Selam love community, there is apparently a book which should have refuted the arguments of Muhammed Al Tijani. Has anyone ever read this book and can tell if these were really refutations or excuses? Wa sallam

Salam un Alaykum, Often times we see traditions in books like Al Kafi, Tabari, Bihar Al Anwar, and Tafsirs such as Suyuti, Tabari, Qummi, etc.(You get the point) but point is sometimes these Hadiths turn out to be unauthentic, and the authors usually state at the start of their books, that they don't vouch for the authenticity of these traditions (Bukhari and Muslim are exceptions), so it leaves me to wonder why didn't the compilers just leave out those unauthentic traditions, because lay people like me don't really know Ilm Ul Rijal so it would hard for people like me to gain Authentic Ilm from those books, also these unauthentic traditions are a basis for propoganda against both sects for laymen people who don't really know much about Hadiths sciences at all, and can serve as the basis for hate, anyways enough of me I would like to and invite all brothers and sisters to bring forth your opinions and thoughts

There are two recent thread on hadith of Ghadeer: The links are given below: A discussion has been conducted and some is in progress. But there are still points / view that need to be added / elaborated. I intend to add those points for analysis / verification. The is divided in to two sections: Section 1: Shia View Section 2: Sunni View

Will prevail when Imam Mahdi ((عليه السلام)) and Prophet Jesus ((عليه السلام)) returns. For the most part, the Palestinians have been brain washed by the salafi’s to the extent that a large percentage of Isis fighters when they were caught were from Palestine and then Chechnya then Tunisia and then Saudi Arabia. I think you and the other guy that I’ve heard of are the only Palestinian Shia’s that exists. The rest are either “Sunni” or “Christian” in short yous are rare gem.

As salamu alaykum I hope everyone is in the best of health Insha’Allah during these crazy times. I’m a 18 year old Palestinian and Egyptian born Muslim and a new “revert” from ahlul Sunnah to the Ahlul Bayt school of thought. I was wondering if anyone had any good book recommendations about Islamic history and good source books. Growing up Islamic history wasn’t emphasised so I’m kinda a newbie to in depth context and sources sourrounding the context of when surahs/ ayas were revealed, I.e Surah al Tawbah, or hadiths/ history surrounding the martyrdom of Hussain as. I don’t know if this is related but also if anyone has any recommendations for mosques in London and also mosques that possibly offer lessons that would be great too. Jazak’Allah everyone.

Happy Eid everyone!!! I'm happy to announce on this joyous occasion that I've just launched a website that contains and displays the Hadith from the Ahlulbayt(عليه السلام). The link is: https://ahlulbayt-hadith.com/. Reason for making this website: So far I've been using https://www.al-islam.org/ and their website is great. However, it can be hard to only search for ahadith as there are many other content that gets parsed in their website. For this purpose, I thought that it might be useful to have a website dedicated solely to the hadith of the Ahlulbayth (عليه السلام). Additionally, the sunni hadith books have such websites so I thought that we should also make our hadith books available online. Current features: Over 3000 hadiths from Usul Al-Kafi with complete chains and references. The ability to search by keywords through the hadiths. Navigate from one hadith to the next. Features that I plan to add soon: Bihar Al-Anwar and other classic Shia hadith books Arabic ahadith Complete hadith book viewer in the browser Screenshot: Please check this website out and let me know if you have any suggestions for improvement or any comments!

