In the name of God, the most gracious & most merciful-- My best friend has decided to start his own window & door installation business. He has bought the LLC and is working on getting the liability insurance so that he can be a subcontractor & has asked me to be his "right hand man". The two of us will be working together to install windows and doors on new construction and will branch out eventually to perform retrofits on already occupied houses. We are planning on success and will be reinvesting most of our profits into building this business from the ground up. He has been a window and door installer for five years, but the company he is working for is going to close their install dept & that's what got him thinking about starting his own firm. Me? I need a reliable, steady job with people who can tolerate me (we've been "attached at the hip" for almost twenty years. He met his wife because I introduced them & has said "without you, my daughter wouldn't exist"). The pay is not going to be great as we begin, but that is ok for me because I live in my mother's house without any real monthly bills anyway as I learn the glazing trade from him. I have dedicated myself to this for the foreseeable future, so please, keep us in your supplications that we might have success in business and in our mission to help build homes & protect those homes from the elements. None of this would have even been possible had Allah (سُبْحَانَهُ وَ تَعَالَى) not been looking out for me, making a plan and giving me a means to perform dignified, honest work for someone who is pretty much family anyway. I have chosen to use this opportunity to model good Islamic behavior to him, the communities we work in, and the other workers that we encounter during the day to day.
Here are some preventive/precautionary measures: Maintain updated Antivirus software on all systems. Keep the operating system third party applications (MS office, browsers, browser Plugins) up-to-date with the latest patches. Perform regular backups of all critical information to limit the impact of data or system loss and to help expedite the recovery process. Ideally, this data should be kept on a separate device, and backups should be stored offline. Don't open attachments in unsolicited e-mails claiming to be from FedEx or similar organization (Most important), even if they come from people in your contact list, and never click on a URL contained in an unsolicited e-mail, even if the link seems benign. In cases of genuine URLs close out the e-mail and go to the organization's website directly through browser. Individuals or organizations are not encouraged to pay the ransom, as this does not guarantee files will be released. Report such instances of fraud to CERT-In and Law Enforcement agencies. https://www.cnet.com/news/wannacry-ransomware-patched-updated-virus-kill-switch/ http://money.cnn.com/2017/05/13/technology/ransomware-attack-protect-yourself/
(bismillah) Salam, everyone. Heading off to college soon, In sha Allah, and need to get myself a new laptop. But I'm confused as to which one I should purchase. I can't seem to decide between a lenovo yoga and a macbook. I wanted to get a Dell xps 13, but its short battery life made it seem overpriced. I mostly use my laptop for typing, youtube, converting my ebooks(calibre) and, well, torrents. I'd like to hear all of your thoughts on this. If you can, please provide your reasons for the one you recommend and also mention some of its cons. Keep in mind that I need this thing for college so my needs would be that of an average college student's. Thanks! Mithrandir.
The Basic Question Of This Topic Is Dont You Agree? first of all technology is improving and upgrading every day, so every time a newer model comes out with just a tiny new features the company makes billions from us,technology is the main reason that homelessness is increasing around the world, as i have read in the last 20 years in bank branches there used to be 20-30 people working at one branch and today as i visited the branch i only spotted 8 people and its getting less every day as technology is upgrading, over 5000 people who are poor could easily get a job in the last 20 years then today with technology, technology has ruined our childrens brain like iPads and iPods and it is all because of technology. today instead of me opening my book to study i open my ipad and study from it, instead of looking in a dictionary i am looking at the computers dictionary, instead of me walking around without glasses, today i am, all because of technology, although technology have done us many services, it is also ruining our lives in the long run. today instead of me walking to shops to find the product i am looking for i just go on the internet and order it for delivery, instead of me using my brain to count my money i use a calculator, why?, isnt our brains smart enough to calculate the amount of money i have left, if today technology didnt exist i wouldnt have heard of homelessness all over the world, there are many things that we humans can do but the computer cant, we are much smarter than technology and we are created by the beneficial the merciful Allah, who invented computers? so the question is , Do you Or Do You Not Agree That If Technology Wasn't Advanced As Today, Do You Think Poor People Living On The Streets Would Have Jobs Today Instead Of Begging For Money, Do You Think That Technology Has Made Us Lazy, For Example, Instead Of Calculating 9 X 5, I Just Press Those Buttons On The Calculator, Do You Think Technology Is Destroying People Jobs Every Day, Jobs That Pay For Your Family To Support Them And Provide Them With Good Education?
