  3. As the name suggests, a thread for anime memes. Better to post these on here than on the official meme thread because no one will get them. SC otaku's unite! @sharinganMahdi @Tonks @magma @baradar_jackson @sakura1994 @Martyrdom (hope I didn't miss anyone) lol
  4. I recently started watching Rurouni Kenshin and have been thinking to myself if what I am watching is haram because their are some haram elements such as the music in the background and mild sexual references and so on. I pray five times a day and read Quran and Dua, but I'm not sure if I could better spend my time doing something more productive. I also wanted to ask is what I'm doing a waste of time? The Quran speaks of all the good we should do while we are on this earth is watching something like anime beneficial, negative or neutral. Islamically after you finish your obligations (prayers) listen to some Quran and Dua should you further strive to learn more about Islam or is their leeway to watch tv, anime etc.

  6. Anime master Hayao Miyazaki is coming out of retirement to make one last film 0 New, by James Vincent@jjvincent Nov 14, 2016, 7:41am EST Photo by Frazer Harrison/Getty Images Back in 2013, legendary Japanese animator and director Hayao Miyazaki announced he would be retiring; making no more feature-length films in order to concentrate on smaller projects. Well, it turns out you can’t keep a good Oscar-winning artist down, and Miyazaki says he’s now coming out of retirement to make one last movie. The film is the story of a "tiny, hairy caterpillar" According to reports from Kotaku and the Anime News Network, the news was dropped into a Japanese TV special broadcast over the weekend. Appropriately enough, it was titled Hayao Miyazaki: The Man Who Is Not Done. In it, Miyazaki revealed that he’d been dissatisfied with a recent 12-minute CG short film he’d been working on — Kemushi no Boro or Boro the Caterpillar — and instead wants to turn it into a full-length film. Although the special did not show Miyazaki getting a green light from studio bosses, he is seen starting work on animation for the project. We’ll have to wait for official confirmation, but, well, this is Miyazaki we're talking about — if he wants to make a film, presumably it’s going to get done. Kemushi no Boro was originally being created for the Ghibli Museum, which opened in Tokyo in 2001 and showcases artifacts from Studio Ghibli, which Miyazaki co-founded. The studio’s many films include Castle in the Sky, My Neighbor Totoro, Spirited Away, and Howl's Moving Castle. We don’t know much about Kemushi no Boro, but Miyazaki has apparently been developing the story for some 20 years. During the special, Miyazaki said the film was the "story of a tiny, hairy caterpillar, so tiny that it may be easily squished between your fingers." He noted that he might be 80 years old by the time it's finished (he's 75 now), but with his ideal timetable, the film will be done before the 2020 Olympics in Tokyo. 7. Salam alaikum, so I did some research if Cartoons, anime and videogames are halal and many says It's haram and many says there's nothing wrong with it and why do people think it's haram? Also is anime with superpowers and magic haram? Like Naruto,One piece and Bleach.

  9. (salam) If you were into trading card games as a child, then chances are you've played Yu-G-Oh! When I was in the second grade, Yu-Gi-Oh! was all the rage. All my friends played it, in addition to watching the anime, and I soon joined the trend. However, I never got around to watching the anime. Now, ten years later, I finally decided to watch the show. What I saw unnerved me. The show is filled with Dajjalic symbolism. The creators seemed to have had a fascination with Ancient Egyptian symbolism. The main character walks around with a trinket that has a One-eye engraved in it. Only a blind person would miss it. This trinket transforms Yu GI into a gambling master, with an Egyptian One Eye glowing on his forehead. Apparently, this gambling alter ego is actually the wandering spirit of an "unknown Pharaoh". I don't think this is a coincidence. The cult of the One Eye has started to appear everywhere. I never expected to see it in anime as well. What are your thoughts on it? Salam.
  10. Bimsillah ar-Rahman ar-Rahim As-salamu 'alaykum wa rahmatullahi everyone! This topic is a repeat but the earlier one was closed because of not getting anywhere and the op seems to have been banned by some reason. So I was wondering about two things. 1. Are there any people here who are interested in groupwise japanese learning? 2. Are there any people here who are interested in groupwise forum about anime and manga for muslims with the intention to create muslimmanga successfully in the future? Mods, kindly don't lock as this is not a bad subject.
  11. Hey guys! I was just wondering if Anime shows or pictures that involve [edited] is haram? Im fully aware that [edited] is haram, but [edited] is more like a 'teasing' version, it doesn't involve full nudity.
  12. Sallam Alykum guys, does anyone here like anime? Was hoping to start some sort of anime discussion... hmm watching anything currently? As for myself I started re-watching Dragon Ball Z about a year ago (slowly collecting the DVD box set) and about two weeks ago started rewatching Naruto because I lost track of the story since I stopped watching it years ago lol.
