Salamu Alaykum Wa Rahmatullah. I have seen many Muqallid's of Ayatullah al-Udhma Khamenei thinking that the only set of laws he has are in Leader.ir. So for those who do not know yet let me clarify this. Ayatullah al-Udhma Khamenei says to refer to Imam Khomeini's Tahrir ul Wasilah and then, on stuff that he disagrees with Imam Khomeini to refer to his Q&A. KhudaHafiz

In the 1920s, the Iranian city of Qom developed as a prime center of Shia learning to rival Najaf and came to be regarded as the religious capital of Iran. Centuries ago, it had already been prophesied to play a major role in the end times: Imam Musa Kazim (عليه السلام). said: "A man will invite people to Allah from Qom. A crowd will gather around him. Indeed their hearts will be firm like iron pieces such that nothing can terrify or unnerve them. They will not get tired of war and will not get afraid. They will rely on Allah and they will be the real righteous." (Bihar al-Anwar: v.60 p.216 Iranian print) In the whole history of Qom, this prophecy by Imam Musa (عليه السلام). befits none but his descendant Ruhollah Musawi (Imam Khomeini), the 1979 Islamic Revolution, the Iran-Iraq war (1980-1989) and the anti-Zionist forces of the Islamic Revolution. Qom remains the ideological center of the Islamic Revolution. The forces of the "Qom" Movement (the Islamic Revolution) will support Imam Mahdi (عليه السلام). : Afwan Basri narrated from Imam Ja'far Sadiq (عليه السلام). that he said: "The Imam (Muhammad Baqir (عليه السلام).) asked me "do you know why they call the city Qom?", I said "Allah and His Messenger (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم). know better". He said "indeed they call this city Qom because the people of Qom will gather around Imam Mahdi (عليه السلام). and will rise up with him, remain with him and help him"." (ibid.) About the forces vanquishing the Jews in the Holy Land in the end times, Imam Baqir (عليه السلام). said: "They are Mahdi (عليه السلام). and his companions." Imam Sadiq (عليه السلام). said about them: "I swear by Allah they are of Qom, I swear by Allah they are of Qom, I swear by Allah they are of Qom!" (Tafsir Nur al-Thaqalayn: tafsir surah 17 ruku' 1) Today the whole world knows that the greatest threat to the Zionist state of Israel is posed by the forces of Qom i.e. Imam Khomeini's movement.

When Salman Rushdie wrote the Satanic Verses it was indeed a very disingenuous effort on his part to wrongfully depict the Holy Prophet in such a manner which is indeed devoid of any truth whatsoever pertaining to his sublime character, unfortunately when questioned he would remark that Bukhari was used as a reference for his vile act. Now I understand as painful as it may be to lay idle as one man insults, slanders, and seeks to defame a figure which over 1.7 billion individuals revere greatly, however, I as a layman and Shia Muslim see that there served no benefit from the fatwa which called for the death of not only Salman Rushdie, but all those who aided in the configuration, translation, and in anyway shape or form contributed to the completion of the book. I see this as an issue which was downright counter intuitive, for it served to highlight to the world that as Muslims we do not tolerate any form of criticism (although dishonest). I am confident that it would have been a more beneficial and greater approach to the matter in not only the eyes of the public, but Allah (سُبْحَانَهُ وَ تَعَالَى) as well, if instead of issuing a fatwa which would depict us as individuals who are against free speech to instead use that same method of media in producing a book which would show in every way shape or form how the Prophet is nothing like what was depicted in the satanic verses. Sharing the same battlefield as the enemy and in a more civil and equitable means, for if they sought to draw their pens and defame us with falsehood we can indeed draw our pens of truth and vanquish whatever feeble attempts they may have had in their dishonest endeavors. With the publicity that the Islamic Government had at the time and the profound thinkers who have published phenomenal works, could they not had done such a thing and publicized a book which annihilates the foundation which was structured around the Satanic Verses. Now one may say it would have affected the unity behind the Muslim Ummah as it could be a sort of stab at Bukhari, but I am sure the capability of the intellectuals could conjure a message which seeks to convey the pure sense of Islam without attacking the literature of the Sunni brothers. Instead of simply publicizing the book even more and depicting the Muslims as individuals who are intolerant, at a time when tolerance is especially needed for the good image of Islam, considering the book was written outside the jurisdiction of the Islamic state which is a very important point. Blood is not something which I consider to be cheap, and the sanctity of human life within Islam is greatly considered. I don't think that mere translators whose job was simply to translate books many of whom they were ignorant to the context of the book and perhaps saw it as another fictional tale like any other fictitious book which was far from any political sense. To call for their blood to be shed righteously in Japan and elsewhere was inconsiderate to innocent blood. This fatwa did not benefit Islam and the Muslims and I am prepared to read attentively your remarks. @Mahdavist @A_A @habib e najjaar @313 Seeker @AmirioTheMuzzy @Ashvazdanghe @The Green Knight

As I am sure we are familiar with the revolution of 1979 in Iran where Ayatollah Sayed Khomeini implemented the system of Wilayatul Faqih in the newly founded Islamic Republic of Iran. Is there any evidence that would suggest that this system was ever used by the Imams of the Ahlul Bayt? With mass protests in Iran and now into Iraq is this showing that this system has failed?

