  1. Im planning on eating in a place where they sell crabs and lobsters as well, so I was just wondering if they were najis in case a worker touches it
  2. Assalamailakium brothers and sisters. I wanted to ask a question regarding a restaurant. There is a restaurant near my area that is owned by Arab Christians, but the meat, according to them, is Zabihah Halal. My marja is Ayatollah Sistani, and I know that according to him, one can eat the food of an Ahle Kitab, but my question is how about if the halal meat is handled by Ahle Kitab. The restaurant in question even has two halal signs, one in Arabic and one in english. Is it haram to eat their or not?
  3. Salam, dear brothers and sisters in Islam I have recently contracted a temporary marriage with a girl from Ahlul-Kitab (Catholic) she is a virgin girl and I was seeking to inquire if the marriage contract that I have done with her is valid, I hope to not God forbid have this be an invalid contract in which would lead me to disobeying Allah (سُبْحَانَهُ وَ تَعَالَى) the permission to "date" was granted ( I was told that would be considered عرف) I explained to the girl that there will be a fixed term and I chose one year and also for the dowry I said it was like a gift and instead of providing a specified gift I just gave $20 I am not sure if she remembers that the term was for one year but I did state it clearly to her through text and as for the oath I also explained what it meant in English on text and then in person I told her to repeat after me the words in Arabic in which she complied the words were a bit broken, but understandable. The father of the girl has passed therefore the permission to “date” was given by the mother the girl knows that this is a form of marriage contract in which I stated briefly would protect her rights and honor her If this is not a valid Mutah contract how may I make it as such (the more thorough and concise answer the better) And if this is a valid Mutah contract thank you for clearing my conscience may Allah (سُبْحَانَهُ وَ تَعَالَى) grant you all the intercession of the Prophets holy progeny I really love this girl and I hope to one day marry her if she is guided to the path of the Ahlul Bayt ((عليه السلام)) she has shown great willingness to debate and discuss religion and has told me if she is shown the truth she would adhere to it therefore I am trying fervently by the grace of Allah (سُبْحَانَهُ وَ تَعَالَى) to provide the evidences needed in substantiating Shia Islam and in rebuking any deviated beliefs posed by the Catholics and their traditions respectively Side note: the mother allows us to date and perhaps is knowledgeable over certain intimate acts that may occur in which are known to be evident between “dating teenagers” but by no means would accept or agree to any act of copulation and or most likely oral gratification and the use of the other partners hands to aid the other in reaching ecstatic relief would the use of such means of intimate acts between one another; other then the means of osculation be prohibited for the acts listed above such as oral gratification and the use of the other partners hands, aid in demolishing any deviated acts of self-gratification as the role of a Mutah contract does so evidently and respectfully through the protection of the rights of the female counterpart If this marriage is a valid one would such intimate acts be prohibited and would copulation be allowed or not We are both virgins I am 19 and she is 18 if such acts are prohibited how may I seek to make them permissible and in what way is it deemed fit to do so May Allah (سُبْحَانَهُ وَ تَعَالَى) bless you all and grant you all the intercession of the Ahlul Bayt thank you for reading and aiding this lost soul in maintaining his faith clinging on to the rope of Allah through the aid of such pious and forbearing lovers of the truth
  4. I want to ask, like I know gold is haram for men but I heard men can we only for a reason in an urgent situation of money during any journey or what? Like is it allow to wear little amount like everytime on finger, like is it allowed? Or not? Please briefly explain it. (ulama only)
  5. Is watching romantic movies or shows haram? What if one doesn't look at "those" scenes? If there's sources like from Sayid Sistani, that would be awesome.
  6. Al-Salam Alaykum, My name is Ali and I live in Australia and I have four questions regarding the fatwa on eating meat (cow/chicken/lamb/goat) provided in the Australian kitchens, according to Ayatollah Alozma Jannaati: 1. Is it permissible to eat meats (cow/chicken/lamb/goat) from Christian restaurants despite the presence of other numerous halal restaurants close-by? Or is it only strictly permissible to eat when no halal food is present? 2. Despite the fact that most people that live in Australia are Christians, not all restaurants owned by Australians are Christians. So, when wanting to eat from a large fast-food chain in Australia (such as McDonald's) can I assume that the meats are from Christian sources (thereby making it permissible for me to eat) even though I don't know where they are actually from as they may be Atheist, Hindu or Buddhist? I think that going up to the counter to ask whether or not their meat source is from a Christian is weird (and most likely would not be given an answer). 3. If a large fast-food chain such as McDonald's is serving me a chicken burger (irrespective of being Islamically-slaughtered or not) they may cook pig products (e.g. bacon) on the same grill. Does that make the chicken burger harram? 4. Do I have to say Bismillah before consuming the 'nonislamically-slaughtered' meal? Thank you very much for giving me from your time. Jazakom Allah (سُبْحَانَهُ وَ تَعَالَى) khair al Jazaa Al-Salam Alaukum

