  1. Assalamu alaykum A muslim family invited me for iftar tomorrow, and I accepted. They owe a store and their earnings come from selling Christian statues (like statues of Saints or statues of Jesus on The cross and the Virgin Mary) , statues of Buddha, amulets, and things like that, which I think it's haram. Now I have 2 questions: 1) Are their earnings haram? I think it's unlawful because they are muslim and it's like promoting corrupt beliefs. 2) In case their earnings are haram, is it haram for me to accept their invitation and eat at their house? I'm asking this because I know that if our income is from haram sources then even the food we buy with that money is haram to eat. I don't know what to do because I already accepted the invitation but I really don't want to eat haram, specially because it's Ramadan, I don't want to commit any sin this month. Also my mom is mad at me because I don't want to attend to the dinner(I want to avoid eating from haram earnings), but it's like I'm being disrespectul to them. What should I do? If I don't attend I would hurt their feelings and they will be mad at me, but if I attend I might be comitting a very big sin. I already sent this question to many scholars but I don't think I will receive any answer before tomorrow, that's why I'm asking here.
  2. Salam All, I have often heard that one only visits the holy Shrines(Specifically of the Masoom/infallibles from which Imam Hussain) only if you get invited by them and it is not possible to visit otherwise no matter how hard you try, I have come across wealthy & resourceful individuals who wish to visit yet face an obstacle every time they want to do so and have also come across poor individuals who have no resources and yet somehow get to visit on atleast a yearly basis, bearing this in mind while being blessed with the opportunity of being able to visit these holy shrines, I have there come across people from around the world who I know from personal experience are not of a very good character to say the least(although I feel it could be that only one act from any human could be sufficient to please and we do not have the capacity to truly judge someone as we are not fully aware of their circumstances and should never judge a person), Just wanted to know if any of this is backed by any references from scholars or the hadith.
