Salaam everyone This thread is to put together a list of video game systems that you have owned or used to own. Let me start it off with mine. Game Boy Advance (my first game system and my first handheld, SP version, I lost it) Sony PlayStation 1 (my first ever video game console, my parents threw it away two years after I got my Wii) Nintendo Wii Nintendo DS Lite (my second handheld, broke in 2013 ) Nintendo GameCube Sony PlayStation 2 (had for a short time only, original fat model) Nintendo Wii U Sony PSP (

For those who don't know, it is essentially an emulator which runs games from the playstation 2 online and is completely free in that you do not pay for the games, they are already violable to download online. It feels kinda cheap and scummy to do so as you haven't paid for it. Does it count as piracy and if so does that mean stealing? Is it haram?

Salaam brothers and/or sisters if some of you are reading this. Which generations of video game consoles would you consider to be retro? For me its the second generations, third generation, fourth generation and fifth generation (and probably the sixth gen to a certain extent).

Via radio and then searching the net, there is a book on the study of video games as, I describe it, a positive force. How Games Move Us, by Kathrine Isbister Reviews seen: MIT Press; PBS' "Science Friday" which has a 2.3 minute video. Interesting. Not in the "video games are a subversive force" genre.

Salaam everyone. I am getting this odd feeling that this current age of digital technology may describe a couple of the signs foretold by our holy prophet. I mean one of the signs is that people will cary music. People are carrying iPods and other stuff like that. Next there are video games like Call of Duty which many people are starting to get addicted into. Today's youth are completely brainwashed by these games and it encourages violence. People are starting to be violent due to these games that they play on their PlayStation 3's, Xbox 360, PS4, Xbox One and PC. It is leading to corr

My favorites have to go to the Zelda games, I played nearly every Zelda except for Majora's Mask, Four Swords Adventures,Wind Waker, A Link Between Worlds, and those awful CD-i Zelda games. I love the Legend of Zelda series. I love some Mario games like Super Mario Galaxy 2. I haven't played Super Mario Sunshine. What are your favourite Nintendo games?

I have been playing lot's of video games and they are retro games like from the 8/16 bit generations (NES/Master System, and SNES/Genesis) and some modern ones from the sixth and seventh generation of consoles. I know the NES and the Sega Master System have only a Programmable Sound Generator that outputs only square waves. Is really haraam for me to listen to video game music even if it is 8 or 16 bit even though they are computer generated tones. I know that the Super Nintendo's Sony SPC700 sound chip is PCM Sampled based so the game music uses some sampled instruments. I admit that I am add

I just deleted all of my games and I recommend everyone else to do too, they are a huge waste of time and they are addictive. The games also made me short tempered, only when I played games did I feel lazy and tired and angry or sad. Trust me, there are many hidden harms done and there is no benefit from them. Please Delete your games and don't play them again, even if it means you will have to face boredom then do so because when you are bored and you stop playing games, you will start moving towards more useful things, like getting a job or reading a book etc.

Salaam, brothers and sisters. I have a question I've been thinking long about and here it is. Is it haraam to look at female video game characters. For example in the Mario series, you have to go through levels collecting power ups and go through various castles to rescue a princess named Princess Peach. Some games have you play as female protagonists such as in the Metroid series where you have to play as a female galactic bounty hunter named Samus Aran who is in a Power Suit in where she is concealed in it and she has a visor where you can only see her face, am I allowed to look at her if sh

I understand this topic has been touched upon in many posts but I've posted the following question as I haven't found a definitive answer to the answer I seek. I'll also be sending this question to the office of Ayatollah Sistani but nevertheless I would appreciate your opinions on this matter: Since quite a young age I've very much enjoyed playing video games and have always wanted to join the industry. I found a couple of game development kits recently and am nearing the completion of my first mobile game, which I'm hoping to release after the summer. I was wondering however, whether or not
