Hello brothers and sisters, I have come to this forum in order to make myself feel at ease, as I don't know how to make things better any other way. My sister is an athiest. We grew up in a very loving home, although we had trouble with an abusive father (a father who grew up in a war torn country with a horrible upbringing) my mother is loving and is the most kind and caring person on this planet. She poured her life and soul into me and my siblings growing up. She has always been a very religious Muslim mother and she tried her very best to make us all pray and read the Quran. My father has changed a lot in the years and is not the violent person towards us as he was years ago, so I don't quite understand why my sister is the way she is now (if she says the reason is because of how my father used to be). I have not grown up to be the most religious person in the world, but I still know I have a very special relationship with Allah in my own special way. I know he is looking down at me and guiding me on the right path. I don't know why my sister turned out to not believe in God, but it makes me feel uneasy. My mother worked hard all her life to teach us how to pray and read the Quran, and I know it would break her heart to know one of her children turned out like this. Everytime I speak about our religion, she seems to dislike it more and more and I know theres nothing I can do to change her mind myself (she doesn't listen to me out of spite). I would like to ask a couple of questions, brothers and sisters please be kind. How do I make myself feel better about this? How can I help her, if that is possible? How do I deal with her doing and saying things out of spite? Does Allah show people the right path? Will Allah hate her for turning her back? As someone who isn't that religious I've come here with a lot of hope in my heart. Thank you.

I’ve always been religious and started praying at a young age by myself. It was just me and Allah- like Allah was my only friend. One day I watched a video on YouTube and it said that how Allah is so far away. I felt like Allah was really faraway. Slowly it started becoming is Allah really there? I know it says that Allah’s closer to our jugular vein but I just I don’t know. My Imaan is so weak that the belief in Allah is going up and down. One minute it’s there an the next minute it’s not. It’s like my heart doesn’t want to accept like I feel a tightening in my chest. I want to have that connection again. I’m 18 and people usually come to me for advice like my cousins, aunties, school mates and friends. I feel SO fake. They will go to heaven not me. It seems like my heart wants to accept other fake religions but I know that if I do I will go to hell. I can’t get these shirk thoughts of Jesus being the... I can’t even say it. It’s like I’m starting to believe what’s in my head. Help! The religion Islam feels like a burden but I’m constantly asking Allah to guide me to the right way. I want to understand Islam simply. It’s like other people believe and I don’t because my heart is blind. I see so many Christians convert to Islam but there I am. Was I doomed from the beginning? I have a very low tolerance for pain and really don’t want to go hell. I’m scared. I want to die a shaheedan! Why is this happening to me? I know that if I were to die right now I would go hell. Yet the people around me who take advice from me and benefit from me will think I’ve gone heaven. I cry so much and try to have hope but I can’t. I haven’t told any family members or any friends. I really can’t.

Salam everyone, So a (shia) friend of mine has been recently watching videos about atheism and is now asking me question like why is shia islam right.. stuff like that. He is now asking me why Shia islam is right out of the thousand religions in the world and what about everyone else who was born as Christian, Hindu etc. I do not have enough knowledge, and I hope you guys can help this person.

I have just joined this site though I should introduce myself here.I was raised as Muslim and I left Islam a year ago.As I was raised a Sunni I had no idea what are the core beliefs of Shia Muslims and how they are different from mainstream Muslims.Only thing I knew about Shia was that they abuse sahaba that was my knowledge about shia.I am curious to know about shias.I would be very grateful if anybody can help me understand shias. These are few of my questions. Does Shia beleive that Sunnis are Muslims ? please don't give your personal opinion.I wanna know about what Shia theology says about sunnis. Are they gonna go to "Jannat" ? And more important is it part of shia religion to abuse sahaba or just they curse first three caliphs out of sheer hatred ?

