not necessarily agree with any of the content posted on the website above.

https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.fastingtofit.namaztimes One of the blessings we take for granted is the sound of azan which we miss living in western countries. I have created a free Android app that calculates namaz timings and plays azan at the scheduled times. Although there are many other apps available for the same thing, this is my humble contribution and I have tried to keep it simple and functional by pledging that I will never have any ads showing on my app and it will be free. Please do download and try it and don't forget to provide me your feedback. If you like it please rate on play store as well. Wasalam https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.fastingtofit.namaztimes Namaz Times is a lightweight app that calculates and displays the Namaz Timings (Salaat) and plays Azan alarm for Muslims all over the world. Namaz Times plays Azan Notifications (Sunni and Shia) at calculated Namaz timings. Namaz Times has been designed to be very simple and can be customized to calculate Prayer times using different Juristic Methods and allows the user to choose the Azan. Your feedback and suggestions to make the Namaz Times app better are always welcome. * No Annoying Ads on screen. * Simple, Clean and easy app to use. * Remember to set up the app using the Settings on first run to calculate times accurately.

Salams This is the second time I have witnessed a Muslim playing the Azaan alarm on his mobile phone on public transport in Sydney. This is rude and unacceptable in my humble opinion. As the peak-hour commuters turned around and looked at the guy hoping that he will show courtesy of turning it off, the 'Muslim mujahid' probably thought that he was inspiring the white man and other non-Muslims. Forcing a sacred recitation in the heads of others not only adds to the hate from the outside but it also causes embarrassment and dissociation from the inside. :End: Rant of the Day.

Is there any Shia mobile app that provides: prayer time, azan, & log prayers? I have found the app, Athan (https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/athan-prayer-timings-tracking/id505858403?mt=8) , which has Sunni prayer times--is there something equivalent for Shias? The Athan app also allows ones to log prayer and keep track. And additionally, can someone provide other good mobile apps for anything Shia? Thanks. Salaams, TYE

Salam, I understand that if you combine two prayers, one Azan is sufficient. Lets say I offer Duhr and 'Asr with a significant gap. Do I have to make Azan again when I pray 'Asr? TQ
