(bismillah) Salam. I've read this verse a number of times and I just can't make sense of it. In Surat an-Nur, Allah azza wajjal says that pure men are for pure women. When I meditated on it, it appeared to me that this was not the case many times in history. Take for example a woman as pure Lady Asiya. She was married to Fir'aun, who was the worst of the worst. Even in our times, many good men and good women have ended up with horrible spouses. Pious women end up in the household of abusive husbands and pious men have ended up with bad women. How is this verse to be understood? Salam. Mithrandir.
