  2. Teachings of Imam Ali: Abstemiousness February 7, 2015By Shoeb Bhinderwalain Ahlul Bayt,Guidance,Imam Ali, Self-ImprovementLeave a commentEdit The teachings of the Ahlul Bayt provide us with the correct perspective from which to look at this world. Imam Ali (divine guide and successor of Prophet Muhammad) on numerous occasions explains the realities of this world. He provides us with the required insight, clears our concepts and gives us the correct viewpoint and angle from which to look at this world. The attention and energy we devote to a task is directly proportional to the importance we
  3. (salam) Answering Christianity is one of my most favorite websites when it comes to refute allegations made on Islam and Prophet Muhammad (pbuh). But now time's come for Answering Christianity to be refuted. I encountered some articles while my research. Some authors in Answering Christianity wrote'em in order to refute Shia Muslims. I collected them all and refuted them in one of my blogs. Now I'm thinking of joining their forum and represent my article before the my opponent. This is my blog: http://modest-muslim.blogspot.com/
  4. Wikipedia has a webpage of the English translation of the Holy Qur'an by Abdullah Yusuf Ali, so I looked at it and thought this will be useful to quickly look up surahs and ayahs. I decided to click on 33:33 which is one of our beloved ayahs about Ahlul Bayt AS. Using my home computer with mouse, I clicked on Surah 33 and I saw the table of ayah numbers and the color of ayah 33 looked a little bit different than all the other ayah numbers. At first I thought somebody else already clicked on that ayah so that is why it looks different. Then I noticed that you cannot click on it, like someb
  5. In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. As salaam Wa alaykum brothers & sisters. Recently I was listening to a lecture given by Seyed Ammar Nakswani and in the lecture he spoke about how some people bash Islam because they have nothing written about the Prophet (pbuh) until 150 after his death... At first I was confused and even more confused when Nakshwani then said they have a point and the Sunni Sahih hadiths and other ones like that were compiled around 150 years after the prophets (pbuh) death... But then he mentioned a book called "kitab-e-sulaym ibn Qays al Hilal
  6. assalamu alaykum! I am looking for further information -- preferably as a link to or name of a book (with author)-- or lecture -- on the lives of the following members of the blessed Ahlul Bayt: Imam Zayd ibn Ali (as) Imam Yahya ibn Zayd (as) Imam Abdullah ibn Hassan (as) Imam Muhammad Nafs al Zakiyyah (as) Imam Hassan al Muthanna I am fascinated by the pattern of the Alawid uprisings against the oppressive rulers from amongst Umayyads and Abbasids which began with Imam Husayn (a.s.) ... Thanks in advance.
  7. بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم Quran and Sunnah Where is the narration originally found? Muwatta Malik... let's look at the narration. It was narrated to me by Malik that he heard that the Prophet said "I have left for you two things, and you will not go astray if you hold on to them, the book of Allah and the sunnah of his Prophet" There is no chain. Nothing. Normally what would we expect? From x from y from z from the Prophet. Here there is nothing. What does the authenticator of Muwatta Malik say? 'It comes through three different chains. The first is through Abu Hurairah and in that
  8. "I leave behind for you two Caliphs (Khalifatain or خليفتين), the book of Allah and my progeny. The book of Allah is a rope stretched between the heavens and then earth and my progeny is Ahlul Bayt. The two will not separate from each other until they reach me at the pool of paradise." Note that this isn't the same as the famous hadith where the Prophet (pbuh) refers to them as the thaqalayn, this is a different occasion. On this one he refers to them as the two Caliphs (khalifatain). Let us look at the opinions of the main Sunni hadith scholars: Albani- chain is sahih (authentic)
  9. The Noble Qur'an is the Universal Message of the Creator (in his own words). The Message is first and foremost directed to the Holy Prophet and the Ahlul Bayt (the qualified and divinely appointed successors of the Prophet) so that they can convey and explain it to us. There are two keys to unlock the [...] Read more of this post: http://losthumanity.org/2014/05/17/luminosity-of-the-heart-and-the-words-of-the-creator/ -- Lost Humanity Blog http://losthumanity.org
  10. Oh Ali! Fourteen centuries, with their hours, days and years have dissolved like the grain of salt dissolves in the palm of the ocean. Yet not a letter of your great name has dissolved. So how is it possible for these people to lose you and not find you, or to find you and then to lose you? The words which have come from your lips have constantly refused for fourteen centuries to be limited to time or place because they carry from you the light of true values of thought and the struggles for the reality of life. They cannot be confined to any one framework. [...] Read more at: http://los
