salaam-u-alaikum, would someone please give me a basic structure that I could use for a khutba as I have recently signed up to give them at school and want to paint a posative image for Shi'as in the eyes of my Sunni friends. Some ideas as to what I would speak about aswell would be much appreciated

What you have learned in today's friday sermon? Would you like to share? I myself attended the friday prayer at a Brelvi Mosque. Where khatib was telling the benefits of speaking the truth even at times of difficulties. And was telling some merits/powers of Shaikh Abdul Qadir Jeelani rehmatullah alaihe. To which I totally disagree with him. And in first Rakah he recited Surah Jumah verses 9-11 and in second Surah Kauthar. “The best of days on which the sun has risen is Friday. One this day Adam was created, and on this day he was descended to earth.” (Saheeh Bukhari) W.salam

(Bismillah) (salam) I'm quite a fan of Dr. Brown myself and I know some others here also are, so, I thought I'd share something I found quite interesting. The following is a video of him delivering a Khutba at a Mosque in Las Vegas early this year in march. Was very interesting and refreshing to see him speak in a non-academic setting and purely to and for a Muslim audience. His latest book: Misquiting Muhammad: The Challenge and Choices of Interpreting the Prophet's Legacy was published yesterday: I just discovered he has set up his own YouTube channel: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC4L23Z_agh1qeV_odQfV6Vg that has his previous lectures as well as recent ones.
