  1. The following hadith are presented to describe the knowledge of Imams from the pure progeny of the prophet (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) that has been gifted to them by Allah (سُبْحَانَهُ وَ تَعَالَى) after the prophet (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم).. The following hadith are taken from Al kafi and these have been graded authentic / reliable: 5 - أحمد بن إدريس، عن محمد بن عبد الجبار، عن محمد بن خالد، عن فضالة بن أيوب، عن عبد الله بن أبي يعفور قال: قال أبو عبد الله عليه السلام: يا ابن أبي يعفور إن الله واحد متوحد بالوحدانية، متفرد بأمره، فخلق خلقا فقدرهم لذلك الامر فنحن هم يا ابن أبي يعفور فنحن حجج الله في عباده، وخزانه على علمه، والقائمون بذلك. H 490, Ch. 11, h 5, Vol 1 English Ahmad ibn Idris has narrated from from Muhammad ibn ‘Abd al-Jabbar from Muhammad ibn Khalid from Fudala ibn Ayyub from ‘Abdallh ibn ya‘fur who has said that Imam abu ‘Abdallh ((عليه السلام).) said him the following. "O ibn abu ya‘fur, Allah is One and is the only One in His Oneness. He alone issues His command. He created a creature and appointed and measured them for that command (Amr, task). We are, O ibn abu ya‘fur are that creature. We are the authority of Allah over His creatures, the treasurers of His knowledge and the guardians of it." H 598, Ch. 33, h 1, (Vol 1 English) Ali ibn Ibrahim has narrated from his father from ‘Abd al-‘Aziz ibn al-Muhtadi from ‘Adallah ibn Jundab to who Imam al-Rida ((عليه السلام).) wrote the following. "Thereafter, (thanking Allah) Muhammad (s.a.) was the trustee of Allah for His creatures. When he was taken away from this world we, Ahl al-Bayt inherited him, thus, we are the trustees of Allah over His earth. With us is the knowledge of the sufferings, the death, the genealogy of the Arabs and the birth of Islam. We know the man when we see him in the truth of faith or hypocrisy. Our followers (Shi‘a) are listed (with us) by their names and the names of their fathers. Allah has established a covenant with them and with us. They land wherever we would do so and enter wherever we would enter. There is no besides us and our followers as living the Islamic culture. We are the noble saviors and the descendants of the prophets and of the children of the successors of the prophets. We the ones to whom the book of Allah, the Most Holy, the Most High, has come exclusively. We, of all people, have the first priority (closeness) to the book of Allah. We, of all people, have the first priority (closeness) to the Messenger of Allah. For us He formed His religion. "He has established for you (family of Muhammad) a form of religion which is of the commands to Noah {we are commanded with whatever Noah was commanded}. It is of the mattes that We have revealed to you (Muhammad) and of the commands to Noah, Abraham, Moses, and Jesus to follow.{We have taught and preached the knowledge that was taught to us. We were given the knowledge of these prophets. We are the heirs of the commissioned Messengers}. (He has explained it) so that you (family of Muhammad) would be steadfast and united (all in a united group) in your religion. What you call the polytheists {polytheists in the acknowledgement of the Divine authority of Imam Ali ((عليه السلام).} to{the acknowledgement of the Divine authority of Imam Ali ((عليه السلام).}is extremely grave for them. God {O Muhammad} attracts to (the religion) whomever He wants and guides to it whoever turns to Him in repentance." (42:13) Majlisi صحيح مجلسي (3/11) ..........Contd.

Salaam. Can someone please help me figure out if this is an authentic saying of Imam Ali (AS) please? "The words of Allah are the medicine of the heart." I've seen it multiple times online but wanted to confirm that it's an authentic Hadith/saying. Thanks in advance.
