  1. So recently I have been out with my sunni (hanbali) friend alot and we usually talk about islam a lot as I am part of the shia (jafari) fiqh, and he keeps telling me that if we have a mosque near our house we need to go there everytime we hear the azan and we cannot pray at home unless we have a valid excuse and I searched everywhere for this topic and could not find any answers. Could someone confirm this information?
  2. So basically there is undeniably no known source stating taqleed is wajib (Allah says) and we have made the Quran easy for you. so interpreter why?? Allah wants us to read his books the ahadath and other writings not sit there and just do exactly wwhat an aalim says. Plus you say fiqh but fiqh derives from firqa i.e. sects Islam never promotes sects the true laws of jurisprudence have been laid down in quran and interperted by Hadith ok. AND THEN our Marja say taqleed is wajib this makes no sense ok before you mention this letter from (AL Mahdi (AJTFS) consider how we know it's from him??? SO why our marja say this??? ALSO PLEASE EXPLAIN WHY BEARD IS WAJIB I DON'T GET IT LOOK THE VERSE OF ADORNMANTS OF CHILDREN OF ADAM (عليه السلام) COULD MEAN IMAAN. OR SOMETHING ELSE NOT NECCESRILY A BEARD I HAVE SEEN WALIS (FRIENDS OF ALLAH) WITH NO BEARD AND I KNOW THEY SHAVED I.E. I KNOW A MAN WHO WHEN VISITED BY A BLIND GIRL MADE HER SEE AGAIN WITH ISN OF ALLAH OF COURSE HE AND WHEN YOU PUT WATER ON HIS GRANDFATHERS GRAVE IN DRY WHEATHER IT WOULD RAIN IN LIKE 5 MINUITES PLUS HE WAS AASHIQ I KNOW A WALI WHO MET PANJTAN PAAK )ASWS IN DREAM HE DIDN'T KEEP A BEARD TILL 50 AND NEVER SAID TO ANYONE THAT IT'S WAJIB SO MAKES NO SENSE both of these wali are now with Allah Fatiha please.
  3. I decided to make a separate thread going on the last post in the "earrings for men" topic, because this is something I don't understand. I'm not trying to be offensive, but I don't see the logic in having five different classifications for an act, particularly Mustahabb, Mubah, & Makruh (recommended, neutral, detestable,). Why not just say that these acts are either required, forbidden, or allowed? Can someone point me in the direction of an explanation for this or better yet, explain it to me themselves?
  4. Assalamualaikum, Is it better to do something that could be wajib but may be haram, or to abstain from it because it could be haram but may be wajib? Let me explain (brothers be warned, this is a menstruation question). I am a woman whose menstruation is unpredictable. I never know when it will start. Most of the time, blood is just very brief spotting rather than the start of a period, but obviously sometimes it's actually the start of menstruation. I also can't tell by the color or consistency of the blood which one it is. Whenever this happens, I'm always thrown into an ethical dilemma. Salat is wajib, but it's haram during menstruation. So I panic -- should I pray, or should I not pray? If I pray and I'm on my period, I have done something haram. But if I don't pray and it turns out I'm not on my period, I have done something haram. Normally after around 20 minutes of agonizing over this question, I opt to pray. Usually this is the right decision, but occasionally I am wrong. Rarely, I am confident that yes, I am in fact starting my period, and opt to not pray. I have been wrong, though. I am leaning towards that it is better to pray and be wrong than to not pray and be wrong. Would you agree or disagree?
  5. Salamualaykum Does anyone know how centres and organisations distribute Zakat al Fitr? As in, my Marja says that at least 3.5kg worth should be given per poor person. ALL centres that we have here in the UK follow Maraja who state that 3kg is enough. I have messaged the centre asking them to pay 3.5kg worth on our behalf, but I'm not sure if they will do it. My question is: Does the method in which organisations distribute Zakat al Fitr cover my requirements already? How much do they give each poor person? I have a strong feeling that I'm missing something here. Hope I'm making sense Thanks in advance, any help will be appreciated. Wassalam
  6. I have a simple question. I am away from my home ( in different) state working in company. I am going home for 5 days (which although is 1000kms away). Do I need to keep fast for these 5 days at home or not? (Since I have heard that coming back to home you have to keep fast). Please confirm it and let me know.
  7. Aslaamu-alaikum to all the readers. I have a question that I was asked by a friend recently but got stuck for an answer. His question started with, in the Shia Fiqh, is The act of Hajj (pilgrimage) obligatory (Wajib) on females? To which I replied that Hajj is wajib on every Muslim, from my common sense. HOWEVER, he further asked me to prove if any females in prophets household (more so referring to Lady Khatijah sa, Lady Fatima sa, Lady Zainab sa) performed hajj and asked for prove. I have tried to research but couldn't find any obvious answers or hadees in regards. Has any one got more information to enlighten me about this? Many thanks, Jazakallah
  8. Salaams, I am a follower of Ayatullah Sistani (as). My situation is as follows, I want to attend a protest in the holy month of Ramadan, the venue is 30 miles away and I pray Qasr there. If I leave after Zuhr, and return before Maghrib will my fast be accepted? If it is not accepted, is it Haraam for me to go there? Thanks in advance JazakAllah Khair

  10. (bismillah) (salam) Since it is mandatory upon us in this holy month to get our wajibat done without any shortcomings, i'd like anyone to answer the following questions regarding how wudhu is conducted :- 1. Is gargling/washing your mouth wajib, mustahab or just an unnecessary bid'a? 2. Does your right arm have to be washed twice or only once like your left arm? 3. Should the water for the right arm first be placed in your right hand then passed over to your left hand or is this unnecessary? Answers based on sahih narrations and the fiqhi views of Sistani will be appreciated.
  11. Salam Alaykom! I have heard ,and I am pretty sure it is wrong but I would like to have the correct anwers, that the prayers becomes wajib for girls at the age of 9 and for boys at the age of 16. I understand that the girls get into puberty far earlier than the boys, but not at the age of 16?! So my question here is, when is it wajib for boys and girls to pray and fast? At what age and why? Thank you, and may Allah bless you all!
  12. Salam alaykom! I read somewhere that it is wajib to have a beard, so now I´m trying to grow a beard, not very succesful right now, but I hope some day it´ll grow properly. Because I don´t have a massiv beard growth, my sister complains and tells me that I should shave it and wait til m beard is full. But I´ve heard that as soon as it starts to grow, you are suppose to grow a "beard". How can I convince my sister that I´m suppose to grow a beard, even though I don´t have a fully grown beard? Wassalam!
