  1. I want to adopt a Cat, but some people and my family don't agree with it and don't alow me. They say that Cat is a Haram animal and it will have negative effects in our home. Is this thought correct? I can take care of this animal and complete its every need as I have affection for these creatures and love them.
  2. I recently signed up on a site, where you get paid for doing other people's homework. I've rejected every assignment proposal that has asked for acknowledgement that the student has done it himself. I refrain from attempting tests or quizzes for people as well. Doing homework for people can be considered as help init? Just like your household or your tutor help you (that's my opinion). If anyone knows a proper mushtahid's verdict on the topic, feel free to answer, thank you!
  3. salam alykum wrwb. according to the above verse, we are told not to spy on each other. Now, in these advanced times where it is much easier to spy on the ordinary & make money out of it. is that money made out of spying on the life of someone halal? it is wrong in my head & oppressive, but not so in else's head. what about yours? ws
  4. Hi all, I've many questions which I'd like to ask in this thread, please bear with me and I'd kindly ask you, please please please, try not to judge me as much. Before I get started, I'd like to let you know I'm a 14 year old boy who has fallen DEEP into committing the sin of masturbation. I'm not trying to return back to Allah (سُبْحَانَهُ وَ تَعَالَى) and I'd like some advice and I had some questions. Firstly, I'd like to know how I can quit of doing this sin. It's become very extreme, even to the point where I'm doing it even when I'm fasting in the holy month of ramadan. I've tri
  5. Hello, I used to masturbate before - I held in the semen and then did a wudhu and proceeded to read salah, for the times which ejaculation happened I did a ghusl - I'm unsure if I should read all my namaz as qadha again as I'm unsure if masturbation with no ejaculation invalidates salah that has been done with no ghusl before it - please guide!

  7. I am thinking about pursuing a degree in law as it is my first year in college and have seen it is a career fit for me, however when I bring the topic up I am oftentimes bombarded with allegations that it is haram and is not permissible to undertake such a path. @Mahdavist @Hameedeh @Gaius I. 9. Sometimes I feel really down and I thought that I could maybe try something to make feel better. I've heard this is popular in Yemen and so I wondered if it is halal to have it.
  10. Salam, I am a very old visitor ShiaChat. This is my very first post here with this ID because of the type of Topic and because of needing help. I have been living overseas for a decade and now moved to Pakistan to make my religion stronger. One thing that is bothering me is the companionship of the opposite sex. I’d like to tell you I am a new convert to Shia from Sunni and my family disowned me and blocked me from family acitivities on that ground, but mashallah say by the grace of Allah, I have a high paying job and so it was easy to move on but feel lonely, left out and often wanders a

  13. Assalamu alaykum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatu! I habe the fear to do something really haram... I have was was and sometimes when I'm about to do something definitely not haram came in to my mind thoughts like: This things means this(and this is something haram).Like example: I put my jacket in the guardarobe and I think "this means that to someone amis going to happen something" and I'm devastated by this thoughs! 14. Salam respected brothers and sisters, is it permissible for one to dance with their husband or wife. Dances such as the salsa or what may else pertain if there is no haram music or non mahram occupying the area.
  15. Salam respected brothers and sisters, as a Shia Muslim who currently resides in the west there are certain restaurants that provide food that accommodates the regulations in permissibility to consumption. Such restaurants are of other cultures such as Hispanic, Asian, and the list goes on; is it permissible to eat at such restaurants if one consumes only food which is permissible to eat of course; taking into consideration that such restaurants sell alcoholic beverages to those whom desire to consume such intoxicants in bottled or canned form.
  16. Asalamualaykum, I have always (or at least in the past 5 years), refrained from music like rap, sensual songs, and just things with too much beat in them. For the past month or so, I have put haram music aside completely but ever since, I've been in this kind of paranoia and anxiety of what is haram and what is halal. I've read my marja's ruling on music over and over again this past month but I just don't seem to get it completely. My marja' is Seyed Sistani and if someone (familiar with fatwas and/or following Ayatullah Sistani) would please help clarify some questions for me I will rea
  17. Salam, I know many Muslim landlord (in the West). Their apartments are typically non-smoking and no pets, and they will ask you about your employment when you contact them (like every other non-Muslim lanlord). According to the Fair Housing Acts this is seemingly the maximum you can get away with before it falls under discrimination. That being said, people clearly violate these rules all the time (e.g. Chinese buildings). What confuses me is the following... Presumably these Muslim landlord are renting out their apartments to boyfriend/girlfriend couples... or else they wouldn't be
  18. O alimento permitido dos 'ahlil kitab' é arroz feijão verduras e etc. Nao carne tipo frango boi vaca ovelha e etc.
  19. Assalamailakium brothers and sisters. I wanted to ask a question regarding a restaurant. There is a restaurant near my area that is owned by Arab Christians, but the meat, according to them, is Zabihah Halal. My marja is Ayatollah Sistani, and I know that according to him, one can eat the food of an Ahle Kitab, but my question is how about if the halal meat is handled by Ahle Kitab. The restaurant in question even has two halal signs, one in Arabic and one in english. Is it haram to eat their or not?
  20. Is watching romantic movies or shows haram? What if one doesn't look at "those" scenes? If there's sources like from Sayid Sistani, that would be awesome.

  22. I have been in a haram relationship for five years now, all behind my families back. The guy is non Muslim but we have been through everything together. He’s done a lot for me and same with me for him. There’s no doubt about my love for him and his love for me people have constantly commented on how much passion we have for each other (friends), I tried splitting up with him a couple of times to get back on track but we always find a way back to each other whether it’s months later or whatever. I feel so much peace with him that I can’t get anywhere else. I have had a very tough family life, m

  25. Salam 3alaikom all, I'm someone, totally destroyed and just want to share my story with you and also I have questions, maybe someone more smart than me can answer. I'm a Shia woman, with mixed background, live in UK. I met with someone sunni man, looks like very respected and serious person. I had terrible issues before and also I was like broken when my friends (I thought they were my friends) introduced me someone. We started to talk, meet, he moved like near to me to give chance to meet every day. After one month we went to masjid and made an Islamic marriage. As man and wife w
