For example I had gotten wet blood onto my hand from touching my pimple, it's approximately the size of a finger tip. Therefore you could pray with it even though there is impurity on you because it's the size of a finger tip. However if the blood dried without me purifying it and my hands were sweaty and I touched my phone would it then transfer the impurity to my phone? and since I touched my phone this means the impurity will become larger than a finger tip as it spread all over it, so if I touched my phone again does this mean now I can't pray unless I purify my hand since when I touched my phone the impurity have become larger than the size of a finger tip.

Salaam, In Ayatollah Sistani’s Islamic Laws book it says: 856. “...If his body or dress is stained with blood, spread over a space lesser than a dirham (which is almost equal to the upper joint of the thumb)...” However, another rule in the book says: 858. “If blood on the dress or the body of a person who is praying, originates from a small cut or wound which can be healed easily, and which can be washed clean, then his namaz is void.”Is rule number 856 ALWAYS unconditional? Because rule 858 looks like it could contradict 856...I have a tiny pimple at the back of my head and when scratching my head I noticed a tiny amount (less than dirham) of dried blood in my finger nail, and there was some pus too after I used tissue to wipe pimple.Can I pray in this sstate because of rule 856? The blood was an extremely tiny amount... However after reading rule 858, now I’m confused on whether I need to wash the back of my head or not...I do not know when and how long it will heal, or if it’s already healed. I can’t see it. Usually any sort of blood that’s less than a Dirham in size would be washed easily and its source would probably heal quick. So what do I do know? If someone can clear these rules it would be great...

Assalamualaikum, I am a new convert to Shia Islam. I have some questions about menstruation and salat. 1. Do we have to make up salat missed during menstruation, or is dhikr during the time of menstruation sufficient? 2. My period is very irregular, sometimes lasting full months at a time. Do I just not do salat for months? Or is there a time when it becomes permissible to do salat during menstruation? Thank you.

As salamu aleikoum, When I did ghusl, because of dead skin on my back (which I wasn't sure whether it stop the water from reaching the "real" skin), I rubbed my back with a brush. After that, I felt pain a little bit. When I finish ghusl, I looked at my back in a mirror and no trace of blood was there. I suppose that my back was red at that moment, like when you scratch yourself or like when you shave. It is said that shaving for instance leads to tiny cuts that cannot be seen with the naked eye. So, is my ghusl valid even if I think that maybe there was some blood on my back, even if there is no trace of it ? Thank you.