Salamu Alaykum Wa Rahmatullah. Recently, a profile which I am sure everyone is aware of, that was defending YH and HA presented me with a set of Hadith against revolution before the Qaim: Al-Kafi vol 8, pg 310, Hadeeth number 483: Omar ibn Handhala says, al-Imam al-Sadiq ‘alaihissalam said, “There are five signs before the rise of the Hujja ‘alaihissalam, the heavenly call, Sufyani, the sinking of the earth, the murder of the pure soul and Yamani. I asked, may I be your ransom, If anyone from your House should make an uprise (khuruj: uprise or revolt to topple the government), should we make an uprise along with him? He said, No. If you are a Shi’a, then remember, it is prohibited until you hear the Saiha and that Yamani has appeared, to make an uprise. That is unless the MI6 and CIA had paid Omar ibn Handhala to narrate this hadeeth. Al-Kafi vol 8, pg 264 Hadeeth number: 382 Our master Syed al-Sajjideen ‘alaihissalam said, “By Allah, no one makes an uprise from us before the Rise of the Awaited One, salamullahi ‘alaih, except that he will be like a nestling (baby bird), who flew off his nest before its wings grew, and kids pick him and play with him. Ibid # 383: Says al-Imam al-Sadiq ‘alaihissalam, “O’ Sadir, stay at your home and be a rug of your house (as motionless and passive as a rug of your house). Don’t move and remain absolutely silent so long the earth and the sky are silent (sinking of the earth has not occurred and the heavenly call/saiha has not been heard). When you hear that Sufyani has risen, come to us, even if you have to walk. Al-Kafi vol 5, pg 22 Hadeeth Number 2: Says the Imam ‘alaihissalam, “Make pilgrimage to this House [the Ka’ba]. Does not each one of you like to be [safe] at his house, have his family prosper through his generosity, and wait for OUR RULE. If he should live to see Our Rule, he will be like the ones who were with the Rasool of Allah salla Allahu ‘alaihi wa Aalihi wassalam at the battle of Badr. If he should die, while waiting for Our Rule, he will be like the close companions of the Awaited One ‘alaihissalam who will be with him at his tent”… Al-ibid pg 23, Hadeeth number 3: Bashir al-Dahhan: I said to al-Imam as-Sadiq ‘alaihissalam, I saw you in my dream and I said to you in my dream, Fighting under the banner of someone other than the Infallible Imam, appointed by Allah, is haram like eating rotten dead animal, drinking blood, and pork. And you said in my dream, “It is indeed so”. Al-Imam al-Sadiq alaihissalam replied [in wakefulness], “It is indeed so, it is indeed so”. I can myself comment that some Hadith before Imam al-Sadiq about the Qaim refer to Imam al-Sadiq themselve as Shaykh Hamza Sodagar pointed out. As for the rest of the Hadith's I contacted the office of Grand Ayatullah Nasr Makarem Shirazi (H) on the issue and received the following answer: Answer: We also believe that any uprising in the name of Imam Mahdi before His reappearance is condemned to failure and belongs to the Tyrant. But if an uprising is for the sake of Allah and in order to pave the ground for the reappearance of Imam Mahdi (AS) and to implement the goals of Ahl-ul-Bayt (AS), then it is approved and is consistent with jurisprudential certainties and the rulings of Enjoining good and forbidding wrong. According to the certain documents "Islam without government," is a disfigured Islam which is free of content, and in fact is an Islam without Islam. Again, a group resist opposing the issue of Islamic government. The source of this opposition is, in fact, two things including mental aspect, and the aspect of narrations. The mental aspect is that, they have a bitter memory of the governments and they believe that in the current situation no one is able to form a divine government and implement Islamic justice. But in terms of narrative, they follow some narrations in this field which are not restricted to what you mentioned. The concept of narrations is that "every flag, which is set up as a government before the reappearance of Imam Mahdi (AS), is either a flag of delusions or condemned to failure." Pay attention to the interpretations of these traditions and they are as follows: 1. It means the uprisings which are carried out without the permission of infallible Imams (AS) or religious authorities or the general deputies of the Imams at the time of occultation. 2. It means the uprisings which are carried out to invite oneself and not to invite to the goals of the infallible Imams (peace be upon them), as mentioned in many narrations. The uprisings meant here is restricted to the ones that there was no preparation for such uprisings. So, the Imams (AS) talked in this way to prevent these premature or immature uprisings. Wishing you all the success Ayatollah Makarim Shirazi’s Office / Istifta’at section Allahuma Sali Ala Muhammad Wa Alee Muhammad.

