Salamunalaikum Certainly something really important I am curious about. Their are many hadith about the qualities of a believer. How do you define a true believer from all those sources? I mean their are many qualities and every person has some of them while lacks the other qualities. (Not quoting narrations assuming that we all have a rough idea about this) One very important specific question is that in Salat al Layl we ask mercy and forgiveness for atleast forty believers. So, who are the people that actually fill the criteria of a believer??? @Mahdavist @ali_fatherof

video Shi'a Islam and Contemporary Pakistani Education
Muntazir e Mahdi posted a topic in Urdu / اُردُو
I made a video recently on how the current content of education material plays a role in the oppression of Shi'a Muslims. I posted the video in General Islamic Discussion before, but just now realised that since it is so focused on Pakistani education, I should post it here. JazakAllah- 2 replies

Salaam, Citizenship Amendment Bill (CAB) was passed in Indian Parliament. This bill aims to give citizenship to persecuted minorities - Hindu, Sikh, Parsi, Buddhist and Christians of Pakistan, Afghanistan and Bangladesh. While this is, without a doubt, a noble act but the problem is that it doesn't include Muslims. Home Minister Amit Shah said that since all three are Muslim countries it is not possible that Muslims can be persecuted there. He 'forgot' Ahmadiyas and Hazaras of Pakistan, other Shias of Bangladesh, Afghanistan. Why are Indian Muslims protesting? CAB in itself is not

Salam! After being with my Shia friends, as well as researching both Sunni and Shia doctrines, I've converted into a Shia Muslim ( I was a Sunni before). It's been three weeks as of today, and its been difficult since I live with my Sunni family. The thing is, I haven't told my family yet. They don't depsie Shias, they are just very pro-Sunni. I know that if I do, I will be disowned and I will get kicked out of my house. What should I do? I know I have to tell them soon, and the truth will come out, because it'll create a lot of problems in the future. There were times were I almost got c

Those who deny the hadith of the prophet saww are called hadith rejectors . They consider normally quran sufficient alone to follow for the religion without recognizing the need to follow the sunna ie sayings or actions of the prophet saww. What the other Muslims brothers consider these hadith rejectors? A muslim, hypocrite, kafir, or mis-guided etc? (Whatever is you opinion ,the evidence of it from quran or hadith may be mentioned too for information /discussion, please). Wasalam

So, for a while now I've noticed that ny skin dries up after wudhu and I don't particularly like the feeling and I feel bad for my skin; I avoid using lotion tho cause I've read on some Sunni site that it invalidates your Salah and not your wudhu either. I know it's better to use non alcoholic lotions but it's hard to find and also why shouldn't you use alcohol containing products after wudhu? Is it fine if you wait a little and let the alcohol evaporate (like perfumes for examples)?

Read the Reddit comments to understand what the thread was about, since the post has since been deleted. ....................................................................................... I'm so tired of the utterly nonsensical and VERY COMMON Sunni notion of 'I am happy to seek unity with Shias as long as they don't curse/insult/abuse any Sahaba, and especially NOT Aisha, Abu Bakr, Omar, Uthman. Firstly, any Shia claim regarding the sahabi that happens to go against the Sunni narrative is considered insulting. Secondly, and more importantly, is that the same notion i

Assalamailakium brothers and sisters. I wanted to ask a question regarding a restaurant. There is a restaurant near my area that is owned by Arab Christians, but the meat, according to them, is Zabihah Halal. My marja is Ayatollah Sistani, and I know that according to him, one can eat the food of an Ahle Kitab, but my question is how about if the halal meat is handled by Ahle Kitab. The restaurant in question even has two halal signs, one in Arabic and one in english. Is it haram to eat their or not?

Salaam alaikum I have read hadith or just advice which says a Muslim should wake up with concern for what is happening in the Muslim ummah. I have two questions: 1) What is the best way to do this? 2) How can we help those who are facing oppression? For question 1, in the past I have set up Google alert for key words such as Palestine and Yemen so I directly get emailed articles about what is happening here. For question 2, I often make dua and sometimes donate money. I have thought about attending protests/rallies such as Al Quds too. As a revert, I am reluctant, only

Salam alaykum sisters and brothers and Ramadan Kareem! Yesterday I found out methods of Istikhara and how to perform it by doing tasbeeh (counting beads with a rosary). I performed the same night the same method given out by imam Al Mahdi (A.S) and the first time I got an answer telling me to do it (what is on my mind). I performed again (the same method) after and it instead said to not do it. I then a few minutes after performed another method given out by another imam (A.S) which I forgot whom it was and my answer came out to be to do it. And now a day later i performed istikhara a few

Salaam alaykum I was reading the Qur'an and came across a verse that I didn't quite understand, heres the verse; Allah eliminates what He wills or confirms, and with Him is the Mother of the Book. [13:39] and in the Quranic text is the actual word used for mother, who is this "mother" that it is refering to?

Salam aleikum What are some good YouTube videos explaining the fundamentals of Islam whether conferences/lectures/sketches. Something with a bit more substance than just bullet points. This should be suitable for those new to Islam with little to no familiarity. Thanks.

Salaam Alaikum brothers and sisters! "But that day belongs to the Lord, the LORD Almighty-- a day of vengeance, for vengeance on his foes. The sword will devour till it is satisfied, till it has quenched its thirst with blood. For the Lord, the LORD Almighty, will offer sacrifice in the land of the north by the River Euphrates." Jeremiah 46:10 Thoughts on this verse? Do you guys think it is in reference to Imam Mahdi (as).
