Assalamu alaykum wa rahmatullahi wa barkatuh, Dear brothers and sisters, I don't know how to begin telling this, but the problem is that I'm in something of a fix. A while ago, I had emailed a question to sistani.org. As everyone here knows, they take a lot of time to respond, so I emailed najaf.org as well, since they respond relatively quicker. The question was about a personal issue I'd rather not discuss here in public, so please don't mind that. But now that I have received the replies from both the websites, I see that the fatawa given are contradictory to each other. I initially thought that it must have been a typing error, but when I ran a search, I found that najaf.org has been giving the same reply for at least the past three years (they've been shared by other brothers as well), and that's too long a time for a discrepancy to not be caught and rectified. To double check if it wasn't a mistake, I re-sent the mail to najaf.org, and their reply has been the same i.e. contradictory to the one sent by sistani.org. What should I do in this situation? How do I know if the verdict of his eminence (ha) has changed, and hence the discrepancy and contradiction?

I did a quick search, and it looks like this doesn't have a thread of its own yet. "In A Nutshell - Fact Sheets About Islam and Shi'ism" http://www.al-islam.org/nutshell/ is very good for introductory & summary info, and can be helpful in case people get asked about certain topics (like from Sunni Muslims or non-Muslims).

Assalamalekum brothers and sisters, I have always been asking our shia brothers and sisters in my country regarding an issue which is being educated. I have watched our shia's to attend azadari and matam during only 10 days of Muharram and remaining inactive all over the year. Moreover, they only hear the majlis and mourn these 10 days, and when people from other sects questions us-we remain silent due to being less educated regarding shia doctrines and jurisprudence. I believe through this website we should encourage our shia brothers to provide a minimum knowledge we would help them to answer the basic questions regarding shia cultures. Brothers and sisters would appreciate your contribution if you could provide your ideas and methods to develop such thing. Jazak Allah khair.

Salam everyone, I made a blog with the intention to "answer" the common criticisms of Islam by Islamophobes using evidence, rationality, and references. It has answers to the following questions so far: Does Islam promote violence towards peaceful non-Muslims?Are there verses in the Quran that allow violence towards peaceful non-Muslims?Was Islam spread by the sword? What's the Jizya?Does Islam say all non-Muslims will go to hell? What's the penalty for apostasy in Islam? Is Islam misogynistic?Does Islam promote domestic violence?Does Islam allow pedophilia? I provided evidence for my answers using evidence from Quran and hadiths. If you have any further evidences (hadiths/Quran/statistics/science) that may be helpful in answering such questions, or other common questions that should be addressed, please tell me! Any feedback would be much appreciated! I hope this blog is helpful to anyone defending Islam against common criticisms and accusations. Please feel free to use any content in it.

I'd like sensible answers, only asking from Shiites, no abuses, no disrespect, no fitnah-fasaad by anyone. Im a shia, but there are things i do not have full knowledge on; so i get confused or unsure. And when i am enquired of them, I do not have the perfect relevant answer to clear fellows' misunderstandings. So here they are, I'd be filled with gratitude if anyone could provide detailed, sensible, relevant answers to them. A hadith or some quranic verse to support would be just magnificent in some of them! 1- Why do we add hazrat Ali in the Kalima. La illaha Illalla Muhammad ur Rasoolallah Ali un Wali ullah, wasi ur rasoollallah? 2 - Why do we add Hazrat ali in Azaan. Im just abit confused and unsure on how to give a solid relevant answer to remove misunderstandings of people on thinking we believe in Hazrat ali as god (na'oozubillah) He is just our beloved Imam along with the Prophet of Allah as our helpers along with the other Imams, and we aren't Noseris. So i need a proper solid sensible and relevant answer! Thankyou!

That brother has been blessed with a lot of knowledge and the passion to spread it. We should take advantage of him and learn as much as we can. Maybe we can find a way to come on here for a question and answer Topic??
