Guest posted a topic in Guest ForumGreetings everyone, I hope you are doing well. Well I need to state that I'm a non-Muslim seeking my path of being a better human and in process of researching all sorts of things (religions, spirituality, occult, etc) I was always attracted to Arabic things, especially taweez (talismans), vefks and similar. What I noticed is that Sufism would fit me as I begun meditating on Allah's names as mantras and they really make my meditations better. I'm also attracted to out-of-body experiences and surfing the Internet I got a feeling that Shia community is far more accepting to personal development (one's path) to Allah and relationship with the Qur'an. Did I conclude wrongly or is this true? I feel absolutely as I said in love with mystical side of Arab/Islamic world that I can't help it but still have a need of having some belief and prayers to God so would you recommend me a Shia/Sufi mixture of self development or? Oh and just to be clear - taweez only and only in case of helping others overcome ill situations both physically, spiritually and morally (and I do believe that the power from them comes from God himself but I don't agree that God is long bearded guy somewhere in the cloud but more as an intelligent (supreme) energy (all attributes with the names of God apply). Any advice and help is appreciated!
Salam aleykum, In honor of this beautiful Eid in which Allah(SWT) completed the religion of Islam I would like to start learning and memorizing the 99 names of Allah(SWT), at first I wanted to do this on my own but then I thought why not do it together with my brothers and sisters here? So I was thinking that each day we will iA memorize 3 of His names and we will do this together, I will iA post 3 of his names with the english translation everyday, along with a video that is 3 minuts and 30 seconds long. You will iA do your best to memorize the 3 names of the day by writing them down on a piece of paper and every day you repeat all the previous names by reading your own writing, reading what I am writing here and listen to the short youtube clip that says all the 99 names and try and follow it. Something like this: And here is the youtube clip: I want as many people as possible to do this, so whoever wants to tag along on this 33 day short ride, please follow the thread. I will iA start posting and we will iA get started in 2 days so that people have time to see this thread and follow it. We will iA start on the 22 of September. Eltemase dua and fi amanillah!
Salaam alaykum Brothers and Sisters. I always wanted to do this but I kept putting it off but now it is something that I really want to achieve, inshAllah. As a revert who doesn't know any Arabic, besides a few basic letters (I'm currently learning ATM :D) it is somewhat difficult to memorise Quran so I thought I would try and slowly memorise the 99 Names of Allah. I think this is something we could all do together and of course it's up to the individual if they want to memorise 3, 5 or 10 names of Allah every day. I plan on memorsing His names from this site: http://everybreatheverysecond.com/ This is also where I learn to memorise Qur'an from: http://www.mounthira.com/ It is an excellent site I want to ask, who has already memorised the 99 Names of Allah? What were the methods and techniques you applied when learning them? I plan to study and memorise a few names very morning after Fajr and then revise what I memorised that night before I go to bed and repeat the process until I have all 99 names memorised. Also, could all Brothers and Sisters who know of any Hadiths about the merits and rewards of those who memorise the names of Allah please post them here as well :) Wassalaam :)