  3. Assalaamualeykum, I was going through the quotes of all the great leaders who had praise the goal and aim of Imam Hussain (عليه السلام), then I stumble upon the quote of Mahatma (Great Soul) Gandhi, this made me eager to dig more about the authenticity of his quote. I was searching for his saying on Imam Hussain from any book or letter source, unfortunately all that was available online was mere a quote not a reference was mentioned, this made me more curious to find out whether all his saying are legit or are they all forged. Then I happened to find the website https://www.gandhiheritageportal.org/ , which have authentic letters of Mahatma Gandhi in a Book form, which is named as 'The Collected Works Of Mahatma Gandhi' and it is in 100 Volumes. It is on their website which says, "A one-time authentic documentation of Gandhiji’s available writings was carried out meticulously, and conscientiously under the CWMG project of the Government of India in 1956." And after going through this book, I have collected some authentic sayings of Mahatma Gandhi regarding Imam Hussain (عليه السلام). And I was amazed how well this Hindu leader adopts his life by following the footsteps of Imam Hussain (عليه السلام). Saying #1: Imam Hasan and Hussein refused to acknowledge the authority of Yazid, for it would have been wrong to do so. For this reason, that is, in order to preserve their honour, they became martyrs. Source: The Collected Works Of Mahatma Gandhi, Vol 7, Letter #89, Pg 122-123. Scan Page: Pg 122: http://oi63.tinypic.com/2lldci8.jpg Pg 123: http://oi64.tinypic.com/9kr18z.jpg Saying #2: Mr. Shahji Saheb, after referring to what Hazrat Imam Hussein had suffered, said that what had happened to Ram Sundar Pundit might also happen to a Muslim priest. Unable to bear this thought, he had forced himself to be prepared to follow the Pundit to gaol. Source: The Collected Works Of Mahatma Gandhi, Vol 7, Pg 418. Scan Page: Pg 418: http://oi65.tinypic.com/2mw8qxw.jpg Saying #3: Imam Hassan and Hussain were merely two boys. They felt that an injustice had been done to them. When called upon to surrender, they refused. They knew at the time that this would mean death for them. If, however, they were to submit to injustice, they woud disgrace their manhood and betray their religion. In these circumstances, they yielded to the embrace of death. The heads of these fine young men rolled on the battlefield. In my view, Islam did not attain its greatness by the power of the sword but entirely through the self-immolation of its fakirs (saints). Scan Page: Pg 518: http://oi65.tinypic.com/2mfllol.jpg Saying #4: Muslim students have before them the example of Imam Hasan and Husain. Islam has not been kept alive by the sword, but by the many great fakirs (saints) with a high sense of honour whom it has produced. The true Kshatriya does not kill but receives blows on himself. Imam Hussen and Hassan were Kshatriyas. Their oppressor was a tyrant. Source: The Collected Works Of Mahatma Gandhi, Vol 20, Letter #60, Pg 52. Scan Page: Pg 52: http://oi64.tinypic.com/2qiprmb.jpg Note: Kshatriya (from Sanskrit kśatra, "rule, authority") is one of the four varna (social orders) of the Hindu society. The Sanskrit term kśatriya is used in the context of Vedic society wherein members organised themselves into four classes: kshatriya, brahmin, vaishya and shudra. Traditionally, the kshatriya constituted the ruling and military elite. Their role was to protect society by fighting in wartime and governing in peacetime. Saying #6: In this connection, it would be well to ponder over the lives and examples of Harishchandra, Prahlad, Ramachandra, Imam Hasan and Imam Husain, the Christian saints, etc. How beautitful it would be if all of us, young and old, men and women, meditated, till next week, on these thoughts at all hours of the day, whetther working, eating, drinking or playing, and were rewarded with innocent sleep? 5. Before Sunnis come to us with a weak hadith and say 'Look! The Shia believe the Quran is incomplete!'. First we should say, they are weak and were compiled by fallible people. We don't believe the Quran is incomplete. Then we should say 'How about these which you say are completely perfect?'