  1. Supplication of the Imam of the Time (a.s.) for Believers His Eminence, Mahdi (a.s.) has supplicated in favor of the righteous believers as follows.
  2. as salaam alakim! I'm confused on what people mean by calling on independently, does it mean a prayer or dua?
  3. Shaykh Tusi says, in his book Misbah, that Imam Hassan bin Ali Al Askari (as) wrote this dua'a for Abu Muhammad who requested him to teach him the proper way of reciting salawat. Allama Majlisi has mentioned this dua'a on the authority of Ibn babawayh who confidently says that, there is no difficulty or problem that this dua'a does not solve. The merciful Allah is beseeched in the name of and for the sake of the Holy prophet and his Ahl ul Bayt. who are amongst the best human beings in status with HIM . It is also known as "quick-fulfillment-of-all-legitimate-desires" dua'a. The links are given below: http://www.duas.org/tawasul.htm
  4. We often hear about the importance of dua, dua being the weapon of a believer etc. There are recommendations of the best methodology of dua, some of it's conditions, and how to increase our chances of getting it answered etc. Eg. have wudu, praise Allah سُبْحَانَهُ وَ تَعَالَى, thank him, be sincere, and for better chances of acceptance supplicate during thahajjud in the middle of the night, before breaking fast, after the obligatory prayers, in Qunoot, in Sujood, in congragation, in the Masjid, on Fridays, before the sunset, when it is raining etc, when alone, etc. But does dua really work? Do we have any empirical evidence for it? Do we have any proof of it? Because if you look at countries such as Iraq, Afghanistan, Palestine, and how the people there all make supplications with sincerity day and night. You know, "Oh Allah bless us of the good in this world and the next and save us from the hell fire". "Bring peace and harmony to our country", "Bless me with wealth, knowledge, etc". Yet what do we see? Chaos, bloodshed, poverty, ... Compare that to say the Scandinavians, Australia, Canada, where almost non of the people supplicate there, majority are either atheists or not religious, yet they are living a peaceful, comfortable and blissful life. So does dua really work? Please explain. Thanks
  5. Salam Is there any powerful dua that immediately eliminates bad habits from your mind ?
  6. Salaam Alaikum! I was wondering if anyone knows or have a resource for the English translation of "Dua Noor Kabeer", other than the one which can be found on "duas.org". I am in desperate need of this, so please let me know. If anyone has it at home and have the possibility to scan or send photos of it, I would gladly provide my email address. Jazakallah khair. May Allah SWT reward you for your efforts. Salaams & Du'as
  7. DUA JAWSHAN AL KABIR The Supplication of the Major Chain-Armor. Shaykh al-Kaf’ami has written this supplication in his both books of al-Balad al-Amin and al-Misbah. It is narrated from Imam Ali ibn al-Husayn Zayn al-’Abidin on the authority of his father on the authority of his grandfather on the authority of the Holy Prophet - peace be upon them all. In this connection, it is narrated that Archangel Gabriel carried this supplication to the Holy Prophet (s.a.w.a.) during one of his campaigns while he (i.e. the Holy Prophet) was putting on such a heavy armor that hurt him. The archangel said, “Muhammad, your Lord sends His greetings to you, ordering you to take off this armor and say this supplication, for it will be security for your people and you.” http://alhassanain.org/english/?com=book&id=928#
  8. Selam alaycom, Inshalla everyone here knows how to do (and does) the obligatory acts of worship. However, there are many recomended acts that you might not know about. Inshalla I'll be posting some recommended daily duas, prayers, amaal and ziyarats here. This first one here is a gift from me, that some of you might need in other forums here on shiachat. Dua for scorpion bite At the place of scorpion bite salt should be poured and then recite Sura “Al-Kafiroon” (Ch: 109), Sura “Al-Falaq” (Ch: 113) and Sura “Al-Nas” (Ch: 114) one time each. Peace, Um Ali
  9. Salam brothers and sister I have a big problem and I keep trying to make dua to Allah and Jesus and imam Mahdi I'm trying to make a dua to any holy being that can answer it . I'm not a good Muslim I didn't know anything about my religion few years ago. I have a cat he is like a child to me he is super young and he has untreatable cancer he is slowly dieing and is in pain only prayers can save him is thier a dua I can recite to help him. Imam Mahdi always listens to my prayers but this prayer there no response to some point I deserve it I always made jokes about me getting cancer and stuff which I'm sure god doesn't like but why should a innocent animal be punished for my sin I want to ask Allah for forgiveness and I want to ask him to save my cat from death what should I do to be closer to my creator and his imams

  12. Please tell me any dua for the arrival of heart beat and normal growth and development of the foetus inside the womb ..??