The thread starter's post has been removed due to a request by them. Their question has been quoted just below: An atheist who knowingly rejects the truth can't be that good because: 1, They have been ungrateful to their creator and the creator of every other good thing. The source of all good. Even the atheist's ability to be good is from God. 2, Humans have been inherently designed to work better when they believe. A lack of belief causes humans to malfunction. Read: http://www.shiachat.com/forum/topic/235010653-religious-ideas-make-atheists-into-better-people/ If an atheist rejects God knowing the above evidence, then they are committing an action which makes them more susceptible to doing wrong. Such a decision is immoral. 3, Belief brings peace to people. An atheist is being immoral by making people disbelieve in a caring God and an afterlife. Consider that belief is strongly hard wired in the fitra; thus it takes a lot to disbelieve.

This book by far, is one of my favorite books ever. I recommend everyone to at least take a look at it and see what it contains. It has EVERYTHING you can think of, literally. Not all the contents are named within the sections in the online version, so you would have to check out the chapter to see its contents. If you have any comments or reviews, please post so we all can read. Here is the full book: http://www.al-islam.org/universe/ WaSalaam

"Does the koran teach to kill, tax or convert infidels as a general principle? Also does the Koran teach that in the last day trees will cry out there is a Jew behind me come and kill him?" The simple answer is NO. It does NOT, and anti-Islamic propagandists that claim Islam is spread by the sword or evil like Pastor Terry Jones need to have that planted in their thick brainless skulls. We often suffer from the lies and propaganda that the wahabis spread to degrade Shia Islam but we pay less attention to the bigger enemies that attack our holy prophet and noble Quran. At the same time ,the dajjal and liar Terry Jones and his Shayteen(devils) in his church and the likes of them are the people who the media narrowly focuses on to portray Islam to others, so it is our wajib(duty) to go out there and refute their baseless claims. Unfortunately, we do not show much effort to refute them , and the only reaction coming from Muslims in general that the western media focuses on is from the Wahabis, in which they respond to them in the most uncivilized and uneducated manner. Fortunately, however, one of our Shia western Imams went out in public and had an open dialogue with terry Jones on public television and entirely refuted his baseless claims. The Imam is Hassan Al-Quizin and he is the leader of the Islamic mosque of Dearborn , which is the largest mosque in all of North America. Here is the video below showing how Imam Quizini destroyed Terry Jones. This also an article from a Sunni website refuting the idea that Islam is spread by the sword and gives a detailed answer to the question I wrote in italics above. It also explains how some of the verses in the Quran that mentions kuffar, jews and Christians can easily be misinterpreted. http://spa.qibla.com/issue_view.asp?HD=7&ID=9801&CATE=1427 I personally like this Sunni website. They are purely anti-wahabi and salafi. Plus they believe in unity with the Shias as well. Here are answers from their websites expressing their opinions on the Shias. http://spa.qibla.com/issue_view.asp?HD=7&ID=9787&CATE=24 http://spa.qibla.com/issue_view.asp?HD=7&ID=13662&CATE=1

According to latest stats: India-49% of men are actively seeking or indulging in extra-marital affairs. Women don't lag much behind. Pakistan-7% of men are actively seeking or indulging in extra-marital affairs (they are the next highest offender!) Egypt-6% of men are actively seeking or indulging in extra-marital affairs Saudi Arabia-5% of men are actively seeking or indulging in extra-marital affairs In India too, Hindu couples are the highest on the infidelity index, Indian Muslims being on the lowest in India, apparently that's one bad thing they have not assimilated themselves yet into, but that's a different discussion. Thanks to Islam which puts even heavier legal penalties on illicit affairs between married couple, while the legal penalties of non-married illicit affairs being already very strong and in most cases deterring.