Assalamu alaikum As many are aware, there are many conspiracy theories that the Revolution in Iran was a Western made up conflict because the shah was becoming more nationalist and getting "out of their hands". So they destroyed the regime and made it appear as it was anti-West (just like they are thought to have done with ISIS). I only want Revolution defenders' response to such accusations... I would appreciate if you don't get out of the topic and please reply through rational thinking.

This is a long article by the BBC: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-us-canada-36431160 The thing to remember is that U.S. government disclosures at the time and BBC news were managed with specific policy goals in mind. Today the release of some documents (and very likely not others) is likely to present a partial and policy directed view of history, rather than what appears at first glance as a dispassionate and neutral perspective.

“Tahrirolvasyleh” which Muslims probably don’t want you to know about Islam:A man can have sexual pleasure from a child as young as a baby. However, he should not penetrate vaginally, but sodomising the child is acceptable. If a man does penetrate and damage the child then, he should be responsible for her subsistence all her life. This girl will not count as one of his four permanent wives and the man will not be eligible to marry the girl’s sister… It is better for a girl to marry at such a time when she would begin menstruation at her husband’s house, rather than her father’s home. Any father marrying his daughter so young will have a permanent place in heaven. ["Tahrirolvasyleh", fourth edition, Qom, Iran, 1990]

Salam 'Alaikum Allow me to introduce this page "Sisters In Islam" This page aims to provide the true teaching of Ahlulbayt regarding women issues The speeches of Imam Ali Khamenei, Imam Khomeini regarding women issues The writing of Islamic scholars regarding women issues, the concept of hijab, the importance of modesty etc And inshaallah with all this knowledge and understanding that we may gain from this page, hopefully we can combat all the misconception, superstitious thought, regarding women issues. I have met many who claim to be a Muslim but their level of understanding regarding this issue is very low. As a consequence we tend to suppress/oppress those who are weak without we realize it. And we tend to easily be influenced by the Western perspective on women issues. There are also some pages that presenting the women issue in a very distorted way in the name of Islam. So inshaallah we hope this new page will help to overcome the distorted image of Islam presented by such pages. Therefore my dear brothers and sisters, Kindly help us to promote this page, invite your friends to follow this page, and if any of you have anything beneficial to be shared on this page, please feel free to inform us https://www.facebook.com/pages/Sisters-In-Islam/385767358246015 May Allah bless you all With the prayer of success, FB/Sisters In Islam

(salam) I'm very confused and disturbed about Imam Khomeini. I have a deep respect for him but what I have found out has made me doubt his persona. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/worldnews/middleeast/iran/1321090/Khomeini-fatwa-led-to-killing-of-30000-in-Iran.html Could a man like Imam Khomeini sanction the death of innocents? Could he order to kill his political rivals? Could he fail to tolerate even small political disputes? Could he approve of selfish autocracy? Could he command to kill 30,000 people? Could he ask to kill newborns? Could he do something against human rights? Why are there so many problems of human rights in Iran? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Human_rights_in_the_Islamic_Republic_of_Iran Why Ayatollah Montazeri so much opposed to Imam Khomeini? Why was there so much violence from our side in the Islamic Revolution? Please help me if you can answer these questions.

Hello SC now I want to mention an interesting revelation. now I try to translate it ! from Abdullah bin Mohammed bin Abdullah ibn Dinar From his father, Ahmed Ben Salem, Mohammed bin Yahya bin Dharas, from Muhammad ibn Jaafar, Nasr Ibn Muzahim Ibn Abu Hammad, from Abu Daoud Abdullah bin partner, Abu Jafar, peace be upon him said Abu Bakr, 'Umar and Zubair and Abdul Rahman bin Auf sat near the prophet of Allah (pbuh). the Prophet (pbuh) Went out to them and sat near them and gave his worn shoes to Ali ibn Abi Talib in order to repair them. Then he said: at The right hand of God the Almighty - or the right hand of the throne - there is folk of us on the pulpits of light, and they have faces of light, and their garments are of light, their faces cover the eyes of other observers.Abu Bakr said: Who are they, O Messenger of Allah? And the prophet (pbuh) was speechless.Zubair said: Who are they, O Messenger of Allah?Again the prophet (pbuh) was speechless.Abdul Rahman said: Who are they, O Messenger of Allah?Again the prophet (pbuh) was speechless. Ali, peace be upon him said: Who are they, O Messenger of Allah? The prophet (pbuh) said: They are people who love each other according to the spirit of God (Ruhollah) not according to their races and wealth. Oh Ali, they are followers of you (Shia) and you , Ali, are their Imam. when we look at the revolutionaries of Khomeini and Hezbullah in Lebanon and other truth seekers. if we know them. we can conclude that Ruhullah and this narration is a beautiful metaphor of our beloved Imam Ruhollah Musavi Khomeini and his true followers. Beharulanvar, volume 65, page 140 or so !

