  1. My question is pretty strait forward. The Muslims ruled India for hundreds of years. Why did they fail to convert most of the Hindus? As of 2016, about 80% of India is Hindu, only 13-14% is Muslim, and less than 3% are Christian. Islamic rulers were often tolerant, but at times very aggressive in their attempt to convert India. This is well documented. Why did Hinduism win out?
  2. SRI GURUBHYO NAMAHA HARIHI OM MAY THE GOOD THOUGHTS FLOW INTO MIND FROM ALL THE DIRECTIONS! FIRSTLY I WOULD LIKE TO THANK THE BROTHERS AND SISTERS WHO ARE MAINTAINING SUCH A WONDERFUL; FORUM AND GIVING OPPORTUNITY FOR NON MUSLIMS like me TO GAIN THE WEALTH OF KNOWLEDGE WHICH I BELIEVE IS THE ONLY WAY FOR SALVATION. I VE BEEN GOING THROUGH SOME OF THE POSTS ABOUT ADVAITA PHILOSOPHY AND FOUND THAT MANY OF THE DISCUSSIONS DIDNT CROSS THE LEVEL OF INTRODUCTION TO ADVAITA PHILOSOPHY. ADVAITA UNLIKE OTHER PHILOSOPHICAL SCHOOLS OF HINDUISM, IT IS NOT BASED ON A SINGLE PERCEPTION BUT IT DIFFERS INDIVIDUALLY.SO THE ADVAITA YOU MAY EXPERIENCE MAY NOT BE THE SAME I EXPERIENCE. HOWEVER I AM NOT GOING TO START INTRODUCING ADVAITA PHILOSOPHY DIRECTLY BECAUSE OF THE FOLLOWING REASONS: 1.MANY HINDUS WHO PROPAGATE ADVAITA PHILOSOPHY ARE ACTUALLY NOT LIBERATED,EVEN I AM NOT LIBERATED BECAUSE ACCORDING TO A VEDIC SAYING "THE PERSON WHO IS REALLY LIBERATED WILL REALIZE THAT EVERYONE ARE ACTUALLY LIBERATED!" 2.MOST OF THE MATERIAL AVAILABLE NOW ON THE NET REGARDING THE PHILOSOPHY OF ADVAITA IS THE MATERIAL OF NEO VEDANTA(A REVIVALIST SCHOOL).NEO VEDANTA SCHOOL BECAME POPULAR WITH SWAMI VIVEKANANDA AND HIS GURU RAMAKRISHNA.I"LL TRY TO EXPLAIN NEO VEDANTA WHILE EXPLAINING THE TRADITION LINEAGE(GURU PARAMPARA) OF VEDAS AND VEDANTA 3.TRUE VEDIC APPROACH TO THIS PHILOSOPHY BEGINS WITH THE PRACTICE OF KARMA KANDA OF VEDIC SCHOOL OF THOUGHT WHICH INVOLVES RITUALS,WORSHIPS,DEVOTION(BHAKTHI),TANTRA AND YOGA ETC. WHICH ARE TOPICS OF VAST DEBATES AND DISCUSSIONS INDIVIDUALLY. HENCE MANY TRADITIONAL INSTITUTIONS PROPAGATING THE SCHOOL WILL NOT TEACH THIS PHILOSOPHY DIRECTLY TO EACH AND EVERYONE. 4.MANY PERCEPTIONS OF ADVAITA SHOULD BE DISCUSSED BASED ON PRAMANA(PROOF) WHICH AGAIN HAS DIFFERENT PRAMANAS LIKE PRATYAKSHA,ANUMANA,UPAMANA,SABDA,ARDHAPATTI,ANUPALABDI. 5.THOUGH SCRIPTURE(VEDAS) ARE THE FINAL AND ULTIMATE,TRADITIONALLY IT IS ACCEPTED THAT AFTER REACHING THE FINAL STAGE OF PRACTICE OF PHILOSOPHY THE STUDENT OR SEEKER WILL REALIZE THAT IT IS SOMETHING ABOVE SCRIPTURE . 6.TO UNDERSTAND ADVAITA ONE ACTUALLY HAS TO BE A FOLLOWER OF A VALID PARAMPARA.THAT A STUDENT OF ADVAITA HAS TO BE A STUDENT OF VEDA FIRST. THE ABOVE POINTS HAVE SCRIPTURAL PROOFS WHICH I WILL STATE IT IN MY COMING ARTICLES. I WOULD LOVE TO ANSWER ANY CONSTRUCTIVE CRITICISM OR DOUBTS REGARDING THE ABOVE STATED POINTS.QUESTION AND ANSWER APPROACH WILL BE MORE COMFORTABLE BECAUSE IT WILL HELP US TO DISCUSS ONLY THE MATTERS WHICH ARE NECESSARY. (EX:WHY SHOULD WE UNDERSTAND VEDIC RITUALS ETC...WHAT IS BHAKTHI,WHO EXPOUNDED THIS PHILOSOPHY,ETC) THIS IS ACTUALLY MY FIRST POST AND FORGIVE ME FOR MY IGNORANCE IF I DIDN'T FOLLOW ANY OF THE CONDUCT PRESCRIBED ON THE FORM.THE REASON FOR WRITING THIS ARTICLE IN THIS FORUM IS BECAUSE I FOUND MANY MUSLIM BROTHERS IN THIRST OF KNOWLEDGE ARE REALLY WELCOMING THE POSTS OF OTHER RELIGION WHICH HELPS IN BUILDING STRONG RELATIONS AND SERVES HUMANITY IN TIMES OF CHAOS IN THIS WORLD. I PRAY TO THE LORD THAT HE'LL FORGIVE ME FOR MY SINS AND THAT HE'LL GUIDE ME TO THE LIGHT....
  3. (bismillah) (salam) I am aware that it is a general belief that Hindus are kafir. But are they? Because in their religion there is also a concept of monotheism. they(a larger part of them) believe that there is only one creator of the world ishwara/brahma/vishnu/parmeshwara but sometimes god manifests himself in physical forms on earth and they are called avatars or bhagwans .This is shirk, but does shirk makes someone kafir? if yes then since Christians believe in trinity , are they kafir too? what actually makes someone kafir? what is the defination of kafir? Thanks in advance for those who are willing to help.
  4. According to latest stats: India-49% of men are actively seeking or indulging in extra-marital affairs. Women don't lag much behind. Pakistan-7% of men are actively seeking or indulging in extra-marital affairs (they are the next highest offender!) Egypt-6% of men are actively seeking or indulging in extra-marital affairs Saudi Arabia-5% of men are actively seeking or indulging in extra-marital affairs In India too, Hindu couples are the highest on the infidelity index, Indian Muslims being on the lowest in India, apparently that's one bad thing they have not assimilated themselves yet into, but that's a different discussion. Thanks to Islam which puts even heavier legal penalties on illicit affairs between married couple, while the legal penalties of non-married illicit affairs being already very strong and in most cases deterring.