(I'm only quoting from Sahih Bukhari and Sahih Muslim). Umar ibn al Khattab said, Certainly Allah sent Muhammad with the truth and revealed him the Book. One of the revelations which came to him was the verse of stoning. We read it and understood it. The Messenger of God stoned and we stoned after him. I am concerned that if time goes on, some one may say ‘ By God we do not find the verse of stoning in the Book of God ‘; thus, the Muslims will deviate by neglecting a commandment the Almighty revealed. Al-Bukhari recorded in his Sahih, v8, pages 209-210 According to Umar, there was a verse of stoning revealed when we know there is no verse of stoning, and he's concerned that people will stop stoning because that bit is missing. 3 options here:1) Bukhari isn't sahih 2) Umar is a liar 3) the Quran is actually incomplete. It's obviously the first or the second. If I were not afraid of the fact that people may say that ‘Umar has added to the Qur’an extra (verses), I would have written the Verse al- Rajm (stoning to death of married adulterers) with my own hands. Sahih al-Bukhari, vol 9, p212.Here, Umar says he would have added the verse with his own hands if he wasn't afraid of the people (whole host of implications about the persona of Umar there, but that is a different topic). Aisha said that the Qur’anic verse enjoining stoning for adultery was written on a leaf, but the leaf was accidentally eaten by a goat while the Prophet Muhammad was on his death-bed, and thus the verse was lost. Sahih Muslim, the book of nursing (al-Ridha), v10 pages 29 (Arabic). We used to read a Chapter from the Qur’an similar to Bara’ah in length and seriousness, but I forgot it. I can remember from the Chapter only the following words:Should a son of Adam own two valleys full of wealth, he should seek a third valley and nothing would fill Ibn Adam’s abdomen but the soil.Sahih Musllim Chapter CCCXCI, p500, Tradition #2286. If I were a Sunni and I read those ahadith, I would have to ponder as to whether these 'sahih' books are actually sahih- just a side note- the book of Nikah in Sahih Bukhari contains some shocking ahadith which are an insult to the Messenger (pbuh) and I will make an article about that inshallah. To conclude, Bukhari and Muslim think that that there was an ayah about stoning, a whole Surah the size of al Bar'ah is missing, and, oh, I almost forgot, Allah can't protect his holy book from a goat.
  6. Assalamu Alaikum wa ramatullahi wa barakatahu Hi, new guest here. I have converted to al deen al haq (Shia Islam). What do our imams suggest us to grow our imaan. Ya Ali Madad Haqq
  7. For anyone who is in denial that it is not in their books and needs to see it for themselves: Mu’awiya asks Sa’d to curse Ali (as) We read in Sahih Muslim: عن عامر بن سعد بن أبي وقاص، عن أبيه، قال أمر معاوية بن أبي سفيان سعدا فقال ما منعك أن تسب أبا التراب فقال أما ما ذكرت ثلاثا قالهن له رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم فلن أسبه لأن تكون لي واحدة منهن ۔۔۔ This hadith has been narrated on the authority of Shu’ba with the same chain of transmitters. Amir b. Sa’d b. Abi Waqqas reported on the authority of his father that Muawiya b. Abi Sufyin appointed Sa’d as the Governor and said: What prevents you from abusing Abu Turab (Hadrat ‘Ali), whereupon be said : It is because of three things which I remember Allah’s Messenger (may peace be upon him) having said about him that I would not abuse him and even if I find one of those three things for me, it would be more dear to me than the red camelg. I heard Allah’s Messenger (may peace be upon him) say about ‘Ali as he left behind hrin in one of his campaigns (that was Tabuk). ‘All said to him: Allah’s Messenger, you leave me behind along with women and children. Thereupon Allah’s Messenger (may peace be upon him) said to him: Aren’t you satisfied with being unto me what Aaron was unto Moses but with this exception that there is no prophethood after me. And I (also) heard him say on the Day of Khaibar: I would certainly give this standard to a person who loves Allah and his Messenger and Allah and his Messenger love him too. He (the narrator) said: We have been anxiously waiting for it, when he (the Holy Prophet) said: Call ‘Ali. He was called and his eyes were inflamed. He applied saliva to his eyes and handed over the standard to him, and Allah gave him victory. (The third occasion is this) when the (following) verse was revealed: “Let us summon our