Salaam, I hope someone can assist me here who knows a bit about hadith and the book Kitab Sulaym ibn Qays. For a while I have been working on research which has identified him as a reliable Sunni narrator known as Qays ibn al Abbad/Ubad al Qaysi.. This is proven by showing his biography and narrations are highly similar if not almost the same as Sulaym's. For example both narrators mostly narrator from Imam 'Ali (عليه السلام), Ammar ibn Yasir talk (رضي الله عنه), both died around 80AH, described as devout worshippers "Abbad" and freely narrator about: The people of the Contract (ahl al-'Uqd) which are People of the document (ahl al-Sahifah) in Sulaym's book (read Hadith 20 or end of Hadith 4) [They are Abu Bakr, Umar, Abu Ubaydah and Salim] The 12 hypocrites. [1] [2] [3] [also read the end of Hadith 4 in Kitab Sulaym] Ali being the first truthful (Siddiq) and first to bear witness (Shahid). [1] [2] [3] {interestingly Abbad has been regarded as weak in the third narration probably because he is pro-Ali} Interestingly the reliable Shi'i narrator Sulayman al-Tarkhan/Taymi is in the chain of the first narration in Sunan al-Nasa'i where Ubayy ibn Ka'b (رضي الله عنه) says the People of the Contract/Agreeement (ahl al-Uqd) are "doomed". This same in his biography [37] is said to have been a student/client of "Qays". Sulayman al-Taymi is the same person who narrates the house burning incident in al-Baladhuri: Reported from Sulaiman al-Taymi, from Abdullah bin Awn “Abu Bakr asked Ali to support him, but Ali refused, then Umar went toward Ali's house with a burning torch. At the door he met Fatima who said to him: "Do you intend to burn the door of my house?" Umar said: "Yes”! (Ansab al-Ashraaf, by al-Baladhuri Ahmed bin Yahya bin Jaber al-Baghdadi, v1, p 586) Is it a coincidence that this man also narrates about the people of the contract (ahl al-'Uqd) which is ALSO in Sulaym's book? I have about 10-12 screenshots which I cannot upload due to file size restrictions, so could someone knowledgeable in this area please PM me their email so I could send you this research? Jazakallah

Shia Methodology of Hadith Verification
MuhammadHasanAlBritani posted a topic in Shia/Sunni Dialogue
As-Salamu-Alaykum. I recently watched a video where some of my Sunni brothers criticised the Shia hadith tradition, and so I've come on here to ask a few questions. I am very fascinated by the topic of hadith, and particularly the Shia tradition. As I understand it, you do not view your Kutab al-Arba'ah the same way we view our Kutub al-Sittah (or more specifically Bukhari/Muslim as the four Sunnans can have quite a few weak hadith). I understand you perhaps view Kitab al-Kafi similarly to how we view the Sunan al-Kubra of Imam an-Nasa'i Rahimullah (not his Sunan al-Saghir which is included in Kutub al-Sittah) i.e. it has many authentic reports but may have quite a few weak reports too (and both books are a similar size etc.) Perhaps an even better comparison is Sunan al-Kubra of Imam Bayhaqi Rahimullah - which is around the same time period. Anyway, my question relates to verification of hadith and the exact method. As I am an English speaker, who doesn't know much arabic, I can't really go and open up your books of Rijal/Biographies etc. So I want to ask on here instead. Could someone demonstrate to me how a Shia Muhadith would go about verifying a Hadith? As in can you bring a Hadith from Kitab al-Kafi (let's say the first one), and walk me through the methodology use with regards to authenticating the chain etc. Also could someone tell me if it is true that Shia give more weight to the Matn than the Isnad? Are Nawasib reported (as in the Khawarij) rejected or are they allowed to report? If a Hadith goes against your theology, would you be able to reject it based on just the content of the Matn? Also how do you evaluate reporters of hadith - what makes them thiqah? I think the more detail you go into the better it will be. Please do not link videos - unless the content in them in 100% Sunni-friendly (no Sahabah cursing etc.). Thanks in advance!- 13 replies

I wanted to make the following my signature, until I realized it surpasses the maximum signature length, and the maximum of two website links in the signature. Please note that I only included links to navigable websites, not download pages, unless otherwise stated. If you know of any websites that are missing from my list, please comment them below. Please let me know if there are any mistakes or improvements to be made. Many Thanks. Salam I was wondering if we have any Mustakhraj Hadith books for our Hadith collections? I have recently learnt that the Sunnis have supplementary books that bypass Bukhari and Muslm in the chains of narration which subsequently strengthen their Hadith corpus, and the Sunni Hadith collections corroborate a lot in general so they are less susceptible to fabrication. Do we have the same kind of corroboration in our books, and are most Mutawatir Hadith only narrated within their respective books rather than say the same Hadith being in both Bihar Al Anwar and Al Kafi? This is starting to make me doubt our books are as reliable :/

