When I wanted to improve my English language skills, especially fluency, I tried a few things but the only one that seems to have worked well was watching humor or comedy shows on TV (Yes Minister, Candid Camera, The Simpsons, Friends, Colbert Report and others) for a few hours every day. It was easy because these kind of shows are very popular, just buy the CD/DVDs or go to YouTube or official sites and start watching episode after episode after episode... Arabic however, I couldn't figure out... can people please suggest any equivalent shows that are popular and easily accessible (I don't mind paying a little bit if it means good quality) and have reliable sub-titles? One great side-effect of the English shows I watched was the popular culture lessons I learned as a result, and things didn't feel alien when I visited these countries later. I would love it if your suggestions are also popular enough to catch-up on Arabic cultures and norms too, apart from being funny :)