children and your children.” Allah’s Messenger (may peace be upon him) called ‘Ali, Fatima, Hasan and Husain and said: O Allah, they are my family." - Sahih Muslim, Chapter of Virtues of Companions, Section of Virtues of Ali, Book 31, Number 5915 Ibn Kathir, a high ranking scholar from Ahlus Sunnah records: When Mu’awiya went for Hajj, he held the hand of Sa’d bin Abi Waqas and said to him: ‘Oh Abi Ishaq! We are the people who abandoned Hajj because of wars until we almost forgot some of its laws, so we performed Tawaf (circumambulation) to imitate your Tawaf’. When they completed (the hajj), he (Muawiya) entered upon him (Sa’d) in a conference room and sat with him on his sofa, then he (Muawiya) mentioned Ali bin Abi Talib and cursed him. He (Sa’d) said: ‘You brought me to your house and made me sit on your sofa and then you have begun to curse Ali?’ - Al Bidayah wa al Nahayah, Volume 7 page 341, Chapter: The virtues of Ali عن سعد بن أبي وقاص قال قدم معاوية في بعض حجاته فدخل عليه سعد فذكروا عليا فنال منه فغضب سعد وقال تقول هذا “On his way to Hajj, Sa’d met Mu’awiya and his companions mentioned Ali upon which Mu’awiya cursed him, Sa’d got angry and asked ‘why do you say such things?’” Esteemed scholar of Salafi Sect Shaykh Al-albaani graded the Hadith as ‘Sahih’ [Reference in Sahih Sunan Ibn Majah by Albani, Volume 1 page 26] al-Tabari reported: "When Muawiya Ibn Abi Sufyan put al-Mughairah Ibn Shu’ba in charge of Kufah in Jumada 41 (September 2- October 30, 661), he summoned him. After praising and glorifying God, he said: “Now then, indeed a forbearing person has been admonished in the past… The wise might do what you want without instruction. Although I have wanted to advise you about many things, I left them alone, trusting in your discernment of what pleases me, what helps my regime and what sets my subjects [raiyyah] on the right path. I would continue to advise you about a quality of yours- do not refrain from abusing Ali and criticizing him, not from asking God’s mercy upon Uthman and His forgiveness for him. Continue to shame the companions of Ali, keep at a distance, and don’t listen to them. Praise the faction of Uthman, bring them near, and listen to them." - History of Tabari, English version, events of year 51 AH, Execution of Hujr Ibn Adi, v18, pp 122-123 Sunni Imam Ibn Jareer Tabari records: "The Messenger of Muawiya then came to them with orders to release six and to kill eight, telling them: We have been ordered to let you disavow Ali and curse him. If you do so, we shall release you, and if you refuse, we shall kill you." - History of Tabari, English version, events of year 51 AH, v18, p149 “Al-Hasan asked Mu’awiya to give him what is in Kufa’s treasury worth five million, Ebjird city tax, and not to curse Ali, Mu’awiya refused to desist from cursing Ali, so (al-Hasan) asked him not to curse Ali when he could hear it, (Mu’awiya) accepted this but failed to fulfil it, and about Darabjird city tax, the people of Basrah refused to deliver it to him and said that the income belonged to them and they would not give it to any one, their rejection was upon the orders of Mu’awiya” - Tarikh Kamil (Urdu), Volume 3 pages 2-3 (Usmania Academy, Hyderabad, India) - Tarikh Kamil (Arabic), Volume 3 page 272 (Beruit) - Tarikh Kamil, Volume 2 page 108 (from www.islamport.com) ---- قال دخلت على أم سلمة فقالت لي : أيسب رسول الله صلى الله عليه و سلم فيكم قلت معاذ الله أو سبحان الله أو كلمة نحوها قالت سمعت رسول الله صلى الله عليه و سلم يقول من سب عليا فقد سبني Abdullah al-Jadali said: ‘I came to Um Salama and she said to me: ‘How come Allah’s Messenger is being cursed among you?’. I replied: ‘We seek refuge from Allah or praise Allah or some similar words’. She said: ‘I heard Allah’s Messenger (pbuh) saying ‘whoever curses Ali has cursed me’ - Musnad Ahmed, Volume 6 page 323 Hadith 26791 من سب عليا فقد سبني، ومن سبني فقد سب الله The Prophet Sawa said: ‘Whoever curses Ali has cursed me and whoever has cursed me, he has cursed Allah.' - Al-Jam’e al-Saghir, Volume 2 page 608 Hadith 8736 that has been declared ‘Sahih’ by Sunni Hafiz Jalaluddin Syuti -- وَقُلْ جَاء الْحَقُّ وَزَهَقَ الْبَاطِلُ إِنَّ الْبَاطِلَ كَانَ زَهُوقًا "The truth has prevailed, and falsehood has vanished; falsehood will inevitably vanish." - The Holy Quran Surah Isra, 17:81 ‏والآخر دعواتنا الحمد لله رب العالمين