Salaam, Hope you all are safe and doing well. In many countries, there's a tradition of calling for prayers on Loudspeakers. Many have banned or limited the use of amplifying device. It is not a good feeling for those with babies, sick, elderly and especially non-muslims to wake up at 5am. Do we have any hadith/riwayayaat for saying Azaan in a Loud voice (on Loudspeakers in this age). I am asking from perspective of Hukukun Naas (Rights of the people).

Most of the scholars like Ayatollah Sayyid Ali Sistani, Ayatollah al-Khoei and many other Sunni and Shia scholars believe and claim " Music " to be a strictly unlawful act in Islam. I want to know if there is any scholar or jurist who believes and claims "Music" to be lawful. Here, I meant by the word "scholar" is a " Twelver Marja' " or a " Sunni Grand Mufti ".

Salam aleykum, I have heard from different hadiths that the earth/dust of Karbala cures every aliment except deadly ones and I do believe that every earth/place has its own energy which affects the people living there. Well, I had an idea in mind and I wanted to see if its advisable or something that should be refrained from. I think all of my turbahs are from Karbala soil and after I have used them for some time they get dirty, I usually take a knife and scrape off the dirty top layer of the turbah, the "dirty" layer is still mixed with large amounts of Karbala soil. So I was thinking: is it allowed to mix this earth with planting earth in a pot and then for example grow herbs or vegetables from that mixed earth? That way the fruit of such earth is grown on/from Karbala soil and should contain the blessings of it the way I see it. Is it okay to do this and has anyone done it before/know if the fruits has the benefits of the earth?

There has not appeared via authentic isnads, hadiths testifying to the virtues of any Companion like what has appeared testifying to the virtues of Ali b. Abi Talib. ~ Ahmad ibn Hanbal Sunni source; Ibn Abi Ya’la, Tabaqat al-hanabila, vol. 2, page 156. As narrated to us by Jabir ibn Abdullah, the Prophet ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) said; Ali b. Abi Talib is the earliest to embrace Islam in my community, the most knowledgeable of them, the most correct in his religion, the most virtuous in his certainty, the most prudent, generous and brave of heart, and he is the imam and caliph after me. Shia source; Shaykh al-Saduq, Amali al-saduq, p. 7. The same hadith can be found in many Sunni collections, even early ones such as the Musannaf of al-Sanani and the Musnad of ibn-Hanbal. However, with absence of the last section referring to Imam Ali (عليه السلام) as a Caliph and Imam. Other hadiths such as Ghadir Khumm, ruled by al-Tirmidhi and al-Hakim al-Naysaburi to be sahih (authentic), and the hadith of two weighty things (Quran and Ahlul Bayt) ruled by al-Hakim, Ibn Khuzayma, Muslim b. al-Hajjaj to be sahih (authentic). Among some, al-Naysaburi declared the hadith narrated from the Prophet ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) “O Fatima, Allah is angered when you are angered, Allah is pleased when you are pleased”, to be sahih (authentic). Many times Shia narrations were openly stolen and incorporated into the Sunni books by giving them different authorship. For example, Shaykh al-Saduq quoted (Amali, p. 6) Imam Muhammad al-Baqir (عليه السلام) that the Prophet ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) had said that the best of Allah’s (سُبْحَانَهُ وَ تَعَالَى) slaves are those “Who, when they seek perfection in their acts, hope for good tidings, seek forgiven when they do wrong, are thankful to Allah (سُبْحَانَهُ وَ تَعَالَى) when they give, persevere when they are tired, and forgive when they are angered.” The same hadith can be found in Hilyat al-awliya (volume 6, page 120) by Abu Nuy’am but through a very Sunni isnad. Shaykh al-Saduq died before Abu Nuy’am. Overall, at least 100 Shia narrators found themselves in the major Sunni “authentic” books. In rijal alshi'ah fii asaneed alsunnah we can find the names of 140 of them. al-Muraja’at lists 100 of them. For example, narrations from Adi ibn Thabit al-Kufi can be found in Sunan ibn Majah and other books. Ibn Ma`in has described him as a "Shi`a extremist," while Dar Qutni calls him "Rafidi, extremist, but also reliable." Al-Mas`udi says, "We have never seen anyone who is so outspoken in preaching his Shi`a views like `Adi ibn Thabit."

