I wanted to make the following my signature, until I realized it surpasses the maximum signature length, and the maximum of two website links in the signature. Please note that I only included links to navigable websites, not download pages, unless otherwise stated. If you know of any websites that are missing from my list, please comment them below. Please let me know if there are any mistakes or improvements to be made. Many Thanks. Note: because this post is so long, the font is small in some places to avoid taking up too much space (I'm not trying to spam the forum). <THE FOLLOWING IS WHAT WOULD HAVE BEEN MY SIGNATURE> In my opinion, the best English Qur'an translations are: Ali Quli Qarai, Sheikh Muhammad Sarwar, Mir Ahmed Ali. Salaam alaykum brothers and sisters, Forgive me in advance if I've posted this in the wrong section, but I need help please: I need a copy of Nahj Al-balagha urgently. I have searched online and all I can find are Sunni based bookshops, and the one Shia site I've found, is sold out. If anyone possibly has a spare one, I am more than willing to pay you for it plus postage (I'm in Melbourne, Aus) Other than that particular book, I'm in need of a proper translated Qur'an (in english)... when I mean proper, I mean one that does not have too many typos (unfortunately the one I have just has too many typos and it makes it difficult to understand) I also need some books relating to Shia/Islam in general, such as the lives of our Prophets etc... If anyone knows of a shop, either in Melbourne or Sydney, or an online store, please let me know asap. I will be forever grateful. Thank you in advance. Any help will be appreciated.

Salam I am a Doctor by profession and married I am about to select my speciality of future and I am too confused so I did istakhara from Qur'an after isha prayers after learning how it is performed in imamia jantri so I did like that, I was thinking about gynecology and obstetrics so my istekhara waNJs about whether should I do it or not so this ayah came And tell the believing women to reduce [some] of their vision and guard their private parts and not expose their adornment except that which [necessarily] appears thereof and to wrap [a portion of] their headcovers over their chests and not expose their adornment except to their husbands, their fathers, their husbands' fathers, their sons, their husbands' sons, their brothers, their brothers' sons, their sisters' sons, their women, that which their right hands possess, or those male attendants having no physical desire, or children who are not yet aware of the private aspects of women. And let them not stamp their feet to make known what they conceal of their adornment. And turn to Allah in repentance, all of you, O believers, that you might succeed. People have confused me about this now some saying there is prohibition others saying there is positive sign of success as gynE is female speciality and patients are only females now I am confused any learnt person who know about istekhara please help me jazakAllah

Assalamualaikum brothers and sisters, I was shown a line in the Qur'an in which Allah promised the companions who emigrated with the Prophet heaven. It is from surah tawbah:verse 100. And the first forerunners [in the faith] among the Muhajireen and the Ansar and those who followed them with good conduct - Allah is pleased with them and they are pleased with Him, and He has prepared for them gardens beneath which rivers flow, wherein they will abide forever. That is the great attainment. Please explain this to me so I can answer this. Thank you.

Dear All, I was listening to a lecture where the speaker mentioned Imam Ali (عليه السلام) compiling Qur'an in the order of revelation and giving a very detailed tafseer during the time of him being usurped of his rightful khilafat (time he stayed silent). I wish to know where that tafseer is, as that must be the best being a tafseer from brother and waseeh of Rasool saww. Kindly enlighten. Regards,

Salam everybody, So as you all know the Qur'an is perfect in all its entirety. However do some of you have a favorite Surah or Verse that hits closer to home on a personal level? And why exactly? Just a fun little question I always wanted to ask.

I know there is a difference of opinion about this one. Was Pharaoh's profession of faith in the last moments of his life accepted or rejected? وَجَاوَزۡنَا بِبَنِىۡۤ اِسۡرَآءِيۡلَ الۡبَحۡرَ فَاَتۡبـَعَهُمۡ فِرۡعَوۡنُ وَجُنُوۡدُهٗ بَغۡيًا وَّعَدۡوًا ؕ حَتّٰۤى اِذَاۤ اَدۡرَكَهُ الۡغَرَقُ قَالَ اٰمَنۡتُ اَنَّهٗ لَاۤ اِلٰهَ اِلَّا الَّذِىۡۤ اٰمَنَتۡ بِهٖ بَنُوۡۤا اِسۡرَآءِيۡلَ وَ اَنَا مِنَ الۡمُسۡلِمِيۡنَ "And We took the Children of Israel across the sea, and Pharaoh and his soldiers pursued them in tyranny and enmity until, when drowning overtook him, he said: 'I believe that there is no God except the One in whom the Children of Israel believe, and I am of those who submit themselves to God’" (10:90) So he seems to have repented and believed in Allah (سُبْحَانَهُ وَ تَعَالَى). My opinion is that it that his repentance is accepted because God's mercy is too vast to not accept the repentance of someone who is asking for divine mercy. The Qu'ran says ‘It is He who responds to the man in need when he calls on Him and removes the evil' (27:62) And in other verses in the Qu'ran it says, ‘Let the people of Pharaoh enter’ (Hell) and not: Pharaoh and his people. If the verses had said Pharaoh and his people, it would be clear that Pharaoh was also in Hell, but the verse only states that his people enter there. Thoughts??

