  1. Assalamu aleikoum, ya 'Ali madad, I would like to see everyone of those people mentioned here in the tags and even other Shi'a whom I forgot to mention to create here topic of understanding support and Shi'ite unity. Be friendly in the name of Allah (سُبْحَانَهُ وَ تَعَالَى)! We can discuss here our faith practices but really, be friendly and be brothers and sisters here. Our religion is Islam Shi'a, that´s what unite us!
  2. Selam Aleykum. I read many posts about Alawi about what they believe about Imam Ali (as). I read that Alawi believe that Ali is God. I am Arap Alawi/alevi. I am from Syria. I can assure the people here who are reading this, that we do NOT believe that Imam Ali is God. There is only 1 God, no other. La Illahe iIlAllah. Some people might say: But all they talk about is Ali. This might be so, but didnt our prophet (saw) say: Ya Ali, Whoever loves you has loved me, whoever hates you has hated me. i am the city of knowledge and ali is its gate. Muhammed (saw) and Ali (as) resemble
  3. Salam, I would like to have a better understanding of my Shia brothers and sisters who follow other branches of Islam. I would like to learn about Zaydi, Ismaili, Druze, Alawi,Yarsan, and Bektashi, but I'm not looking for superficial stuff I could find online I would like in depth teachings that cover prayers (and prayer times), Philosophical trends, what is considered Halal and Haram, view of scripture, are books besides the Qur'an and Hadith used, how you perform salat, basically everything. both the esoteric and exoteric views of scripture, and your view on the Mahdi. If you are willin

  6. This was from the journal Middle East Studies back in 1989, by Daniel Pipes, I disagree with a lot of his anti-Islamic views, but this particular article is an interesting and objective, neutral historic account of the Alawi rise to power, (concluding that a once former persecuted and impoverished sector of Syrian society rose through the ranks due to two key institutions: the military and Ba'ath party). A bit of a long-read, but worthwhile. The Alawi Capture of Power in Syria by Daniel Pipes Middle Eastern Studies 1989 For many centuries, the 'Alawis were the weakest, poorest, most rural, mo
  7. Salaam Alaykoum I was just curious about the faith of the Alawis. Some of my Shia friends while others do not. What do you guys say? I don't understand how they are to be considered muslims yet they do not find it obligory to fast, preform prayers, pay zakaat or do pilgrimage. Any opinions would be highly regarded. Salaam :)
