  1. How does everyone on Shiachat view the Monarch of Safavid dynasty Shah Ismail I? Was he good? Was he evil? Some Shia Muslims praise him, some distance themselves from him and most Sunnis tend to dislike him because of his efforts to make Persia the bastion of Shia Islam. I know we've discussed the history of Iran being converted to Shia Islam before but I want to discuss this person alone and what you think his motivations and intentions might've been.
  2. Hello all, I was wondering, why aren't there many Iranians on Shia Chat? The majority of individuals on Shia Chat are desis, and there are only a few Iranians on this site. Theoretically, shouldn't there be more Iranians since Iran is the largest Shia country, and most Iranians are proud to be Shia Muslims.
  3. Anas b. Malik reported that Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) said: The Dajjal would be followed by seventy thousand Jews of Isfahan wearing Persian shawls.
  4. Hi everyone, I have a question for my Iranian brothers and sisters. What is the view of Iran's Islamic revolution by Iranians? By Iranians I mean those living in Iran.
  5. Hi everyone, How is everyone doing? I am MuhammadXII, a Pakistani Sunni, but one who views Shias as Muslim brothers and sisters. I was wondering, why are the youth in Iran abandoning Islam at an alarming rate. Every single Iranian youth I have come across here in Canada is against Islam and anti-Islam. Furthermore, I heard that the youth in Iran is like this as well. I have heard from a trusted source that 70% of Iran's youth are irreligious, and eventually this will lead to the end of Islam in Iran as the youth form the majority of the population of Iran right now. Is this true, are the
  6. Legacy of Islam in early centuries in Iranian culture and society In her book "The New Muslims of Post-Conquest Iran: Tradition, Memory, and Conversion" Sarah Bowen Savant talks about Iran's conversion to Islam in the ninth to eleventh centuries, focusing on the historical consciousness of Iranians at the time. It emphasizes the importance of a shared history for groups and traces the remolding of Iranian history and identity in the light of Islam. Through these interactions, Iranians developed a sense of Islam as an authentically Iranian religion, as they simultaneously shaped the broader h
  7. Brief Biography: Ismail Safavi the First, known more formally as Abu l-Muzaffar bin Haydar as-Safavi, was born in Ardabil in Northwestern Iran on July 17, 1487. As an heir to the leadership of the Safaviyyah Sufi Order established by Shaykh Safi ad-Din Ardabili (1252-1334 CE), Ismail found himself as the official head of the order of his ancestors at the tender age of 7 years old. His family over the course of several years had earned the ire of the Aq-Qoyunlu, a prominent Turkish tribal federation in Anatolia. When Ismail was just barely a year old, his father Haydar Safavi was killed by the
  8. Contrary to what anti- Islamic iranian nationalists say, the old standard of Iran, the Lion and Sun, does actually have an Islamic background. The Lion stands for Ali, the sword it is holding is the zulfiqar, and the sun represents the light of God. Also contrary to what the Islamic republic sais, the emblem is not a symbol of Pahlavi regime , secularism, corruption, or foreign influence. The standard was in use in Iran way before the Pahlavis even came to power.. It was first used as far back as the Safavids and became the flag of the Qajar dynasty. It was also used by the Mughals in India a