I was wondering if any of the dear brothers/sisters can provide the beautiful narration stated in the video. May Allah (سُبْحَانَهُ وَ تَعَالَى) bless you all.

Salam can someone please explain this Hadith, and why marketplaces are seen to be despised if they’re places where one may gain a reasonable and Halal sustenance which can be used in the way of Allah(سُبْحَانَهُ وَ تَعَالَى)

I can't find it. I remember it was something like "I love poverty more than wealth, sickness rather than health and death rather than life." It was not the one that goes like this: "They breed what they ultimately bury, they build what they ultimately destroy, they hold firm to what is ephemeral and they forsake what is everlasting. Hence blessed are the two cries people hate the most: Death and Poverty!" I am sure it is not that one I am thinking of because I especially remember the bit about preferring sickness over health. Also if anyone has any other good Abu Dharr quotes, by him or about him, or stories you can post them. But especially I am looking for this one quote.

Assalamu Alaikum, I was once told or perhaps heard in a lecture, that Imam Reza as helps the believers cross the sirat in the next world, on the condition that we visit him (shrine). Please can anyone give me the reference/source to this, it would be most appreciated? I need this for a project. Thank you.

These are the narrations I have found: “The Almighty Allah has sent me as a mercy to the worlds, to guide the people. And He ordered me to eradicate the playing of flute and other instruments of music, all games of vice, idol (worship) and all practices of the days of ignorance.” (Mustadrak ul-Wasa’il, Chapter 79) “A person who possesses a sitar, on the day of Qiyāma will be raised with a black face. His hands will be holding a sitar of fire. Seventy thousand angels with maces of fire will be hitting him on the face and the head. The singer will arise from his grave, blind, deaf and dumb. The adulterer will be similarly raised. The player of flute will also be made to rise in this way as will be the drum player." (Mustadrak ul-Wasa’il) I want to know who narrated from the Prophet ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم))? Even the first transmitter is fine. Thank you very much!

"The people will face a period in which power and authority will come only through bloodshed and brute oppression. Wealth will be amassed by usurping the rights of others and by stinginess. Love will be realised only by giving up faith and pursuing carnal desires. Whoever should find that period should have patience in poverty because it will be better than faith, patience against grudge because it will be better than love, and patience against humility because it is better than honour. Allah will grant the reward of fifty truthful persons who believed in the Prophet". - Imam Al-Sadiq (عليه السلام) (al-Kafi vol. 2)

I've heard that Sahih Bukhari and Muslim are more authentic than the Shia hadith books. Also why don't we take hadiths from them, I doubt all of them are inauthentic.

Hey brothers and sisters, a Sunni sent me the following Shia hadiths about Imam Mahdi (aj), could someone answer and/or explain that? Thats urgent. 1st. Bahau-d-Din al-Husseini al-Najafi, describing the Imam-Mahdi as: "And he (Kaim) will kill the men, tear off the belly of pregnant women and the babies on spears" (Surur ahli-l-iman, p. 105). The Mahdi will kill people and cut the bellies of pregnant women ("Bihar al Anwar", Volume 52, p. 348). المهدي سيقتل الناس ويقطعون بطون النساء الحوامل ("بيهار الأنوار"، المجلد 52، ص 348). 3rd. The followers of the Mahdi will be people from the of the sons of Israel (the Jews). (Bihar al Anwar, vol. 52, p. 346). أتباع المهدي سيكونون من أبناء إسرائيل (اليهود). (بيهار آل أنور، المجلد 52، ص 346).