Salaam, I've just read Allamah's view on distortion with the Qur'an and displacement of a couple of verses which has left me perplexed as to his definition of 'distortion'. Firstly, he states that the initial compilation was by Zayd ibn Thabit under the rule of Abu Bakr. Allamah believes that the Qur'an has not been distorted based on reason and credibility. The definition that he [or the article] gives of distortion is 'dropping a part of it, or adding something extraneous to it'. Now come to the displacement of verses part. He apparently believed that two verses in the Qur'an were displaced so as to disguise them. - 5:3 ["Today those who disbelieve have despaired of [harming] your religion; so fear them not, but fear Me! Today I perfected your religion for you, and completed My bounty upon you, and approved Islam as your religion..."] - 33:33 ["...People of the House, Allah only willeth to remove all impurity from you, and purify you such [thorough] purification."] How to reconcile between the two views? If verses have been displaced, surely that's 'giving a misleading or false account' of the events, meaning distortion? Secondly, if the falsifiers were going to displace the verses to hide the true meaning and get away with it, why not just exclude them from the mushaf altogether? Article link: https://www.al-Islam.org/shining-sun-memory-allamah-tabatabai-Sayyid-Muhammad-husayn-husayni-tehrani/7-historical-discourses#Qur'an-has-not-been-distorted Fi Amanillah

Assalamu alaykum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuhu! Which are the etiquette to follow with the Holy Qur'an? And,seeking decisions opening the Qur'an is haram? Like thinking about a question in your mind asking Allah to show you the answer(if what you think about is the right choice) and so open the Qur'an to read the first aya that you look at. Or generally open the Qur'an "randomly" is something that we can do? And what the differences of etiquette between the Mushaf(if is this the name) and the Traduction of the meanings of the Holy Qur'an in another language? And the etiquette with the Qur'an in general.

Assalamu alaykum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuhu. Which are the etiquette with the Holy Qur'an? Is halal to keep the Qur'an and open it at a random page,or is something not to do?

Comment: The purpose of the Qur'an is to guide us to the Ahlul Bayt (عليه السلام). Even the verse which we read every day in Surah Hamd - "Guide us to the Straight Path (1:6)", there are many hadith where the Imams (عليه السلام) have explained it as the the path of Muhammad (s) and his Progeny (عليه السلام). (Also published on blog: https://ahlulbaytmission.org/2019/08/17/Qur'an-guides-to-the-Imams/)

Salam, Does anyone know why Allah (سُبْحَانَهُ وَ تَعَالَى) uses the word 'we' to refer to himself? Example: وَلَقَدْ ءَاتَيْنَا مُوسَى الْكِتٰبَ وَقَفَّيْنَا مِنۢ بَعْدِهِۦ بِالرُّسُلِ ۖ وَءَاتَيْنَا عِيسَى ابْنَ مَرْيَمَ الْبَيِّنٰتِ وَأَيَّدْنٰهُ بِرُوحِ الْقُدُسِ ۗ أَفَكُلَّمَا جَآءَكُمْ رَسُولٌۢ بِمَا لَا تَهْوٰىٓ أَنْفُسُكُمُ اسْتَكْبَرْتُمْ فَفَرِيقًا كَذَّبْتُمْ وَفَرِيقًا تَقْتُلُونَ "And We did certainly give Moses the Torah and followed up after him with messengers. And We gave Jesus, the son of Mary, clear proofs and supported him with the Pure Spirit. But is it [not] that every time a messenger came to you, [O Children of Israel], with what your souls did not desire, you were arrogant? And a party [of messengers] you denied and another party you killed." (QS. Al-Baqara 2: Verse 87)

Does Allah ((سُبْحَانَهُ وَ تَعَالَى)) truly have infinite mercy?
Guest posted a topic in General Islamic Discussion
Salam Alaikum. I've got a couple of questions regarding a topic if Allah (سُبْحَانَهُ وَ تَعَالَى) truly have inifinite mercy. 1. Is there any Qur'an quotes or hadiths that tells Allah (سُبْحَانَهُ وَ تَعَالَى) forgives no matter how big/small and how many sins a person has committed. I'm having a kind of hard time seeing Allah (سُبْحَانَهُ وَ تَعَالَى) willing to forgive someone that kills, steals, drinks and so on. Even if this person has decided to stop and begin to repent. 2. Will doing Hajj in Mekkah really result in Allah (سُبْحَانَهُ وَ تَعَالَى) cleansing you from all sins you've done no matter how many and how big they are? Please do enlighten me on this topic, I would appreciate that. Also posting source would also be appreciated WS. -
Salaam, Who taught or revealed the Gospel to Jesus? Since we believe Jibraeel revealed the Qur'an to our Nabi and Jibraeel is the Arcangel of Revelation, who revealed the Gospel to Jesus and is there any evidence? Same question for Ibrahim and Musa... Did Allah speak directly to Abraham and Moses? Did Allah also speak directly to Jesus and Muhammad and is there any evidence? By "evidence" I specifically mean Ayats in Qur'an, Hadith or anything from our Imams stating these things. Thank you!

Salamun Alaykum brothers and sisters, My wife is expecting our second child, and I have put in many hours thinking of names. The ultrasound shows it may be a girl "most likely". My wife is totally unsure of what to name her, infact she has also thought of many names however she just seems like she is overwhelmed at the moment with the pregnancy so I try and help make suggestions and usually we build from whatever she likes. We named our first child (daughter) Kawthar. So far we have shortened the long list down to a few choices given that my wife is in her 8th month. For arguments sake we have settled on girls names for the time being and if it is a boy we have a few suitable names we like. If our child is a girl we like: 1. BILQIS (The Queen of Sheba) mentioned in the Qur'an in Surah An-Naml 2. YAQEEN meaning certainty, lack of doubt, belief, faith. This choice seems more like a boys name but I wanted to hear input I guess of what everyone thinks. I personally think Yaqeen can be a unisex name like safa or noor. *Let me know what you think about this* 3. IZDIHAR meaning blossoming, derives from Zahra. 4. TASNIM meaning fountain or spring in paradise I Surah Al-Mutaffifin Please let me know what you all think. Also, we are open to suggestions. JazakumAllah Khair. H.