Salam Brother and sisters, Tohfa Ya Ali Madad, i need some answers, The Questions are: 1: what would you say if, i as a scientist, proved there was a sentient being living on the planet Saturn, and I found a way to communicate with it, and he told me he was the real god, and offered me a wealth of information and data proving such? I then take that data, and show it to the world and give them means to communicate with this being. one god absolutely proven, and its not yours, what would you do? 2: if you think god is unseen, than how has anyone translated what he deems correct human behavior? if humans cannot comprehend a god's presence, how has your 'prophets' done so? doesn't it seem a tad bias to claim "god talks to me, and only I can hear his words." well some atheist guy asked me these questions,, and obv am not a scholar, nor i have enuff knowledge to answer his questions... so i kinda looking for help... Please reply :) thanks

Imam Khomeini (ra) has proven existence of a Creator through this highly logical reasoning. It does not rely on any thing else except pure logic. "It is intellectually clear and every body knows it intuitively that anything the existence and non-existence of which is equally possible, cannot come into existence automatically and that there must be an external force to bring it into existence. The first cause of bringing into existence all possibly existing things must be an eternal and self-existing being. If it is supposed that the imaginary upper space, and it must be imaginary because it is a non-entity, has always existed, then it possibly can neither automatically turn into anything nor anything can come into existence in it automatically. The assertion of some people that in the beginning the whole world was an infinite vacuum (anything being infinite is questionable in itself) in which subsequently appeared a sort of steam from which everything has originated, does not stand to reason, for without an external cause no new thing can appear nor can one thing change into another thing. For example, water does not freeze nor does it boil without an external cause. If its temperature remains constant and does not go below 0 degrees nor above 100 degrees it will always remain water. In short, the existence of an external cause is essential for every change. Similarly nothing the existence of which is only possible can come into existence without an external cause. These facts are self-evident truths."

(bismillah) In The Name of Allah (SWT) , The Most Beneficent, The Most Merciful. (salam) I hope, and pray, that you are all in the best of health and, more importantly, Imaan (faith). So, I have a question for all the members here, including non-Muslims and atheists. Bi'that refers to the occurrence in history where Prophet Muhammed (pbuh) , a the age of 40, declared his Prophethood. My question to you all is, if you were an atheist before this incident and were, then, presented with Islam, what would make you accept Islam as the religion you want to follow? For atheists, I will modify the question a bit and ask "what is the criteria for you when deciding which ideology you want to follow? Also, for those who reply, I will ask you further questions and maybe even criticise your reasons. This is not because I am against Islam (I am a Muslim!) but because, apart from showing the strengths of Islam, I also have others reasons for starting this thread like finding out what, according to the different members here, is the best method to use when deciding on which ideology to follow. So, if one of you says I would accept Islam for XTZ reasons, I may ask you to clarify further or criticise you but that neither means that the reasons you gave are not valid or that I am against Islam. Thank you for all the replies in advance! :D May Allah (SWT) bless us all, our families and loved ones, may He guide us all to The Straight Path with His Perfect Guidance and may He, The Forgiver of Sins and The Oft-Forgiving, forgive all our sins for, indeed, there is neither any refuge nor any respite for the sinners except in Allah (SWT) .