Photo: U.S. Army Updated 4:49 p.m. The U.S. intelligence community has uncovered strong evidence that chemical weapons have been used in Syria. Several blood samples, taken from multiple people, have tested positive for the nerve agent sarin, an American intelligence source tells Danger Room. President Obama has long said that the use of such a weapon by the Assad regime would cross a “red line.” So now the question becomes: What will the White House do in response? In March, the Assad regime was accused of using chemical weapons during an attack on the city of Aleppo. The blood samples were taken by Syrian opposition groups from alleged victims of that strike. But American analysts can’t be entirely sure where the blood came from or when the precisely exposure took place. “This is more than one organization representing that they have more than one sample from more than one attack,” the source tells Danger Room. “But we can’t confirm anything because no is really sure what’s going on in country.” What’s clear is that the samples are authentic, and that the weapons were almost certainly employed by the Assad regime, which began mixing up quantities of sarin’s chemical precursors months ago for an potential attack, as Danger Room first reported. “It would be very, very difficult for the opposition to fake this. Not only would they need the wherewithal to steal it or brew it up themselves. Then they’d need volunteers who would notionally agree to a possibly lethal exposure,” the source adds. The U.S. military tests for evidence of nerve gas exposure by looking for the presence of the enzyme cholinesterase in red blood cells and in plasma. (Sarin messes with the enzyme, which in turn allows a key neurotransmitter to build up in the body, causing rather awful muscle spasms.) The less cholinesterase they find, they more likely there was a nerve gas hit. The problem is, some pesticides will also depress cholinesterase. So the military employs a second test. When sarin binds to cholinesterase it loses a fluoride. The pesticides don’t do this. This other test exposes a blood sample to fluoride ions, which reconstitutes sarin if it’s there, in which case it can be detected with mass spectrometry. (“We have not come to the conclusion that there has been that use,” White House spokesman Jay Carney said on Tuesday.) But that changed Thursday morning, when the White House issued a letter (.pdf) to Senators Carl Levin and John McCain confirming the sarin discovery. “Our intelligence community does assess with varying degrees of confidence that the Syrian regime has used chemical weapons on a small scale in Syria, specially the chemical agent sarin. This assessment is based on physiological samples,” the letter reads. “Our standard of evidence must build on these intelligence assessments as we seek to establish credible and corroborated facts. While everyone from the President on down has warned the Assad regime not to use its chemical arms, the White House has been extremely careful not to “pin the administration down on any particular course of action while at the same time not giving Assad any comfort,” Steven Simon, who served as the National Security Council’s director for the Mideast until December, tells Danger Room. “There’s no automaticity to any response.” That was underscored by a White House official briefing reporters on background on Thursday afternoon. The official, who refused to be quoted by name, said that the next step for the administration would be “further investigation,” including by the United Nations, to confirm that chemical weapons were used deliberately by the Assad regime. But the U.N. is already looking into the claims that chemical weapons were used during the March attack in Aleppo. One of the many reasons that the Obama administration has been very careful about going public with these sarin reports is that they’re worried about spoiling that U.N. inquiry. “It could bias the investigation and hurt the U.N.’s ability to get in country,” the intelligence source tells Danger Room. The White House official said it would be premature to declare that Obama’s red line has been crossed. “It’s precisely because we take the red line seriously that we feel like there needs to be clear, factual, evidentiary bases for our decisions,” the official said. “Given our own history with intelligence assessments, including intelligence assessments related to weapons of mass destruction” — a reference to the infamous incorrect assertions that Saddam Hussein possessed stockpiles of chemical and biological weapons before the Iraq invasion — “it’s very important that we are able to establish this with certainty.” Members of Congress with access to intelligence immediately went further. Dianne Feinstein (D-Calif.), the chairwoman of the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence, issued a statement saying, “It is clear that ‘red lines’ have been crossed and action must be taken to prevent larger scale use.” Feinstein appeared to mean military action to remove Assad from power: “I urge the United Nations Security Council — including Russia — to finally take strong and meaningful action to end this crisis in Syria.” Her House counterpart, Rep. Okay its almost time for prayers and i have a small cut. I cant wipe the blood off since I am still bleeding. I've read that some Muslims say that flowing blood and blood on clothes invalidates prayer.. Are they serious!?!?! So my prayers wont count since im bleeding? thats so frustrating, its like everyday im finding a new thing that somehow invalidates prayers.more frustrating is that we cant all agree on exactly what the rule for it is... makes it seem like Islam is such a difficult religion to follow. So is it true that blood invalidates prayers? How could something so basic and vital be considered impure? I mean, i've heard the followers of Hussein would pray while they were being hit with arrows .

(bismillah) (salam) wa RAHMATULLAHI WA BARAKATOH. :D So, I was reading the Risalah and in the Mutahiraat section, there were three different ways of change which can make a najis thing Pak/Tahir, such as najis wood burning and changing into ashes makes it Tahir. So, does a change in state (solid, liquid or gas) also make a thing Tahir? For example, if blood has clotted and become solid, does that make it Tahir? Any help on the question will be appreciated! :D

Salam , Probably it is not recommended to share dreams but I really want help since It is very much needed to understand a very strange Dream that I had last night. OK....It was Laylatul Juma...I had prayed the Prayer of Imam Ali as ......and before this I had done extreme amounts of sins both major and minor. NOW THE DREAM... I walked into a door.....a place I guess ...(note: It was feeling as If I was observing the whole dream and was a part of the dream as well). I was told that Imam Ali as is on a room. I was very much shy and scared and shameful as well to show him my face.To be honest this feeling was there in my body as well.Ok....So I went to this room and say him sleeping.....I remember exactly I even saw his yawn and another personality was right beside him as well probably one of his very dear companion as it felt at that time.I came back again thought whether it is appropriate to meet him or not. I wanted to meet him because I had a persons head in my hand , the same person who beheaded me once but due to the Imam as healing my head came back upon my neck. Finally I went and he greeted ( gets a bit vague here) then I gave him the head...I can recall that he laughed a very pleasant and modest smile....He thn perhaps told me something which I can recall.....BUT I DO REMEMBER THIS THAT HE TOOK A PAPER( DEERS SKIN) AND WROTE A VERSE FROM THE QURAN on it..and told me to go...(dont know which verse it was ) howvever do know that that it was about 5 or 6 words. I took it with me and kissed it while crying and I do believe that he gave the verse as part of a an advice......THEN I LEFT........ As salam aleikum Sorry for bringing another thread regarding validity of prayer, but there I go. As I was sitting for tashahud, I felt a small pain in my left foot which I was relying on. As I stood up after prayer I noticed a very small cut on my foot with blood which seemed to have dried. I realized that even after reading many times about it, I never got to know rulings about blood in prayer.
