I pray for the best of mankind, for our piety and closeness to Allah to increase, for the injustice to rid of this world, and for the arrival of Imam Mahdi A.S. Please do the same, eltimas e dua. I highly suggest you all fast. (wasalam) On 18th Zilhijjah of the year 10 A.H. (10 March 632 CE) ,after completing the last pilgrimage ,the Holy Prophet (pbuh) along with around 100,000 Muslims reached a place called 'Ghadir-e-khumm' near Mecca. The following verse was revealed :Quran 5:67] O Messenger! deliver what bas been revealed to you from your Lord; and if you do it not, then you have not delivered His message, and Allah will protect you from the people; surely Allah will not guide the unbelieving people. On receiving the above verse, the Holy Prophet stopped at that very place & delivered a speech an extract of which is :-[....It seems the time has approached when I shall be called away (by Allah) and I shall answer that call. I am leaving for you two precious things and if you adhere to them both, you will never go astray after me. They are the Book of Allah and my Progeny, that is my Ahlul Bayt. The two shall never separate from each other until they come to me by the Pool (of Paradise)." Then the Holy Prophet (pbuh) in an attempt to remind Muslims of his own authority over them said: " Do I not have more right over the believers than what they have over themselves? " Muslims answered unanimously " Yes, O' Messenger of God ". This served as a stepping stone for the announcement of his heir and vicegerent. The Holy Prophet(pbuh) held out the hand of Ali(as) and said: " For whoever I am his Leader (mawla), 'Ali is his Leader (mawla)." The Holy Prophet then continued to say: " O' God, love those who love him, and be hostile to those who are hostile to him."] .. http://duas.org/ghadir.htm Just a few amaal: Imam Ali Ibn Moosa Ar Reza (a.s.) said: "It is highly rewarding to be in Najaf Iraq today for performing the Ziyarat of Imam Ali ibn Abi Talib (A.S.). Give Alms today as much as you can, in the name of Allah, to the less fortunate, because, the "day of Ghadeer" is particularly specified for helping deserving people." We can give expression to our joy and happiness in a suitable manner keeping in view the life style the tenets of Islam. It is highly desirable to make the believers (Momineen) happy. to do favours to relatives, to give gifts, and invite friends and relatives to eat meals together, forgive mistakes etc. Recite salwaat "Allahuma salle alaa Mohammad wa Aale Mohammad " اللّهُمّ صَلّ عَلَى مُحَمّدٍ وَآلِ مُحَمّدٍ بِهِ.'O Allah, send blessings on Muhammad and his household'. Sayed Modarassi states: #RecommendedOnEidGhadir: To fast. It equates to fasting "an aeon". It is narrated it washes the sins of 60 years and equals 100 Hajj/Umras! #RecommendedOnEidGhadir: To give charity, for every coin equals a million coins given on other days, for it is "the greatest day of all" #RecommendedOnEidGhadir: To invite believers over a meal as "feeding a believer in the day of #Ghadeer equates to feeding all the Prophets"!
  4. Salam Alaykum, I searched for this all over ShiaChat but either there isn't much here or I'm having trouble navigating. Can anyone please share any information they may have about Hawza short courses for 2014 and/or 2015. From what i have heard, the majority of short courses work in a way that "you bring a group of people and tell us the dates, we'll orgnise the course for you" - i.e. there are no set dates or structured programs which people can enrol into and attend. I live in Australia and would prefer something in Karbala, Najaf, Qom or Mashhad. Jazakallah
  5. Salam, New gregorian year is starting. Most of the people follow the gregorian dates for various life changing events so for whatever it's worth, please make an effort to start it with these two acts: 1. Salat ul Layl before the Fajr of Jan. 1st of 2014. 2. Ziarat Ashura with Dua After the Ziarat during the day of 1st Jan. InshaAllah let's plan on meeting each other in Karbala this year.
  6. (bismillah) 1st terrorist attack of new year 2014 on shias pilgrims coming back from karbala after ziarat of imam Hussain (AS) At least three people were killed and 24 others injured when a bus carrying pilgrims was hit by a roadside blast in Akhtarabad town in Quetta, police and witnesses said Wednesday. The bus, carrying at least 50 Shia pilgrims, was travelling from Iran to the city of Quetta in Balochistan when the attack happened near Qambrani Road. The bus burst into flames after the intense blast. Panic gripped the area after the incident. Passersby and local residents shifted the victims to nearby hospitals on a self-help basis. Emergency and rescue teams were dispatched to the blast site. An emergency has been declared at Bolan Medical Complex. Security personnel were cordoning off the blast site to control the situation. No group has admitted carrying out the attack but police say they believe the motive was sectarian. Buses leave Quetta every day to carry pilgrims to the Shia holy sites in western Iran and parts of southern Iraq. The area has been frequently been targeted in sectarian, suicide and other militant attacks in the past. Ya Imam e Zaman (AS) come for help