THE LINK BETWEEN GOD AND MEN An Atheist Professor of Philosophy was speaking to his Class on the Problem Science has with GOD, the ALMIGHTY. He asked one of his New Students to stand and . . .. ... Professor : You are Believer , aren’t you, son ? Student : Yes, sir. Professor : So, you Believe in GOD ? Student : Absolutely, sir. Professor : Is GOD Good ? Student : Sure. Professor : Is GOD ALL - POWERFUL ? Student : Yes. Professor : My Brother died of Cancer even though he Prayed to GOD to Heal him. Most of us would attempt to help others who are ill. But GOD didn’t. How is this GOD good then? Hmm? (Student was silent ) Professor : You can’t answer, can you ? Let’s start again, Young Fella. Is GOD Good? Student : Yes. Professor : Is Satan good ? Student : No. Professor : Where does Satan come from ? Student : From . .. . GOD . . . Professor : That’s right. Tell me son, is there evil in this World? Student : Yes. Professor : Evil is everywhere, isn’t it ? And GOD did make everything. Correct? Student : Yes. Professor : So who created evil ? (Student did not answer) Professor : Is there Sickness? Immorality? Hatred? Ugliness? All these terrible things exist in the World, don’t they? Student : Yes, sir. Professor : So, who Created them ? (Student had no answer) Professor : Science says you have 5 Senses you use to Identify and Observe the World around you. Tell me, son .. . . Have you ever Seen GOD? Student : No, sir. Professor : Tell us if you have ever Heard your GOD? Student : No , sir. Professor : Have you ever Felt your GOD, Tasted your GOD, Smelt your GOD? Have you ever had any Sensory Perception of GOD for that matter? Student : No, sir. I’m afraid I haven’t. Professor : Yet you still Believe in HIM? Student : Yes. Professor : According to Empirical, Testable, Demonstrable Protocol, Science says your GOD doesn’t exist. What do you say to that, son? Student : Nothing. I only have my Faith. Professor : Yes, Faith. And that is the Problem Science has. Student : Professor, is there such a thing as Heat? Professor : Yes. Student : And is there such a thing as Cold? Professor : Yes. Student : No, sir. There isn’t. (The Lecture Theatre became very quiet with this turn of events ) Student : Sir, you can have Lots of Heat, even More Heat, Superheat, Mega Heat, White Heat, a Little Heat or No Heat. But we don’t have anything called Cold. We can hit 458 Degrees below Zero which is No Heat, but we can’t go any further after that. There is no such thing as Cold. Cold is only a Word we use to describe the Absence of Heat. We cannot Measure Cold. Heat is Energy. Cold is Not the Opposite of Heat, sir, just the Absence of it. (There was Pin-Drop Silence in the Lecture Theatre ) Student : What about Darkness, Professor? Is there such a thing as Darkness? Professor : Yes. What is Night if there isn’t Darkness? Student : You’re wrong again, sir. Darkness is the Absence of Something you can have Low Light, Normal Light, Bright Light, Flashing Light . . .But if you have No Light constantly, you have nothing and it’s called Darkness, isn’t it? In reality, Darkness isn’t. If it is, were you would be able to make Darkness Darker, wouldn’t you? Professor : So what is the point you are making, Young Man ? Student : Sir, my point is your Philosophical Premise is flawed. Professor : Flawed ? Can you explain how? Student : Sir, you are working on the Premise of Duality. You argue there is Life and then there is Death, a Good GOD and a Bad GOD. You are viewing the Concept of GOD as something finite, something we can measure. Sir, Science can’t even explain a Thought. It uses Electricity and Magnetism, but has never seen, much less fully understood either one. To view Death as the Opposite of Life is to be ignorant of the fact that Death cannot exist as a Substantive Thing. Death is Not the Opposite of Life: just the Absence of it. Now tell me, Professor, do you teach your Students that they evolved from a Monkey? Professor : If you are referring to the Natural Evolutionary Process, yes, of course, I do. Student : Have you ever observed Evolution with your own eyes, sir? (The Professor shook his head with a Smile, beginning to realize where the Argument was going ) Student : Since no one has ever observed the Process of Evolution at work and Cannot even prove that this Process is an On-Going Endeavour, Are you not teaching your Opinion, sir? Are you not a Scientist but a Preacher? (The Class was in Uproar ) Student : Is there anyone in the Class who has ever seen the Professor’s Brain? (The Class broke out into Laughter ) Student : Is there anyone here who has ever heard the Professor’s Brain, Felt it, touched or Smelt it? No one appears to have done so. So, according to the Established Rules of Empirical, Stable, Demonstrable Protocol, Science says that You have No Brain, sir. With all due respect, sir, how do we then Trust your Lectures, sir? (The Room was Silent. The Professor stared at the Student, his face unfathomable) Professor : I guess you’ll have to take them on Faith, son. Student : That is it sir . . . Exactly ! The Link between Man & GOD is FAITH. That is all that Keeps Things Alive and Moving.