  11. My mom says its haram to have fish thats killed in the water, is that true, since i want to go bow fishing with my friends and I would be killing the fish in the water with my bow and arrow. Thank you.
  12. Salam Everyone, I am a 27 year old and work in a private organization which pays me enough for me to bear the necessary expenses of life. I am about to get married and plan to go for Umrah immediately after it. The following is really troubling me these days. I work as a freelancer, which means that I write Essays, articles, research paper , dissertations for people/ students across the globe. I also sometimes do their Mathematics and Physics homework. I get work from a middle party and paid according to the amount of work i do. I do not obligate any copyrights on my work. They give me the topic, and I work from them. They have my permission to use it as they want. Also sometimes the students ask me to help them with their tests. Either I solve online tests for them or they send me pictures of questions and I send the solutions to them via internet. Since my clients forward the work I do for them by their name (which my clients do, I only solve the questions asked from me), Is the work and income generated from it halal for me? If it is not halal, then what should i do with the decent amount of money that i have saved from it over past 1 year, and the one that I have already spent on myself? I really put a lot of time and effort on this thing to earn what i have. I wanted to bear the expenses of my marriage and umrah from this money.
  13. Salam all, I was looking for some guidance on something. Alhamdulilah I have just came back from Ziyarat and after speaking with a Alim there, he made me make a promise and that was to drop my most dangerous sin. Ashamed to admit, but as a young male, my worst sin is istimna(masturbation). The Alim advises that I get married to stay away from sin and take care of human needs in halal fashion however since I will not be getting married for at least another 2-3 years due to school and parents not willing til completion, he recommended mutah with Ahle kitab. my issue is that I feel guilty doing Nikkah mutah solely for the sake of justifying pleasure, and just because it is better than istimna. Also, to pay someone willing here as a dowry, I feel like is very similar to prostitution and have a hard time accepting that. I am only asking because I want to take care of my human desires in a halal fashion and it’s getting to the point my mind is consumed by these dirty thoughts. I usually controlled this by astagfirullah but I have stopped that now. please looking for some help or advice. Jazak

    Halal and Non-Halal Food

Assalam u Alaikum, I am Akram from Canada. It's been a month since I started my research on halal and non-halal food. I am writing an article on this topic and for which I am gathering Hadith from both Shia and Sunni Muslims. It would be a great help if you provide me with Quranic Evidence, Hadith, and Rulings from Ayatollah(s). JazakAllah Kher,

Salam Alaykum i know it's obviously not halal to eat meat and stuff out but what about eating other stuff from restaurants that arent strictly halal? For example if I have a group of friends or colleagues invite me to go with them to somewhere like Olive Garden...would it be okay for me to eat the veg. menu?Or non meat meals? What about something like a coffee place? Pizzerias? (I already avoid those)...I'm really confused... do you guys eat out or avoid non Muslim places altogether?

    Nose job haram or halal?

