Iranian calligrapher donates rare Quran to Astan of Hazrat Abbas / Pics (AhlulBayt News Agency) - Iranian artist and calligrapher Seyed Ali Asghar Mousavian donated a rare copy of the Quran that he has calligraphed to the Astan (custodianship) of Hazrat Abbas (AS) holy shrine in Karbala, Iraq. The copy includes calligraphy of the Quran in three scripts of Thulth, Naskh and Reyhan. According to al-Kafeel website, he said a special natural ink has been used for writing the Quran copy, which weighs 3 kilograms. Mousavian added that he spent ten hours a day for two years to complete the artwork. Earlier this year, on the occasion of Imam Ali (AS) birthday, the Iranian artist donated another Quran copy written in gold to the Astan of Imam Ali (AS) in Najaf. It is now on display at the museum of the Astan. http://en.abna24.com/news/iran/iranian-calligrapher-donates-rare-quran-to-astan-of-hazrat-abbas_845213.html

(salam) I am working on a project and I need a bit of help. I need 'ahlul bayt' written in calligraphy form. Usually this is easy to find in a google search but for this word I can only find it written out plainly, no fanciness (which is what I need). Anyone able to help in any way?

(salam) Does anyone make digital art (more specifically calligraphy)? What program do you use to add the backgrounds? I asked a few people (though they don't actually do it), the main answer seems to be ‘photoshop’ I signed up with them on this site http://www.photoshop.com/ But can’t really see what I’m supposed to do, I guess I have to pay for one the programs, does anyone know which one it would be? I don’t want anything fancy, I just want to be able to scan what I make, then add a background like in this picture. or like this thanks, with salaams

(salam) When exactly is what you are writing considered an ayah? Lets say I write out an ayah, but I don't link the letters together, should that be considered as "writing of the Holy Qur'an?" What if I do link the letters together, but put the words at various sides of the page, wold that be considered "writing of the Holy Qur'an?" Also, lets say I do write out an ayah as it is in the Qur'an, would i have to keep it apart from my other papers? Should I also avoid writing out my own name when I haven't done wudhu? Thanks in advance, (salam)