  11. Oh lost man! Think about escape every single day of your life. If you are able to escape in this world then escape in the Hereafter will be easier. But escape is not easy. And what is it really that we need to escape from? Every day is a different game. It presents us with […] Read more of this post at: http://losthumanity.org/2014/04/05/where-is-the-escape/ -- Lost Humanity Blog http://losthumanity.org
  12. Man is constantly gravitated downwards by his base and selfish desires and must struggle to overcome the strong gravitational pull of his lower self to reach the higher goals of existence. Just like the seed which battles to survive in the soil, struggles to extract the right nutrients, and fights the forces of nature and gravity to seeking the higher ground where it can live it’s purpose and deliver the fruits of it’s labor to the world. When Al Qaim (the last member of the Ahlul Bayt) shall rise then Allah will make the Truth prevail over all other religions. Let me first define what is meant by the term Awakening of Desire. By this term, is meant the brutal, harsh, severe, [ ... ] If the events and narrations reported about the merits of Ali had not been so famous, so profuse and so numerously reported, their reporting would have been stopped out of fear of the Umayyad dynasty because of t
  15. Imam Ali – Guide in the Wilderness Few are the men who are patterned like Ali ibn Abi Talib. Life itself rises with them, as they appear scattered along the crossroads of generations, like lamps that guide those who journey. Despite their fewness, they are like pillars through which can be seen the courtyards of magnificent buildings; holding on their shoulders the […] Continue reading at: http://losthumanity.org/2013/12/25/imam-ali-guide-in-the-wilderness/ Lost Humanity Blog http://www.losthumanity.org (Note: Please subscribe to the blog to receive automatic email notifications of new
  16. This is the man that claimed that Yazid "RA" Killed Imam Hussain (ra). First of all, how does that work? See what happens when you leave parts of religion out, and here we have the uneducated masses listening to him, praising him, and following his teachings as the law... May Allah guide him. I made a little video: Dr. Zakir Naik Teaches Us a Lesson About Arrogance My question... Is this arrogant behaviour (as a "respected" scholar) a result of too much praise or is it in fact the deviation from the Prophet's teachings leads to destruction? Discuss here.
  17. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LD4iBq_U088 ---- go to 13:40 I was watching this tribute to a man called, by his stage name, 'uncle frank' who died recently, aged 77. He was actually the real uncle of the presenter of the chatshow. Watch it and tell me how you feel. Anyway, after watching the video, i felt an overwhelming sense of grief and i couldn't hold my tears back. I'm not usual the one that gets too emotional, but this just got to me. It was a real wake up call and reality check. It jabbed my inner conscience. I literally had to go to the restroom and wash down my tears. I realized how s
  18. Salam alaykom, I recently made this video displaying Ayahs from the Quran and hadiths from the Sunnah confirming Shia Islam and thought I'd share it here. If you have any feedback or have any errors to point out, such as grammatical mistakes or mistaken Ayah numbers, etc. please let me know. :)
  19. Assalamo alykum wa rahmatullaha wa barakato Salaams to all on shiachat. Long time member and this is only my second post in about four years. I have a question about a story ive heard concerning Imam Jafar as Sadiq (as) and a hindu doctor. I'm sure youre all already familiar with this story so I'm not gonna post it again because it can be found right here on shiachat already anyways. The part of the story that concerns me is where the Imam supposedly says that the kidneys are bean shaped so that sperm can pass through them and then he says that sperm comes from the backbone. As im sure most of
  20. (bismillah) (salam) The commander of the faithful says: “A right which has no one to claim is, indeed, lost”. Hello everyone, I need some advise. I live in China currently for education and in the university's dormitory building. Frequently, there is much noise from the people that are in the same floor I live in and in other floors also, i.e. shouting and music. From the perspective of Ahlul-Bayt (as) , what would be a good approach to deal with them? The reason I am asking this question is because I do not want to subject my anger to deal with this problem. Should I just keep quiet? Or shou