Okay, guys. Please hear me out first. Okay so, it all begun when i went to high school. I was in class when this boy who sat beside me said : ''Wow you have the hughest nose i've ever seen.'' I ignored it, but when i went home i looked at my nose realising he was right. I never really paid attention to it ... because i was young and didn't really care about how i looked? But well yeah, im by the way a girl. So my nose is really big, i've basically my father's nose and sometimes i wished i had my mother's. It is hooked, it doesnt look good from the profile nor the front... and it's kind of wide too. Everytime i talk it takes a weird shape, if i laugh the tip goes down and i basically look like a witch. My brothers do have these noses too, but their's doesnt go down or anything and it itsn't that bad and also they're boys so it doesnt really look weird on them. Ofcourse my parents Always say that my nose is beautiful, they are your parents after all. But i know my nose is not beautiful and im so self conscious about it. I've got a couple of comments in my life about it and the last one was very recent. I was in school and there were like this 'popular girls' who are 2 years younger. Anyway i was just focusing on the computer and they joked about me looking like a bird... i heard them but simply ignored it... like always Im very scared to meet new people, also im going to college in like two months and im scared .... When I walk i Always pretend like there is something in my eye so i can wipe it off with my hand so it will cover my nose and no one will see my profile.. I mentioned a nose job a couple times to my mother and she says it's not allowed because it's god's creation and that i should be thankful that i have a nose and that im healthy. She's right i guess?? I mean i am healthy and at least i got a nose... and doing a nose job means you're not happy with that what Allah gave you. but it still hurts me when i see every girl with this cute nose or people who got surgery and they look great after it.. so i searched on internet and people actually say it's not haram ... but i dont know im 17 and im not planning a nose job anytime soon ... but maybe for the future?? My nose is really an obstacle for me, i dont like going outside because people will see it, and i really cant make new friends or something.. also i have a job interview in two days and im scared that they will not want me because of my big ugly nose. does someone know if a nose job is haram or halal?? Can someone please answer thanks for hearing me out it kind of felt good to tell someone as i cannot talk to my friends abt it bc i dont want anymore attention on my nose and well i cant really talk to my parents about it. By the way, it's basically like my father's side of the family that has this kind of noses and my mother's side doesnt they all have cute little noses.. and i think it looks bigger because i also wear hijab so it looks more prominent.. and it is already big.. (ps: sorry for my bad english, it's not my first language)
  24. What are the rules of social media? Are you allowed to have social media accounts? If not, is there a reason as to why you cannot?
  25. (Bismillah) Salam I don't wanna sound like an atheist but I'm trying to be as critical as I can cuz these questions are holding me back from being a Shia Muslim and I would be so happy if u could answer these questions so that people don't always win me in argues with these questions thank u. 1. Is it true that if u revert or convert away from Islam u will be killed: Quran Quran (4:89) - "They wish that you should reject faith as they reject faith, and then you would be equal; therefore take not to yourselves friends of them, until they emigrate in the way of God; then, if they turn their backs, take them, and slay them wherever you find them; take not to yourselves any one of them as friend or helper." Verse 4:65 says that those who have faith are in "full submission" to Muhammad's teachings. This verse explains what should happen to Muslims who do not have faith. Quran (9:11-12) - "But if they repent and establish worship and pay the poor-due, then are they your brethren in religion. We detail Our revelations for a people who have knowledge. And if they break their pledges after their treaty (hath been made with you) and assail your religion, then fight the heads of disbelief - Lo! they have no binding oaths - in order that they may desist." Other verses that seem to support the many Hadith that establish the death sentence for apostates are Quran verses 2:217, 9:73-74, 88:21, 5:54, 9:66. Hadith and Sira The most reliable Hadith collection contain numerous accounts of Muhammad and his companions putting people to death for leaving Islam. According to verse4:80 of the Quran: "Those who obey the Messenger obey Allah." Sahih Bukhari (52:260) - "...The Prophet said, 'If somebody (a Muslim) discards his religion, kill him.' " Sahih Bukhari (83:37) - "Allah's Apostle never killed anyone except in one of the following three situations: (1) A person who killed somebody unjustly, was killed (in Qisas,) (2) a married person who committed illegal sexual intercourse and (3) a man who fought against Allah and His Apostle and deserted Islam and became an apostate." Sahih Bukhari (84:57) - [In the words of] "Allah's Apostle, 'Whoever changed his Islamic religion, then kill him.'" Sahih Bukhari (89:271) - A man who embraces Islam, then reverts to Judaism is to be killed according to "the verdict of Allah and his apostle." Sahih Bukhari (84:58) - "There was a fettered man beside Abu Muisa. Mu'adh asked, 'Who is this (man)?' Abu Muisa said, 'He was a Jew and became a Muslim and then reverted back to Judaism.' Then Abu Muisa requested Mu'adh to sit down but Mu'adh said, 'I will not sit down till he has been killed. This is the judgment of Allah and His Apostle (for such cases) and repeated it thrice.' Then Abu Musa ordered that the man be killed, and he was killed. Abu Musa added, 'Then we discussed the night prayers'" 2. Why is Shiism the right sect when we hit our selfs for Imam Hussein wen hurting yourself is haram and hitting yourself on the chest makes health issues worse. And did the imams or prophet tell us to hit each other or slice each other up and tawasul is haram right u can only pray to Allah or else it's haram in the beginning of the Quran it says worship Allah alone only him and there is no verse supporting to say ya ali or ya Hussein why can't we say ya Allah or ya Muhammad rasolallah why do we put more focus on the imams and not as much to the prophet. If you answer to these questions and it make sense and with sources I will convert to Shia Islam 3. Is the Darwin theory true? Or Adam and Eve can any of it be true and how. 4. It's haram to take over other countries and take their land like tha caliphs did right and if the prophet allowed it is their any proof and why was it to have power is this the pure Islam? 5. We shouldn't be visiting Imams shrines no I mean like puttinggg gold around it it's haram right and also people talk with the imams why isn't this haram and some imams say that the Quran is not the right version. And they focus so much on Imam Hussein and hit them selves why is it ok if u don't do that? Extra questions why are the Middle East contries back is it cuz of o freedom like the sharia law why do people that don't Belive in Islam have to follow our rules and don't u think thoose rules were good for 1400 years ago, why do we have marjas? thank u so much brothers and sisters Allah hafiz