After the 1979 Iranian Revolution, Iraq wanted to open a new chapter of friendship with Iran. The Shah's regime was not friendly with Iraq and to Arab interests, and the nationalist regime in Iraq wanted nothing more than peace with Iran to open a new chapter and a new front against the Zionist regime. But later, the Islamists ( pro-Khomeini group) started attacking the Iranian leftists and nationalists and kicked them out. then Ayatullah Khomeini came up with an doctrine, exporting the revolution According to this doctrine, the Islamic revolution needs to be replicated in regions with Shia majority, like Iraq, Bahrain, Lebanon and eastern KSA, so as to bring about a Wilayat al-Faqih system in these countries. So basically the Iranian model should be replicated in these countries which should be ruled by the usooli Shia clergy, and these countries will become satellite states of the I.R.I. This position was completely unacceptable to the then leadership of Iraq, as well as the political leaders of Bahrain, Lebanon and KSA. Since them they set themselves firmly against the I.R.I. Meanwhile the I.R.I was adamant on an Islamic Revolution in Iraq, and supporting certain elements in the Iraqi clergy who support such a course of action.. Iraq is a country where 35 % of the population are not Shi'ite and do not adhere to its tenets nor owe allegiance to any of its clergy. Obviously such a call was seen as an open threat by the Iraqi leadership, and therefore certain ruthless measures were adopted against the pro-revolution Iraqi clergy. This sowed the seeds of modern-day sectarianism in Iraq. the same can be said about Lebanon as well. My contention is why Khomeini gave a call for Islamic Revoltuion in countries which had a high non-Shia population ? Wasn;t it a recipe for sectarian tension ? What was the Ayatollah's logic and reason given in supporting an islamic Revolution in a country like, say Iraq or Lebanon ? He knew that most non-Shia people had absolutely no desire to accept a Wilayat al faqih regime. He also know that the entrenched political regimes in these countries will fight tooth and nail against this. So what was the result ? Iran;s isolation from much of the Arab world, sowing the seeds of the conflict with Arab states which endures till today. Even today slogans are raised about an Islamic revolution in Iraq, about a Shia uprising in Bahrain, about attacking KSA, these only increase the bitterness. So my question is to the supporters of the I.R.I, what is the logic behind a Wilyata al faqih regime in Iraq or Bahrain ?

(bismillah) (salam) I have noticed the huge amount of respect that Shia have to Khomeini. While researching some of the stuff he wrote in his famous books, I found a couple of paragraphs which a normal person with common sense would stop and think... I will not mention them all now.. But this one really caught my attention. As he claims, this story took place in the beginning of creation.. which he witnessed :donno: ?? What is narrated about Gabriel in the beginning of creation when Allah had asked him (Gabriel) several times "Who am I and who are You!?". And every time he answered: " You are you and I am I". Then Allah burns him for being too proud and sends him away from the nearest heavens until the saviour of souls appeared in the world of lights and ghosts. The Mawla of the two universes and the Imam of the Thaqalayn, our Mawla Ali bin abi Talib alaihi salam . Then Ali taught Gabriel to say in the answer: "You are the Great King and I am the humble slave" and when he said it he was saved from the fires of Hell. Al fawa'ed al radawiyah" page 151 It is funny, yet sad to see such a story written in a book of a famous "scholar". I don't know where did he get this story from, knowing for sure it was not mentioned in the Holy Quran and authentic Hadiths. Interestingly how he mentioned that the saviour of souls appeared before even the creation of Adam (as). So how can anybody still have faith and respect for such a leader who makes such claims? And this is not the only one.. there are a lot more. Unfortunately the majority of Shia see the garnished picture of Khomeini. I am not asking any questions here, but asking people who consider this guy a "scholar" to read more about him, his "studies", and most importantly, his history and how did he become the leader of the Revolution. It is not surprising what he also did during the First Gulf War, while he was blessing the soldiers and touching their foreheads and telling them: "today (if you die) you will have dinner with Imam Ali and Hussien" (salam)