  13. I know many of us (believers) have been through this, and I personally experienced my boat sinking and I know it is tough getting it back up. But if you won't understand why you have to get back up then you're definitely going to drown. My point of bringing this topic up is not to scare you away by telling you about the torment of hellfire or the agony in the grave, surely I'll do that by the end of our short exchange, but before everything else I want you to know what benefits and positive change prayers can bring to your life! BENEFITS OF PRAYING There are actually a lot; me and you could go on and on about how practicing Islam can benefit you and the people around you, but this once, let me just mention a few of those that I experienced first-hand. Health Prayer can be a source of exercise for most people. It keeps check on your physical fitness. All the obligatory acts in prayers benefit greatly to ones health. For example, going to ruku and sajda and tash'had saves one from back pain and knee-joints pain. Prayer also wards off many illnesses. Down to Earth When you go down in sujood, it gives you a feeling of how small and insignificant you are in front of all the blessings and creations of Allah سُبْحَانَهُ وَ تَعَالَى. He made so much, and still blesses you and showers upon you from good. Prayer kills your ego and brings you closer to Allah and the reality. Focusing on how you're alone in this world, and how only Allah is your supporter and benefactor even in the time of adversity. Strengthens the heart and the belief Prayer gives you the strength that you are lacking when facing adversity. It becomes a driving force when met with a lot of short-comings. It strengthens ones resolve to keep moving forward and facing new challenges while knowing that Allah never burdens a soul more than what it can bear. Closeness to Allah When we recite the verses sent down to us Humans by Allah سُبْحَانَهُ وَ تَعَالَى, we naturally feel close to Him. His words are the reflection upon our own-selves. When we make dua to Him and kneel down to Him, it shows that we are ready to give in our desires for pleasing Allah سُبْحَانَهُ وَ تَعَالَى. And that: He is the only "one" we can turn to in the time of adversity... There's nobody else, is there? Countenance and Spiritual Pleasantness Did you know that prayers make your face and spirit brighter? Who wouldn't want their face glowing with happiness and zeal. This not only allows others to look at you in good light but also brings a smile to their faces (especially your family). And it takes off a lot of tension from their shoulders (for some reason). Keeps you away from sins and keeps sins away form you Now this is note-worthy, because both sound just about the same. So where lies the difference? The difference is that there in you will come a sense of responsibility and a sense of accountability once you start praying. You will become more aware of your performance near Allah سُبْحَانَهُ وَ تَعَالَى, and you'd want to please him more and more. Who wouldn't want beautiful reward from Allah سُبْحَانَهُ وَ تَعَالَى?And alternatively, Allah will keep you away from sins with his authority over you if he finds your actions pleasing. And no doubt, he is the most merciful and the most benevolent. Along with oft-forgiving. Gets rid of laziness and grooms punctuality Most of the time we are extremely lazy when it comes to our responsibilities and obligations. But once we start being punctual in prayers habitually, we (Insha'Allah) will become more aware of the limited time we have and the utilization of it. Prayer somewhat grooms the instinct of time within you. When you start praying five times a day, you'll begin to realize if you're spending the remaining time the right way. You will have thoughts like: Am I fulfilling my religious obligations correctly? Is Allah سُبْحَانَهُ وَ تَعَالَى going to be pleased enough with the current me? Have I been listening to every words my parents say? Have I done the job that I must in time? Sense of Accountability I know I am kinda repeating myself here, but I couldn't just skip this point. Because this one is very significant when it comes to prayers. In our daily life, if we skip a prayer, do you know how many things go wrong then? How many times we attempt sins and bad acts? Have you ever reflected upon them?Prayer gives you a chance of reflection. And in the future it keeps you intact and in-check that you don't fall astray to bad acts from Satan. Keeps you pure and clean Before going to prayer, you remember, that you have to be Tahir (pure from any impurity). Thus this single remembrance can keep you more than enough clean and pure. Also, performing ablution three-to-five or more so times a day, protects you from Satan and his devilish whispers. Takes away nightmares and bad dreams I am sure many of us had nightmares or dreams that were bad, something you wish you'd never seen. But if you sleep after doing a wudu, and with faith that Allah and His angels will protect you from such dreams (that come from Satan), you'll be protected. WHAT DOES THE QURAN SAY ABOUT PRAYERS? I hope this thread will open your eyes to the importance of prayers and will bring you closer to Allah. If I made a mistake somewhere in the text, then it is solely from me. Forgive me, as I am only human. P.s. Thanks to my brothers and sisters here, they gave me confidence enough to post my material here. lol. I have some serious confidence issues. :P Anyways, thanks to everybody for reading and supporting! Jazak Allah Khair. Hope it will be helpful to at least a single soul!
  14. Dua /amal for deprission. Please rember me in prayers
  15. I recently started watching Rurouni Kenshin and have been thinking to myself if what I am watching is haram because their are some haram elements such as the music in the background and mild sexual references and so on. I pray five times a day and read Quran and Dua, but I'm not sure if I could better spend my time doing something more productive. I also wanted to ask is what I'm doing a waste of time? The Quran speaks of all the good we should do while we are on this earth is watching something like anime beneficial, negative or neutral. Islamically after you finish your obligations (prayers) listen to some Quran and Dua should you further strive to learn more about Islam or is their leeway to watch tv, anime etc.

  17. As-salaamu 'aleikum, I reverted to Shia Islam 1 year ago and wanted to ask if someone could list me highly recommended Prayers and Duas, their times when to be prayed, and location, etc. For example: I want to know good daily prayers like the prayers on Friday. I don't know anything about these. Or special actions that should be done on special days of the week. You know... just give me everything you know and are sure about ^^ I'm gonna list the things i have learned so far, or I'm learning, or i know that i want to learn. Just so that it is not repeated. I know the benefits and times of recitation for the following prayers: - 5 daily Prayers, Salat al Layl, Ayat al Kursi, Dua Imam e Zaman, Dua al-Ma'rifa-tul-Imam, Dua al-Ghareeq, Dua al-Ahd, Dua al-Nudba, Thank you very much for your help. Please also state good literature for a beginner (hadith, other books) The GOAL for me is to build a SOLID BASIS, a steadfast and consistent level of iman, because i had problems with that (flactuations). I need a good routine of Prayer, Dua, Deeds, Actions etc. Please don't state the obvious like: Reading the holy Book, or saying Takbir ( xxx times a day), etc. That is what I'm trying to achieve anyways. Thank you! May God bless you and give you the same reward for every word i recite or read.
  18. Salam brothers and sisters. we all heard once at least that Ramadan is the best time for duas to get accepted. Is it true ? And if so, is it not selfish ? Because we should do things to get closer to God, and making dua for our own desires (I'am not talking about the ones where we ask God forgiveness and thank Him), is it not considered as selfish ? Thank you very much.
